I haven't seen or heard a word about this anywhere ... if its been posted ... my apologies ...
Derrick Kindred - DB - Browns Browns placed SS Derrick Kindred (ankle) on reserve/NFI, ending his season. Kindred somehow suffered a broken ankle during the bye week. The fourth-round rookie played 122 of 125 defensive snaps the past two weeks. This expansion team-level defense continues to take hits and is one to attack. This is all the Cavs and Indians fault..

Sucks. We can't catch a break with these injuries

Sucks.
How you gonna get injured on your bye week?
Although truth be told i like Campbell better anyway. More consistent tackler but not as big a hitter.

Oh brother. What are the odds we have a player run over by a bus before this season ends? Hit by a falling satellite? Leg chewed off by an alligator .... in Minnesota?

Browns sign DB Trae Elston, place Derrick Kindred on NFI Posted 1 hour ago Clevelandbrowns.com@Browns Facebook DB Justin Currie added to practice squad The Cleveland Browns have signed DB Trae Elston and placed DB Derrick Kindred (foot) on reserve/non-football injury (NFI). In addition, the team signed DB Justin Currie to the practice squad. Elston is a 5-11, 193 pound rookie out of Mississippi. Originally signed by New Orleans as an undrafted free agent, he has spent five weeks on Tampa Bay’s practice squad. A four-year starter at safety at Mississippi, he opened 44 of his 50 career games and totaled 252 tackles, 34 passes defensed, four interception, 11 tackles for loss, one sack, two forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries. Elston is a native of Oxford, Ala. Kindred, a fourth-round pick this year, appeared in all 12 games with five starts. He logged 43 tackles and five passes defensed. Currie is a 6-2, 212 pounds and officially in his first NFL season out of Western Michigan. He was originally signed by the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent in 2015. At Western Michigan, Currie started 37 of his 47 games and totaled 339 tackles and five interceptions. He is a native of Royal Oak, Mich. http://www.clevelandbrowns.com/news/...f-cfd45edfb8a0

Kindred and Campbell are similar players. Neither is very good right now. Not a huge loss, but it would have been nice for him to gain experience.

Color me curious about this story. For the year and during bye week. Blushing and embarrassed he should be.

On how Kindred broke his ankle during the bye: “I do not think that really matters. Whatever he did, he did not do it right, let me put it to you like that. It is unfortunate. The guy was really starting to play well. It was not anything malicious or anything like that. He did it honestly trying to prepare himself to get back. He did not do anything out of sequence that is going to cause us to feel different about him. He just needs to get back. We do not know how long that is going to be. We will kind of go from there.” http://www.clevelandbrowns.com/news/...b-8de59d94d205

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

I actually remember Elston at Ole' Miss. He was a pretty good player.
I don't know if he is going to be good for us, but he was a good, solid, SEC defender.

Agreed, but I think either of them would look much better next to a decent FS. They are being asked to cover much more than SS's should. Also, I know Kindred is a rookie, but I hate it when DB's mail it in with those nosedive armless tackles. Hopefully they will work on that in the offseason.

Ibby might be better, glad it wasn't Ed Reynolds. Draft a safety please, a hunter.

Broken Ankle? Bye Week? Smells like Basketball!
Oh well Campbell is not a bum who I assume will take his place. Kindred is on the NON FOOTBALL RELATED INJURY RESERVE List.
I wouldn't mind seeing a MONSTER BACK Defense instead of SS with Collins as the Monster Back...he could go in coverage, Blitz, roam free attacking the ball?!?

He could have been working out abd dropped a weight on his foot, who knows? Maybe going down some stairs and slipped off the edge of the step on a rainy day?
I won't give the guy a beatdown for it.
