I listened to Obama and Merkel speaking today as Obama tours the world trying to reassure the Globalists that Trump is a slight setback to the Liberal/Progressive agenda.

He reassures them that the young are already indoctrinated through the education system so the Globalists will win in the end. Patience.

Where is our President during these trying times?
Off to tour the world.
He and Hillary and Bernie have done nothing to quiet things down here at home. As a matter of fact they have encouraged it.
I have even heard talk of disrupting the inauguration.

The rich and powerful Globalists apparently are not willing to accept their defeat at the hands of the American People.

Perhaps they have decided a Civil War is in their interests.

Interesting.

Not sure where this should go ...

Rep. Danny Davis' grandson shot dead over shoes in Chicago

A dispute over shoes led to the fatal shooting of the grandson of Illinois U.S. Rep. Danny Davis, Chicago police said Saturday.

At least two attackers went to the home of 15-year-old Jovan Wilson in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago on Friday night and shot him in the head after an argument, police said.

"This stems from a dispute over shoes, basketball shoes," police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said.

Guglielmi said Wilson knew his attackers and they may have been friends at some point. The shooting was not, as previously reported, a home invasion.

"Young people are using guns to settle petty disputes over clothes," Guglielmi said.

Chicago has seen a dramatic rise in the number of shootings and homicides, with August being the deadliest month in the city in two decades. There have been 673 homicides so far this year, including the fatal shootings of the cousin of Chicago Bull Dwyane Wade, a Chicago police officer's son and the son of a famed percussionist.

Davis said in a statement that Wilson's mother was not at home, but Wilson's uncle and three siblings were.

"I grieve for my family. I grieve for the young man who pulled the trigger," Davis said in a statement. "I grieve for his family, his parents, his friends."

Police have not arrested anyone or named any suspects, but Guglielmi said investigators have good leads.

Davis, who was re-elected this month to his 11th term in the 7th Congressional District and is a former Chicago alderman, was in Chicago on Friday and spoke with reporters after talking to police. He wondered how the shooter obtained the gun and said he'd continue to try to combat gun violence.

Davis described his grandson to the newspaper as a "typical 15-year-old" who liked music and basketball, someone who "knew all about ... the stats of different players." But Davis also said he recognized that Chicago's violence problem could affect his family.

I remember back in the early 90's kids would get shot over those Starter jackets. It's weird, I left Ohio in 86 to join the service, when disputes were settled with your fists and shootings like this were almost never heard of (I really can't think of one) and come back in early 91 and kids shoot each other over clothing.

My condolences to his family.

I cannot imagine losing a child, or a grandchild, especially in that manner.

City renames 2 holidays deemed culturally insensitive

The city of Bloomington, Indiana, has renamed Good Friday and Columbus Day because the names imply a cultural insensitivity, according to the Bloomington Herald-Times.

The new, more politically-correct names will help make the holidays more inclusive, the mayor said.

The change was made Friday by Mayor John Hamilton, who sent a memo to city employees.

"We are terrifically proud of our diverse workforce at the city," Hamilton wrote. "That diversity makes us stronger and more representative of the public we proudly serve. These updated names for two days of well-merited time off is another way we can demonstrate our commitment to inclusivity."

The Herald-Times reports that "all city employees receive paid time off for Columbus Day, a federal holiday ... and Good Friday, the Friday before Easter Sunday. In the future, the city will be calling these paid days off 'Fall Holiday' and 'Spring Holiday."

Columbus Day has been changing for a while.

The fact is that Christopher Columbus was a terrible human being. This has nothing to do with being politically correct and everything to do with acknowledging that this guy sucks.

Besides, unlike what use to be taught in grade school, the guy didn't even discover America. Glad teachers and such started putting out correct info.

So he shouldn't even have his own day in the first place.

Yeah, Columbus only got as far north as Cuba, IIRC, but he definitely never landed on any part of what became the country of America.

As far as renaming Good Friday ..... well, that's idiotic. We celebrate/recognize one thing on that day, and it's not "spring". Good Friday celebrates the day that Jesus went to the cross to take away the sins of those who would believe in Him. Spring has nothing to do with that.

Of course, today's "tolerance" means that Christianity has to be pushed off the national stage in every way.

Sorry, but if someone comes to your show, to support your work, then you should show them respect in that role in return. You can speak publicly in any other number of public venues, but the theater is supposed to be an escape from the pressures of the day. How would the cast like it if a Trump supporter stood up in the middle of their show and decided to start spouting political rhetoric? I bet that they would not approve.

