I agree with much of what you say. I didn't vote for either. I wrote in. My state has such a small number of electoral college votes I knew it would be inconsequential either way. Now I can sit back and know, it's not my fault. If it works great, if it crashes and burns oh well.

If Trump is the man he says he is, He needs to make that happen and he needs to tell McConnell to sit down and shut up.

Funny thing is, I don't know anyone that doesn't agree that term limits are important. Unless it directly affects them.

Yep. The house was quick to make term limits on Presidents, but not their own seats... Which might not be a bad thing. I'm not sure that causing higher turnover in the house would decrease the influence of parties, but rather strengthen then.

You, like the president, are a caricature of a human being. So yes. You got the president you thought.

Term limits aren't meant to decrease the influence of parties as much as to g e pause to the legislator.

I won't dig up the quote on my phone, but the founders intended for term limits in order to make sure some one considered what life would be like living under the law that they passed like their constituents had to.

Both sides of the American demographic need to clamor for this.

Ku Klux Klan to hold North Carolina rally celebrating Trump victory

https://www.yahoo.com/news/ku-klux-klan-hold-north-230227525.html

A 'victory' parade announced by the Loyal White Knights, a KKK chapter, will take place in North Carolina during December. "Trump's race united my people," read the announcement, according to the News Observer.

David Duke, a former Imperial Wizard of the KKK, hailed Trump's election "one of the most exciting nights of my life" and rejoiced in the fact that "our people" helped him keep Hillary Clinton out of the White House.

The KKK's official newspaper lent their backing to Trump during the election campaign, and the president elect was forced to distance himself from the hate group's support. Last week, the Trump campaign sent out a statement that the property billionaire "denounces hate in any form".

In 1927, Donald Trump's father was arrested after a KKK riot in Queens when over 1,000 white-robed Klansmen marched through the Jamaica neighbourhood.

A Daily Star article stated that Trump Senior was detained "on a charge of refusing to disperse from a parade when ordered to do so."

On Wednesday (9 November), protesters took to the streets in at least 10 US cities to march against president-elect Donald Trump. Nazi graffiti was spray painted on the glass window of a South Philadelphia building with the words "Seig Heil 2016", while a swastika was added to the word Trump.

The Philadelphia Police Department are investigating the vandalism although have not yet said whether it will be treated as a hate crime.

The incident happened between 9–10 November, the 78th anniversary of Kristallnacht, when Jewish-owned businesses were attacked by the Nazis in Germany. Synagogues were set on fire and nearly 100 Jews were killed.

"We are horrified by the appearance of hate graffiti on a storefront in South Philadelphia," said Nancy K. Baron-Baer, regional director of the Anti-Defamation League. "Swastikas and the Nazi salute send a message of intolerance and hate to the entire community. The fact that today is the 78th anniversary of Kristallnacht adds another layer to this already sickening act."

I don't think there needs to be term limits. People can be limited to one term. Why force good reprensentation out by limiting terms? Vote out bad representation.

America Speaks!

Saturday Night Live , !!!

1. it's even new tonight.
2. They let Dave Chappelle host, cool!
3 Saturday Night live let's Dave Chappelle do a live monologue,

the last time they did, Martin Lawrence did a joke about women and they stopped the process for at least a dozen years

This time Dave Chappelle did a joke about hotels, and a thing from a statement ad, and apologized to Lorne Michaels.

probably ruining it again for another dozen years.

I really worry that Trump will allow rampant fracking for oil. I also worry that the Keystone pipeline will destroy forever key areas of fresh water supply that are much more needed than cheaper oil.

The link shows the number of major pipelines in place. Most run from the Gulf to the North and West. I would say one more with a South running flow isn't going to pose much more risk than is already present.

Do want gas or not? Do want it at a price that doesn't cripple the country or not?

It's all about what you want. Me? I welcome a flow from a stable Canada rather than rely on tankers from Arabia feeing 80% of our demand.

We still have a lot in our ground, but why use it up before we use up theirs?

I agree that we need to find other means, but until then, it is what it is.

I just worry about the 100s of square miles of land that will suddenly be laid to waste just so people can save a dollar or two at the pump on a fill up.

How so?

How are hundreds of square miles suddenly being laid "to waste"?

It's a pipeline. Look at the graph peen posted. We have pipelines running all over this country.

I constantly hear people poo pooing burning fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are terrible, is what we're told. And so many of those same people - well, all, really - are sitting at their computer, in their air conditioned and heated house.

Where the hell does the energy come from to heat and cool your house?

And then they turn around and drive 2 miles to go out to eat, or to go to work. Where does that gas come from?

Oh, but they feel good about themselves because THEY drive a vehicle that gets "good" gas mileage. And the heat or a/c is on when they leave the house - to go to a heated or air conditioned job, or restaurant, etc.

Where's that power coming from?

You are worried about endangering people? Cars and roads are the most endangering things in this country.

Quit.

You act like this pipeline is going to leak at every gasket and spill hundreds of gallons every 30 feet. As I and others have pointed out, there are thousands of miles of pipeline in this country, and for the most part, all is good.

Most of those miles run fron the South to the North. This one will run from the North to the South Gulf coast, where most of the refineries for crude are located.

Get a grip on the issue.

I don't get why anybody that's trying to pull the "environmentalist" side of the issue would be against having a pipeline. It dramatically reduces the actual USAGE of oil, because you aren't burning the stuff just trying to transport it. It also decreases the risk of having an actual spill by a huge factor, because truck/train accidents are WAY more likely than pipe failures.

I get that the pipeline contractors need to build the things within EPA regulations, but as far as environmental impact, I'd much prefer having a pipeline than a convoy of trucks.

I used to hear similar arguments like that in Europe. They were all very quick to criticize the US for our car culture and cheap petrol yet, in Europe you can fly from London to Rome for 1 penny. Yep, we did it! Now, you still pay 40-50 pounds on taxes/insurances etc. but still....internal flights in Europe are ridiculously dirt cheap compared to here in the US. So, there are loads of cheap airlines moving Europeans all over the continent day and night. But, hey....those Americans and their cars was always the argument.

Even then, Colonial has been around a long time with a good record. As I know you know, it has nothing to do with Alabama. If you are going to bring up fuel from the Gulf to northern markets, those pipelines are going to run up through Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, or Texas. No way around it.
