The true answer as I see it is that NOT one of those emails hurt Clinton or helped Trump. But what the Trump campaign and republicans did with them is pretty suspect. I mean the beating she took was amazing. Not sure how she withstood it until the end to be honest.

Are you seriously saying Hillary Clinton is a victim of underhanded politics? rofl

That was probably the most anti-American comment I've ever seen on this forum. "I don't want freedom, I want to live!" I feel sorry for everyone who is in the army after reading a comment like that.

It's definitely up there.

It's funny watching people complain about the size of government, yet turn around and want top notch security.

Top notch security requires big government.

Just a quick question Bro. Has there been any proof that any hack was done by the Russian Government? IF a hack did come from Russian soil how is that any different from a hack happening on American soil that the government knew nothing about?

Podesta’s email hack hinged on a very unfortunate typo

by Russell Brandom@russellbrandom Dec 13, 2016, 3:40pm EST

An extensive New York Times report on this summer’s catastrophic email hack of the Democratic National Committee has turned up a very embarrassing detail about how the attack took place. It was reported at the time that Clinton campaign manager John Podesta fell victim to a phishing scheme — specifically a fake “account reset” appearing to be from Google — but it now seems that a typo from one of Podesta’s aides may have played a crucial role in ensuring that email’s success.

When the phishing email first arrived, Podesta referred it to a number of aides. An aide named Charles Delavan replied, “This is a legitimate email. John needs to change his password immediately.” But according to the Times report, that email was a simple flub — at least according to the aide in question. Delavan says he knew the email was a fraud, based on similar phishing attempts that had been spotted and blocked. He had meant to write “illegitimate email,” and simply mistyped. On that recommendation, the email was opened and the account was compromised, resulting in the publication of Podesta’s archive. Unaffiliated trolls subsequently used information from the emails to compromise Podesta’s iCloud account and remotely wipe his iPhone and iPad.

The result has to be one of the more consequential typos of the year. According to the Times, it’s an error that “has plagued [Delavan] ever since.”

The CIA recently attributed the attack to a direct Russian effort to favor Donald Trump. In October, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence made a similar attribution, writing that “only Russia's senior-most officials could have authorized these activities.”

President-elect Trump has continued to deny Russian involvement. “It could be Russia,” he said in an interview with Time last week. “And it could be China. And it could be some guy in his home in New Jersey.”

Ask the CIA and the rest of the intelligence community, as well as the republicans agreeing with them.

I don't have the clearance to answer that question.

The country who we current have two puppets working in our us government working for.

One puppet is represents big oil. The other just told the American people, who doesn't go to intelligence briefings, that the agencies are lying about the hack because for whatever reason, the agencies are salty about the election.

Y'all just elected a freaking Russian puppet into the damn White House.

Communists in this country, when they don't have their own candidate, almost always vote for democrats. I thought they would like close ties to Russia.

I don't like Russia (or anybody) hacking and influencing our election.. but then I didn't like bus boys secretly recording Mitt Romney talking to his friends at a party either... I guess you either respect a person's right to have some measure of privacy or you don't.

In the end, this hacking exposed the very dark underbelly of who exactly Hillary Clinton is and the lengths she was willing to go to in order to try to win an election, much of which was extremely unethical. A lot of this had been brought up by the right prior to the hacking, that Hillary was a lying, cheating, unethical human being and was always met with the same response from the left... "Yea, but Trump....."

So the hacking proved what many believed to be true, she was never required by our own media to answer for the unethical stuff that was in the e-mails. Perhaps if she had addressed the content of the e-mails and exactly what happened when she worked with the DNC to sabotage Bernie or when she was directing the media on how and what to report or when she was being given debate questions in advance it wouldn't have been so damaging.. but she never addressed it. She took the tact of just consistently blaming the Russians and Assange for exposing her...

As for your puppet comments.. the CEO of Exxon, one of the largest oil companies in the world, has a relationship with Russia and it's leaders, the largest oil producing nation in the world.. <shocked face>

Global business people have global business dealings and global relationships, in order to do business, they have to have relationships with a lot of powerful people.. It has consistently cracked me up every time Trump nominates a powerful business person, the left dissects those relationships and looks for the most unsavory ones and then reports on it. Then they say the person has no experience.. In essence, the criteria the left has set up to judge whether somebody is worthy of a cabinet position is limited to anybody who has spent their life in politics... that's it.

I have no idea whether Trump's people will be any good or not but the whole dynamic of the way this is playing out is quite interesting and comes down to the fact that the left, which rails against our government consistently, still seems to believe that the only people fit to serve in government are those who are, and always have been, in government.

Just like on facebook, you're trying to justify a foreign hack by a country who blatantly tried to get their boy into office.

No matter how you spin it, it's beyond screwed up and should not be tolerated.

