does it really matter????? .... KJ was way OVERRATED by folks around here ... as predicted he went on to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING after he left here ... he was never even a starter on any of the teams he went to ...
GM and this isnt a good situation because ......
oh let me guess ...
1. Our other two QB's are so good??? BWAAHHHAAAAAAA ....
2. The OL is so bad???? *L* ... not anymore ... is it going to be great?? nope .. but it certainly isnt going to be near as bad as were used to ... 3. the other QB's are so much more experienced than him?? *LOL* .. OK ...
4. The running game isnt good enough?? again it isn't going to be great but we will have our best run blocking OL and our best RB since our return ...
5. the experience wont ay HUGE DIVIDENDS next year and the year after??? BWAAHAAAA ...
this isn't even remotely close to the Tim Couch situation .. WERE A MUCH MUCH BETTER OFFENSIVE AND DEFENSIVE FOOTBALL TEAM THAN WE WERE THEN ...
you dont need a team as good as the stilers or Pats to start your rookie QB's .. thats HOGWASH ... guys like Lienart and Young last year LEARNED ALOT and GAINED VALUABLE EXPERIENCE with teams that had WORSE OL'S than we will ....
U guys are still shell shocked from the Timid thing and the HORRIBLE OL'S AND QB'S we've had since then ... well, times they are a changing ....that was then, this is now ... I get it .. to bad U all can't ..

Yep... 31st and 32nd in the League.... just like we were when Couch played..... or is that just another Stat for losers....
The Browns haven't played a game yet.... Even the most positive predictors have them as an 8 - 8 team.... maybe.... Couch did play on one playoff team... LOL
The Cleveland Browns - WE KNOW QUARTERBACKS ( Look at how many we've had ... )

Naaa .. thats actually even worse ... shows u either literally have no clue or just want to crack jokes ... u choose ..
I missed the games last year where Joe, Stieny, Mckinnie and Lewis played .. I alos missed the games where Chud was our O-coordinator ..
I also missed the games last eyar where Robbaire and Shaun Smith and Peek played and where Wimbely and DQ were in their 2nd year ...
and if u wanna look at just your precious stats this year ... your GONNA MISS A GOOD YEAR that could be fun watching the kids grow ...
this team wont sniff the playoffs .. but it will be BETTER THAN THE PLAYOFF TEAM TIMID PLAYED ON ... and only your lack of true football knowledge will keep you from that conclusion ... cause those with a clue .. will know it ..

The difference is this is a good young core, and that team was full of packwork players trying to "win now".

So very true.
Unlike you, it's no secret I want Quinn starting on day one. If not day one then sooner rather than later. (read: after the bye week at the latest). I don't think he'll be ruined by being thrown into the fire as a rookie.
Speaking to all: My personal philosophy is there is no real formula to groom a QB. They could sit for two years or start day one, IF THEY HAVE THE PEOPLE AROUND THEM TO HELP THEM SUCCEED, IF THEY HAVE "IT," THEY WILL NOT BE RUINED. And QB's are ruined via years of bad football teams and bad protection.
This team is only going to improve in the coming years as we add more pieces, even in the worst case scenario of having a new GM and new coach next season (God I hope that's not the case), we have tons of cap room to work with and the young players will only gain experience.
I just don't think Quinn will be ruined, the talent we have now is light years beyond what we had when Couch played.
In fact, I have to wonder how Couch would have done with this team, even Holcomb...still, I'd rather have Quinn any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

What's the use of wearing your lucky rocketship underpants if nobody wants to see them????

Quinn will definitely play this season, probably 8 games at least as the starter with how "good" our team seems to be compared to the hard beginning of the schedule. Hopefully I'm wrong and we the 2007 version of the Saints or Jets. Hopefully Quinn can do as well as Leinart did for a rookie and show flashes of being a great QB in future years. It would suck if we went into 2008 with Brady having little or no experience.

My opinion on the matter hasn't changed since he was drafted and won't. I've heard some agree with it and some don't. (imagine that!)
I see two things that will meet "my personal criteria" for Quinn to start. I feel both are very important in his progress as well as for the "team".
1. For Quinn to have a full grasp of the new system and be the best QB to give us the oppertunity to "win at the time".
2. That the OL has had enough time to gel and work at least above average as a unit.
I've seen too many QB's with great potential thrown into the fire and never pan out to advocate taking that risk. IF we did not have the players in place to help him out,I may feel differently, but we do.
We HAVE the talent on OL to protect Quinn. With Quinn here,I Feel it would be foolish to risk his development being retarded or throwing him into a situation that creates a "higher risk of injury" over a simple matter of weeks.
In the grand scheme of things, for the long haul, giving time for the situation to be "optimim" for him to start, may put us light years ahead in his developmental process rather than using a foolish strategy of rushing him in there.
JMHO
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
