Very interesting decisions. I'd think it means that McCown is ready to at least be the backup.

Might as well see what Hogan's got if he's got a grip on the system now. I think McCown and Kessler are both "Questionable" or at least less than 100%. It helps to have at least one healthy guy active.

I agree with you and I'll add to it.
As much as it pains some fans to hear it, I believe that they feel it's more about development than winning this year. If the need arises, I believe they feel it's more advantageous in the long run to see what Hogan can do than a scrub off the streets.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

It's clearly about seeing what Hogan has vs the street scrub ... Problem is .. HOGAN IS NOT NEAR READY FOR HIS SHOT ... Hopefully he's like Cody and after 5 or 6 snaps the game wasn't to big for him ... My guess is Hogan starts and Pryor is the back up ... Then next week at least one of B the other two is back .. ISN'T THIS FUN ...just a blast!!

And I agree with you. Hogan getting playing time isn't something I think they want to see. But I would have to say that a lot of people had Hogan ranked higher than Kessler.
I'd say they didn't want to see a situation where Kessler had to take the field either.
And I don't know if I'd describe it as fun, but if I didn't have a sense of humor I would have gone stark raving mad by now. lol

There's nothing wrong with it, I understand we all have our different opinions, but that's my stance. From the QB view: I have enjoyed (within reason) watching the past two games, because I want to see Kessler and see if he will develop. When Whitehurst came in, it really dulled the game from the QB standpoint since Charlie is/was just a band-aid. I've wondered if they were going to bring Hogan up. I understand bringing in Charlie to have a veteran on the roster for spot duty while McCown was injured, and I'm guessing.. let Hogan learn the offense more.

I liked Hogan more than Kessler in the draft. He needs a ton of work on his mechanics, but he can provide things that Kessler can't.

I'm not against that myself GM. I was just trying to explain what I believed their thought process was. This year was set up to develop and evaluate so to me bringing up Hogan simply furthers that agenda.

I had hopes for EJ, but he obviously has failed to make an impression in two NFL training camps/seasons.

Pierre Desir - DB - Free Agent
Chargers waived DB Pierre Desir. Desir appeared in 5-of-6 games with San Diego after getting claimed before Week 1. His release is a bad sign with the Chargers down Jason Verrett (knee, IR) and Brandon Flowers (concussion, out). Practice squad OLB Chris Landrum replaced Desir on the active roster.

New York Giants Release Josh Brown Amid Horrifying Abuse Revelations The New York Giants released Josh Brown on Tuesday, roughly a week after the public release of documents that showed Brown admitting to physically beating his then wife in 2015. “We believed we did the right thing at every juncture in our relationship with Josh,” team president John Mara said in a statement. “Our beliefs, our judgments and our decisions were misguided. We accept that responsibility.” Mara added, “We hope that Josh will continue to dedicate himself to rehabilitation, and to becoming a better person and father. We will continue to support him in his efforts to continue counseling, and we hope that Josh and his family can find peace and a positive resolution.” Brown served a one-game suspension during the Giants’ 2016 season opener as a result of his arrest last May on domestic violence charges. The charges were later dismissed. But last week, NFL.com published a story based on 165 pages of documents resulting from Brown’s 2015 arrest, in which Brown admitted he physically, verbally and emotionally abused his then wife, Molly Brown, who separately told police Brown had physically abused her 20 times, including while she was pregnant. (The couple has since filed for divorce.) The league, which faced criticism from police over its initial handling of the case, soon after placed Brown on the temporary exempt list while an investigation was underway, which meant he could not participate in practices or games, but could get paid. He did not fly with the Giants to London for their Week 7 game. Brown put out two similar but not identical statements on Tuesday. In one, which was released through the team, he said he hoped to improve as a person and bring about positive change. But in a separate statement released through ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Brown strongly denied ever beating his wife. “It is important to share that I never struck my wife, and never would. Abuse takes many forms, and is not a gray area,” he said. You can find both statements embedded below: Statement from Josh Brown: I am sorry that my past has called into question the character or integrity of The New York Giants, Mr. Mara or any of those who have supported me along the way. I have taken measures to get help so that I may be the voice of change, not a statistic. It is important to share that I never struck my wife, and never would. Abuse takes many forms, and is not a gray area. Through the past several years I have worked to identify and rectify my own behaviors. The road to rehabilitation is a journey and a constant modification of a way of life. My journey will continue forever as a person determined to leave a positive legacy and I embrace the opportunities to show and speak about what has helped me to be that man. In the interim, I am cooperating with the Giants and the NFL. Thank you to everyone that has supported me, I will not let you down. -Josh Brown http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/josh-brown-released_us_580fafa1e4b02b1d9e635318

It was only a matter of time. THere's no way a team would keep a kicker for that negative PR

Sorry, but are you replying to my post about Christine Michael? Because it looks like you're replying to Memphis Brown, in which case I wonder what it is you are surprised about. Sorry again - I don't mean to be a dick - but would it be very hard to simply use the reply button under the post you are replying to? Honestly, you have over 13,000 posts and you haven't figured this out yet?
