How am i wrong ... u just told me Americans didn't want the jobs so we needed non citizens to fill them ....

I then pointed out we just laid a bunch of military personal off due to budget cuts ....

How am i wrong ...

DC - really ... Swish all of a sudden at a loss for words ... *L* ... if that's what he meant ... he had ample opportunity to say it ...

If your a GLOBALIST also ... thats fine .. your choice ... i want AMERICANS doing AMERICAN JOBS first .... if u want the best man regardless of their country of citizenship .. we'll just have to disagree on that one ...

I shouldn't have to explain to you any of that.

I'm not at a loss for words. I'm at a loss of understanding why this is so hard for you to comprehend.

The military always downsizes when wars draw down. If you haven't been paying attention, we're turning Afghanistan into another Kuwait, where soldiers can actually choose to get stationed over there now.

On top of that, combat is different, we are using more tech, less soldiers. This is the evolution of warfare.

Our tech has allowed us to put less soldiers in harms way. It means less bodies needed to get the mission accomplished.

This isn't any special insight. This is common sense.

I dunno what your beef is with people legally allowed to work in this country pursuing their dreams. If Americans aren't filling the jobs, then what? Are agencies just suppose to keep the position vacant until an American decides to get off their asses and actually do something?

Also, I want to point out how hypocritical you are. A few months ago, you got #triggered when talking affirmative action, how you wanted only the most qualified to be hired, not based on race.

Now all of a sudden you want jobs to pass over the best candidates, or more importantly, the ones who actually WANT to be there, in favor of waiting around hoping a US citizen fills the spot?

Pick and choose. Pick and choose. This is getting real annoying around here.

Pick a freaking position.

What's wrong with a felon finding work? Usually most felons cannot find work due to their status and revert back to crime as employment. What's wrong with legal employment?

U are just incredible ... your actually a major waste of time ....

ONCE AGAIN ... i have to hold your hand through the chain of events ...

- u said that NON US CITIZENS that are permitted to work here are in the service BECAUSE there wasn't enough americans ....

- i pointed out to U that the military just had lay offs .... hence we LET AMERICANS GO ... that kind of BLOWS UP your BS theory that there's not enough americans to do the job ...

What is so hard to understand about that ... u know what i meant ... but once gains your DEFLECTING ... explaining something to me that is IRRELIVENT ... only difference is u didn't INSULT ...

And the lay offs were because of Budget cuts ... they had nuttin to do with technology ...

I don't believe i ever said that about affirmative action on here ... BUT .. u summed up how i feel .. i want the best most qualified people to get the job ... 100% ...

AMEICAN CITIZENS FIRST ... we disagree ... do what u said 8 posts ago to me .. MOVE ON ...

CHS - what part of rewarding felons over non - felons don't u understand? ..

If the convicted felons the most qualified ... NO PROBLEM ... they served their time and deserve a 2nd chance ... especially the dude they talked about here ... seems like a good dude that got caught with guns a few times because he was in a car that got pulled over ... BAD BREAK ... since then he has done the right things ...

I APPAUD THAT .... but that shouldn't get him a job over folks that haven't committed felonies just because he's a minority ...

IMO thats BS ...

I'm out fella's ... have fun deflecting ... nightly night boys ...

Well, you're the only one who believes this narrative, that this man wasn't the most qualified. Or that he was an AA candidate. But since you throw out a narrative, let play devil's advocate. Would you say this man is an Anti-AA candidate? He seems like he was a victim of the drug war's racial profiling and ended up a felon. So who cares if he got a good break because of his skin color for once in his life. I'm sure you've caught a few good breaks because of it.

If it's the law in CO, then it's the law in CO. The Sherriff's office has to abide by it. What concerns me is that the DoJ is handing down the punishment for a state level issue. Law enforcement be it cop or deputy are certified by the State they work in. I understand having an agency far enough from the issue looking in to it, but I'd be willing to bet there is a State level agency that could have handled that without worrying about a conflict of interest.

I don't think a lot of you guys realize just how hard it is to a) fill the ranks in law enforcement and b) fill them with quality people.

Some of you guys have jumped on criticizing groups like BLM for the current climate of anti-law enforcement sentiment (and you wouldn't be wrong), but don't forget prior to Ferguson right wing white dudes were trashing cops too. Hell, they were all up in arms about the heavy equipment brought out in Ferguson and were on their way to make a stand until they realized they'd be standing next to a bunch of black dudes from the hood.

Law enforcement for most had always been considered a calling and was often multi-generational within families. 3 years ago a poll was taken of 18,000 cops... 80%+ said they would not recommend this job to a family member. Cops are leaving the job in droves: either for smaller agencies, better pay, and less work or just getting out all together.

Society is going to have to have a reckoning and figure out what to do when the people who feel their job was a calling realize it simply isn't worth it anymore.

But yes, if CO law says people allowed to work here legally are eligible for a gun and badge, than they should.

You'll always have former soldiers as the #1 choice for police departments.