Man, we are turning into a society of people who want to give their views on everything before they work. crazy I can't wait to go through a McDonald's and be given a speech on computerization of jobs .. and why those working there deserve $20/hour .... or to listen to the radio and hear every band or single tell me their political views before they play ......

Geesh. banghead

You're paying to see a performance, not get a lecture. This was completely unprofessional. The best way to get that message out is to speak with your dollars. If this is the way the arts are going to act, stop supporting the arts.

The Hamilton incident shows the arrogance of the Left once again.
Common decency and acting with respect is again pushed aside in pursuit of the agenda. More symptoms of a crumbling society.

Donald Trump victory shows power is slipping from the hands of 'the elites': France's Le Pen

The election of Donald Trump as president of the United States showed the "massive return" of the people, the leader of France's right-wing National Front party, Marine LePen, told CNBC on Monday.

She claimed to be "very happy" about Trump's election, calling Americans' choice "courageous and advantageous".

"I think that the United States will regain its image which had become very damaged, especially by the administration for which Hillary Clinton worked. The United States cannot have the image of warmongers, with all the potential consequences it could have for our respective countries," Le Pen warned.

"So, that the United States has once again regained an image as an organization of peace is beneficial for us all," she surmised.
Le Pen said there are similarities between Trump's platform and that of her own party as the National Front hopes for France's independence and its return to power. Furthermore, both Trump's and her own party's platform commonly share a refusal to stomach mass immigration, to support factors which drive the growth of the so-called Islamic State and to allow free trade and regulations which would "ravage" France and the European Union (EU).

President of French far-right Front National (FN) party Marine Le Pen delivers a speech during a political rally on September 3, 2016 in Brachay, France.
The National Front leader made clear that she sees now as the time for opportunity, saying a series of recent political developments — from the U.K.'s EU referendum, to the rise of the far-right in Austria and Trump's win — demonstrate that power is slipping from the hands of those whom she describes as "the elites."

"I think that the elites have lived too long among themselves. We are in a world where globalization, which is an ideology, has forgotten, and put aside the people, the people's interests, aspirations, and dreams," Le Pen ventured.

"They have acted like carnivores, who used the world to enrich only themselves, and whether it's the election of Donald Trump, or Brexit, the elites have realized that the people have stopped listening to them, that the people want to determine their futures and in a perfectly democratic framework, regain control of their destiny," she continued.

"And that panics them, because they are losing the power that they had given themselves."

Asked whether this dynamic augured well for her own presidential ambitions, Le Pen said within a certain framework it could do.

"So yes, in these conditions, if the French people too wish to regain their independence, wish to regain control of their country, and wish to reinforce the elements of security, the borders, the rule of law, economic patriotism, then I will be elected president," she predicted.

BET founder, after meeting with Trump, says blacks should give president-elect a shot

Democratic media mogul Bob Johnson told CNBC on Monday that fellow African-Americans should give Donald Trump "the benefit of the doubt," and hope common ground can be reached with the incoming Republican administration about issues facing the black community.
The BET founder — who met with Trump on Sunday at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey — described the sit-down as a "great chat" about "business solutions to social problems."

During the campaign, Trump made the case to African-American voters that Democrats let them down, and argued repeatedly "what do you have to lose" by voting for him.
Johnson, who had supported Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, said he told Trump over the weekend, "The real question you should be asking is what do African-Americans have to gain from your presidency."
"Trump is a business guy, and I think he's going to tilt towards finding [a] way to use fiscal policy … to move the economy forward," he said. "Let's give him a shot. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt; see if we can find common ground."

"That's what's best for African-Americans," Johnson added.

To make his case, Johnson, founder and chairman of The RLJ Cos., quoted founding Congressional Black Caucus member Rep. Bill Clay Sr., a Missouri Democrat who served more than three decades in the House.

Paraphrasing Clay, Johnson said, "Black Americans should have no permanent friends, and no permanent enemies, just permanent interests."

"That's where African-American voters should be," Johnson contended, saying he does not view Trump and the Republicans as enemies or friends. African-Americans have "permanent interests," he said.

Johnson said the country needs a leader, "not somebody who's going to sort of choose sides," and he hopes Trump fits the bill.
As for whether his meeting with Trump might mean an administration job, Johnson said unequivocally, no. He joked about the odds being "subzero," adding he "never worked for the government … and never wanted to work for the government."

I do vote that way. I have a permanent interest in limiting abortion, guns for the law abiding, Conservative Christian values, and an end to Globalism.