But I get it. This is what taking the country back looks like.

Russia over America.

I do have a couple of issues.

1. I'm not sure that the Russians hacked anything. But a number of covert and not so covert agencies of the US Government are saying they did. So my tendency is to believe them first.

2. Me thinks Trump protests too much. Seriously, a tweeter war with the CIA? I would have thought the smarter move would have been to support the CIA and other agencies. Make them prove it and support them until they either do so or prove that it didn't happen. But to make a blanket statement that it didn't happen? Dumb on many levels. It shows me he's not about the USA. Instead he's all about DJT.

3. After the news of the potential Russia hacks, he wants to appoint a guy that is Puten's buddy as Secretary of State. Again, while I don't like that the top four appointments are elitist all white male, I specifically think that this might be the most telling appointment yet.

4. Appearances matter, except if you are Donald Trump. I know there are a lot of Trump supporters on this board. To be clear, I'm not one of them. But supporter or not, you can't be blind to this, can you?

That entire line was BS. There's not anybody around here who has said that only public servants and such should work government jobs.

I made the distinction that when you put in david Ross, a guy that works for the damn Rothchilds, it's a massive contradiction from conservatives who complain about big money in politics.

When your out in two guys with clear ties to the Kremlin, even after the intelligence community finds out that Russia tried to rig the election specifically to get trump nominated, it's a massive conflict of interest.

But again, if this is what taking your country back looks like, then it's not surprising that you and others have zero issues with what's going on.

Same thing I told purp, if you're fine with foreign governments hacking us, if you're fine with big money in politics, then just say so. Because that's exactly what's happening. We don't need any lobbyist or bought off politicians anymore. They are now in direct control. Trump replaced the puppets with the puppet masters.

Let me know how those Russian language courses go.

Man, you could have dropped the mic with that one and walked away, and I still would have thought I got my money's worth lol

Things is, it appears that these claims aren't based on any new information and are just a repeat of the unsubstantiated claims made several months ago. THOSE claims were made only on circumstantial evidence and speculation to begin with.

If anyone would know who and how the emails were hacked, it would be the FBI as they've had access to the servers and such.

And now there's this:

According to Judge Napolitano it was the NSA who hacked and leaked the info...

The reasons seem sound enough, although our own intel agencies trying to effect elections is not good.

Bottom Line, Hacking is illegal. Those that do it, for whatever reason need to be brought to justice.

Put politics aside and just view it from that standpoint.

ANYONE, and I mean ANYONE that stands in the way of finding out the truth should be tried with those that committed said crimes. I don't care if you are the President Elect, the sitting President, a member of the Presidents staff or the President Elects staff or a member of congress or a candidate that ran for office.

If you cover it up, you are, in my eyes, as guilt as those that committed the crime in the first place.

Having said that, it will get covered up and those that protest the investigation or call it false are the first I'd look into

Can't say I disagree.

But even if the Russians are behind the hacks... unless there's evidence that links to some sort of cooperation between them and Trump... there's nothing to pin on Trump.

What makes me scratch my head is if the intel communities are so certain, are they digging deeper? And why isn't Obama doing anything about it besides doing interviews crying about how the election turned out? I know he only has a month left, but he is still the President. Congress shouldn't have to be calling for bipartisan investigations to be started because there should already be one going on. Instead they should be having closed door intel briefings on what has already been discovered.

Yup, and now the secret service has to leave their hookers and outrageous parties and get the hell back to work soon protecting their new president after they sleep on the job for 8 years.

Believe me, there will be plenty of other things to pin on Trump someday. This is about Putin and Russia in the act of getting their sanctions lifted ASAP. Trump and his his new Kremlin friendly followers are buying in as usual, hook, line, and sinker.

First of all, if they are able to determine that there was collusion between Trump or the Trump Campaign staff and the Russians, there are actually things that can be done. so don't make a blanket statment about nothing to pin on Trump. If he did wrong, he should be punished.

How do you know what the Current President is or isn't doing. he's not like Trump. he doesn't tweet his actions at 3am.

Third, Politics don't have a place in this discussion. Hacking is against the law, it's that simple. And those that did it deserve punished. End of story.

Don't make this about politics. It may be, but it needs to be handled like a crime.

Like I said, I don't have a clue what's true or not. But I wanna know. Regardless of who did what!

Because a "hack" is not an attack on the U.S. It's labeled something else. Here's a bad article from Slate that describes it a little bit. http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_p..._future_of.html

"During the 2008 presidential election, China hacked into the websites of both parties’ candidates, Barack Obama and John McCain—troubling, but hey, it was espionage, no big deal. In 2015, after China hacked the personnel records of millions of federal employers, a member of the House Intelligence Committee asked James Clapper, director of national intelligence, what he was going to do about this cyberattack. Clapper replied that the Chinese hadn’t launched an attack, exactly. They’d engaged in “passive intelligence-collection activity”—cyberespionage—“just as we do.”"

