Cardinal play the Seahawks and Rams Saints play TB and Atlanta.
I think the Cardinals are guaranteed a win vs the Rams. Saints may or may not get a win.
Do we want the Cardinals to get 2 wins to ensure a 1 spot improvement or do we want both the Saints and Cardinals to win 1 game and hope for a 2 spot improvement if the Eagles lose out risking neither team passing the Eagles if the Eagles get a win in the final 3 weeks.
I would also root for TB over Dallas this week. I want Dallas to have to win in week 17 vs Philly.
I'm not too worried about SF. I see no way that we don't have the #2 pick at worst. I will be more than satisfied with either Garrett or Allen. So as long as we don't end up picking 3rd, I'm okay.

Possibly but I don't think so. I really believe that this FO didn't like anybody at the top of the draft so they traded down to where they found value. Whether that evaluation was right or wrong is another discussion.
I also believe that they really like this draft. I do not believe they trade our pick. I can see them trading down with the Philly pick if there is a tier of players they like. JMO

At this point it is fruitless to speculate about what the Browns will do.
There are many dynamics involved all the way to the draft pick.
First is free agency. Then the draft with trades possible before and during the draft.
Part of decision process is being flexible. The Browns need to keep all assets in play and utilize them to upgrade the team.
The problem is do these guys know how? Are they capable to identify talent and make the right moves to acquire it.
The team is in major need to draft true impact players. I mean all-pro, future Hall of Fame type talent.
We need the type of guys teams have to game plan around.

Philly is down 10. Cincy is up 2, but Pittsburg has momentum.
Our 2nd round pick Titans are falling to the Chiefs by 7 right now.

NO and Carolina have winnable games IMO.
I like the Raiders too much to root for a SD upset this week.

Does our draft position really matter that much considering the bozos who are making the picks?

Vers... This is not a thread for talking about who the 'bozos' will or won't pick. I made this thread to talk about where our draft slots will end up being and which teams will effect those draft slots. I know... we all know... you don't like our bozos.

Unfortunately the Titans pulled the upset.
Philly made a choice to go for two to win and it backfired. New Orleans and San Diego are both winning... Cincy got beat but Philly's pick is ahead of them anyway.
San Fran is getting beat up but after what I saw today no way we win one. So I think our #1 pick is assured.

Okay Portland. I'll stay off your thread. No problem. No problem Vers. I want you to know I feel you man. I don't know what the FO is going to do with the picks. It hasn't been fruitful this year for sure. Maybe it'll be a disaster. Maybe it won't. I just want as high of picks as possible at this point because that at least gives a better chance of making good things happen come draft time. So in the mean time I root for other teams to win or lose. It makes Sundays a little more interesting. When the Browns play like they did today something has to keep me interested. This is my fantasy football.

Man, Philly really fell in it and came out smelling like a rose.
They had signed Bradford to that 2 year deal .... and then managed to move up to get Wentz, which cost them a 1st and a 2nd, along with other picks ........ (and I am not debating that pick/trade) but then they also managed to move Bradford for a 2017 1st and a conditional 4th, that could become a 3rd or 2nd rounder. (If the Vikings make the NFC Championship game, or the Super Bowl)
Bradford was an OK option for them when the league year opened, but nothing special. However, he helped them ease the price they paid to move up for Wentz a great deal.
That really is stepping in it and coming out smelling like a rose.

Stupid Giants couldn't put the damn ball in the end zone tonight. Too many field goals. Cost us a draft slot or three or more.

the panthers and saints, the only other two teams in the NFL currently with 6 wins, both play atlanta and tampa in the last two weeks, who are 9-5 and 8-6 respoctively, both fighting for the divisional crown. I'd be surprised if NO or carolina get a win and both will likely pick ahead of us. But the real issue is the game vs dallas. There are 3 teams that are 7-7 right now... Minnesota, Buffalo, and Indy. The good thing is that they all have winnable games left (MINN home v. Chicago in finale, who has been playing better recently but has nothing really to play for, BUF home v. Miami and at NYJ, and IND finished at home vs. JAX). So if Philly wins vs DAL's backups / unmotivateds and TB and ATL hold serve, we will probably pick #1 and #12, but could be as late as 15 if all three of those 7-7 teams fail hard.

My hope is that Dallas isn't going to back off. They have a rookie QB that's playing well. My guess/hope is that they use this game to continue to advance his game. Yes they'll probably protect him more using the running game but I don't know that they can afford to not use this game as a learning experience for him heading into the playoffs. They run the ball well regardless of who's in the backfield. So while they may limit Zeke's touches I'd expect them to still pound the rock. Let's hope for the win.
As to NO and Carolina. I don't think Tampa is unbeatable by either of these teams. Veteran QBs verse a second year guy. There is a chance they take another loss.

I don't know why Dallas's backups would put up less of a fight than their starters... Unless the team also pulls the starting o-linemen. Is Romo just going to play conservative because he's a backup now?

Last week to root for the draft slot. So Cinci has 5 wins. They play the Ravens in a meaningless game. Let's hope the Bengals are playing for pride and can pull an upset. The Chargers also have 5 wins. After last week I can't believe they'll be beating the playoff bound Chiefs. Maybe they play hard to get the bad taste of losing to us out of their mouths. Won't count on it though.
Philly with 6 wins plays the Cowboys. I can't see Dallas taking their foot off the peddle. They're playing crazy good football right now and I have to believe they want that energy to keep flowing as they enter the post season. Especially now that they know they'll have home field advantage and the time off that comes with it.
The Titans, without their QB, plays the Texans with their horrible rotating QB play. The Texans D won them the division. Let's hope they can win one more.
Finally San Fran needs to take care of Seattle so when the Browns beat the yellow and black bad guys we still get the first pick! (Hey, I can dream!)

Not sure how the tie breaker would play out with San Diego. I think though if Cinci wins they move behind Philly.

San Diego will pick before philly's no matter what. We need to root for Carolina, Cincy, and Dallas for that pick to go to the 8 spot. If Philly wins, it will likely go all the way to 14 or 15 depending on if Arizona wins. I think they are playing at LA.

Romo will play against Philly. Last I heard they were saying Sanchez. It looks like they'll play all the QB's. Dak is suppose to start, Romo might play for awhile, but Sanchez will get the most reps. Also, Tyrone Smith will not be playing either. I hate the Cowboys now.

I kind of hope we get the 2nd pick. I don't think losing that position is really going to hurt us, and that 2nd pick opens up a lot of possibilities.
