Does anyone realize how good u have to be to have a team completely go away from your side of the field. Funny though soon as they sub for Garrett they attack the side he was to be on.
Draft this kid and never look back.

Didn't realize this but Myles Garrett is top 10 in CFB history in sacks or at least he was before Barnett played and he finished 2 behind Von Miller. As a prospect there is no benefit to staying 4 years. All it does is open more ways for people to criticize your game.

Draft this kid and never look back. I agree, though as a fit for us, Allen might be right for us. I am good with either player. You are right, Garett closes down one side of the field.

Why is he a better fit? Not challenging you but people keep spewing this with no backup.

I think we will be a better 3-4 DE if that is what we play. I also think he is a better run defender.
In the back of my mind I see us taking Allen with the first pick, and Barnett with the Eagles pick. We all at once become a top 10 D. Barnett and Ogbah at the ends, Allen and Shelton at tackle. We destroy QBs at a high rate.

Don't get me wrong.....I have been on the Garret bandwagon a long time. I'd love to have that guy.
No beef from me if we draft him. You can't project him as a bust. If he does, it one of those unforseeable things.

Did you mean to make it sound like Garrett would be a 5 Tech for us? He would definitely not be but just to be clear Allen and him do not play the same position at all.
I like garnett too. I'd actually love to trade from one and get Barnett and mcdowell. That's my no1 scenario.
My problem with Allen is I think he plays best as a 3 tech. If we're in nickle that's fine(though we have a lot of guys on the bench and weak at backside rush like Garrett could give us) people think I'm crazy because he plays 34 de but I suspect he will measure 6'2 with only average arms. No matter how good you are it will be difficult for him in 34 base at the next level.

For the people who want to over analyze Garrett, I mention Joey Bosa.
On one leg, Garrett was more productive than Bosa was in their respective junior years. On Bosa, people need to learn from that mistake. Everyone overanalyzed him, and kept complaining about non-consequential stuff and he's had an amazing rookie year. You think the Browns or Titans wouldn't have loved to add him? Don't overthink this.

Candy...what is it that you do not like about DE, Solomon Thomas?
I simply put the video on and I see two entirely different football players, judging Thomas to Garrett, especially when it comes to effort on the field.
We talk about establishing a team culture...I'm not sure of his leadership qualities.

This would make so much sense. Get these 2 and go to the 4-3. Just the ability to stuff the run consistently would make the defense 10 spots better. We have guys on the team now that could be solid rotational players at DT and DE. With the 2 second rounders look at safety and CB.

I agree w/you on people being overly critical of Garrett. They didn't like Bosa, either. LOL
I'm hoping the Browns add a real football guy to the FO so they don't do anything dumb and pass on Garrett.

We really need Philly to lose Peen. I agree. I have been rooting for whoever they play for some time. I'll have to check, not sure what they did today.

What the hell? I've been pimping Solomon Thomas like crazy on here. Also, I'm convinced you're just making stuff up at this point. Leadership qualities....? Have you ever heard the kid give an interview. Like I said before, you would be the type of person to pass on Joey Bosa.

As I've said I'd be really surprised if solomon came out. That said if he were drafted today what position do you draft him for? Unless im mistaken he plays 3 tech at 270lbs.

I'm right there with you Peen......I love Allen and Garret. As long as we get one of those two guys I will be happy.....just nothing stupid like Watson/Tribisky. At 12, I would love to have Hooker/Adams but I'm not sure either lasts that long....shame Philly won..lol.

If he's only 270 then Danny Shelton is only 295. I'd wait to see combine weight before coming to a conclusion. I bet he's closer to 285-290. He'd be a 3 Tech for us.

I just watched a vidoe clip of Solomon Thomas, and I have to say, from a purely non-football perspective, what a good kid. Even if he was an "OK" player, he's the kind of guy you want in the lockerroom.

Personally he looks svelte in the lower body for a DT so I definitely believe 270. I hope he bulks up because 270 won't do. He can't be a 3 tech for us we don't employ that. I'd suspect 5 Tech but some made it seem like he was viewed as INSTEAD of Myles as in he should be an OLB. That's why I asked. Btw if anyone has any other tape on him it'd be appreciated. His only tape is against terrible OL and I didn't get to watch the other day.

Those are the only ones out there that I can find right now. If he declares there will be more out rather quickly.

I look forward to that he is intriguing. Though I doubt he will knock mcdowell of the high horse I have him on