Most American communists are either Trotskyists or Marxists. Neither of which really accept Russia at all. But funny joke. I just don't want anyone thinking that Communists in America adhere to the biparty system of American politics.

Let me ask the question this way then.. yes, people have pointed out the Exxon CEO's ties to Russia... they have also claimed, all over the place, that he has no experience. So if being CEO of a company that does business in almost every country in the world does not have the experience to be Secretary of State, which deals with most of the countries in the world... then who does have experience?

I swear, sometimes debating with you is like arguing with my wife. If she is upset about something, if I'm not equally upset, then that means I don't care or I'm fine with it... there is no in between, no middle ground, no room for some concern, no room for looking at it from a different angle.. There is her level of irate, then the next step is indifference or acceptance.

i never said anything about him not having experience.

my entire complaint has been their ties to Russia and how additionally how it relates to the election. with what they do being a conflict of interest in a broader picture.

so you must be talking about somebody else and their complaints about experience.

although since we're talking about experience, perhaps you can explain to me how a lifetime surgeon in Ben Carson is somehow qualified to run the Housing and Urban development department.

at least the bankers in big oil guys have some relevant experience in the same strike zone.

that one isn't even in the same ball park.

as far as the rest of your comments, then i guess i'll just be your DT wife then, cause this is a big problem that you seem to just be blowing off like it's nothing.

i don't wear wigs, though.

In response to your first response to swish......and really, in response to any and all that are afraid trump will kowtow to russia:

Where was the outrage over this:

Cash Flowed to Clinton Foundation Amid Russian Uranium Deal

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/04/24/us/cas...mpany.html?_r=0

Yeah, and people are worried about what trump might do, but totally ignore what the clintons have already done.

It takes a special kind of person to do that. smile

The uranium deal was a shot attempt aimed at trying to control the overall supply of uranium by the russians.

We still control the mines, just in case you didn't exactly read up on the topic.

Also, russian's can't extract the uranium.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/fact...m=.f70c58ffdc7b

this information is out there. here's a nice little nugget:

As PolitiFact found, the majority of these donations were made before and during Clinton’s 2008 presidential run. So Trump’s claim that Hillary Clinton “gave [uranium to] Russia for a big payment” is not accurate. If she had actually become president, she would have had more power over the deal than as the head of one agency among nine represented on CFIUS.

__________

but ok.

there's always questions.

because real answers require clearances.

the public has never gotten the full story on anything. not even after the Snowden leak. there will always be a question for the question.

Wasn't the white house itself hacked into some time last year!? Where is the outrage about that? Absolutely ridiculous. This is a move by the left to continue to NOT move on from the election, incredible.

so you must be talking about somebody else and their complaints about experience.

although since we're talking about experience, perhaps you can explain to me how a lifetime surgeon in Ben Carson is somehow qualified to run the Housing and Urban development department.

at least the bankers in big oil guys have some relevant experience in the same strike zone.

that one isn't even in the same ball park.

as far as the rest of your comments, then i guess i'll just be your DT wife then, cause this is a big problem that you seem to just be blowing off like it's nothing.

i don't wear wigs, though.

The thing with someone implementing an overhaul of an organization (which is what Trump claims to be doing), it's more important that the people in charge know how to manage and lead. Management isn't going to know the fine print product details. In fact, there is a benefit to having someone who has limited to no knowledge about the product because as they learn about it, they can ask questions from a much more objective perspective vs. getting caught up in the "we've always done it this way" mentality.

Now for as much as I think Carson is a genuinely good person, I too am wondering about him being appointed HUD Sec. Not because I'm worried he doesn't have enough experience in low-income housing... but I don't know if he has the organizational talent or skill or experience to run an agency.

I don't want Palin as head of the VA AT ALL.

I didn't mean to imply that you said it specifically, but I have seen it tagged into almost every article about him and every other Trump nominee.. they don't have any experience.

How do your legs look in a skirt?

masculine.

and everybody is gonna complain about experience no matter who is running the show.

i try not to get worked up over experience. but the ben carson joint is really off.

It's ok if your legs look masculine... we'll just count you as one of those hardcore Crossfit chicks

Top notch security requires big government.

Don't confuse "big government" with overreaching government. Providing for our security, from enemies foreign and domestic, is probably the single most important thing our government is supposed to do. So if we need to be well staffed to do that, fine.

But do we need 10,000 employees in the department of housing and urban development? 5,000 in the department of education? 80,000 in the IRS? 60,000 in the department of transportation? 70,000 in health and human services? 45,000 in department of commerce? Good Lord with all of those people, why do all government services suck so bad?
