Yep. There's going to be a lot less low level work within this country. We need our future generations to start attending colleges and applying themselves to STEM fields and teaching if they are to have any shot in the future. Older generations have zero reason to care about this though. They just want to ride out towards the finish line and retirement.

So when is Trump bringing his business back to America? u mean his kids .. my guess is as soon as it makes sense ... who knows if it will ever make sense .... that's what I would do ... So let me get this straight. He's threatening GM with huge import taxes if they don't start making all Chevy Cruises in America, but he can sit back and make his products overseas. Actually, he has said he will put import tariffs on all American businesses who make their products overseas. So every other business is terrible for this, but he gets a pass until it "makes sense"? Have you looked at the definition of hypocrite lately?

If a huge, or even big, or any increase on import tariff's is made, it would almost certainly include any of his products that are made over seas, as well. IF this tariff increase occurs and his stuff is exempted, THEN the crap will, and should, hit the fan.

His Hotels are his crown achievements. He'll just keep his existing apparel companies and profits all off shore in his international stores and such. No biggie for Trump. It's not like he's making anything special that every american must have to survive. Like Food, Housing, Oil, Building supplies, Automobiles, Refrigerators, Tablet/Phone/Computer's, and such. Hell, I'm happy he plans to tax the crap out of these companies that move their MFG offshore. Obama has been trying to do it for 8 years but the same republican congress that has fought it tooth and nail will accept the penalty from a white man better than from a black man.

The point I'm trying to make mainly is that he is thumbing his nose and talking down to GM over making the Chevy Cruise in Mexico, NOW.
Yet his products are being made overseas NOW.
You're right that we can't see into the future. All we can do is take Trumps word for what he said. For all the good that will do us.

Yet his products are being made overseas NOW. No offense Pitt but Trump isn't president NOW, so he can say just about anything right NOW. This is one of the few things I agree with Trump on. I sure hope he comes down hard on U.S. companies that want to keep or move their MFG overseas. If he doesn't it's all just been lip service for the masses.

He'll just keep his existing apparel companies and profits all off shore in his international stores and such. Is that illegal? If the products aren't shipped back here - if they are made over seas, and sold over seas - how can the u.s. put tariff's on them? If they are made overseas and imported here, they should have the same tariff's, not? Obama has been trying to do it for 8 years but the same republican congress that has fought it tooth and nail will accept the penalty from a white man better than from a black man. This statement right here explains very well why I don't respond to you much. Race, in everything. That's your angle.

Not really caring if O created millions of service related jobs and believe some of his policies negatively affected creation of higher wage jobs. Got a job while Obama was president? Then there's a good chance you are working in healthcare or food service or as a temp. Those sectors were responsible more than 60% of the jobs created since Obama took office in January 2009. How much of a role any president plays in job creation during his administration is up for debate. One thing is for certain, though. It's the service sector -- particularly healthcare and food workers -- that's been fueling job growth in recent years. link Take that 14.4 million job growth number. That sounds impressive doesn't it? But that job growth is stretched over almost six full years, during which time the working age population grew by 15.8 million. In that respect, we've lost ground on jobs under Obama. Another Link I am in need of a new vehicle, my truck has 190k on it and it has taken a beating over the past 19 years. I normally compare what I want the vehicle to do, such as be able to pull a boat and have room for 4 robust adults and vehicle reviews vs how much it costs. There are some vehicles such as the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited that I really like for about $28k but is it a better vehicle that the Chevy Silverado for about the same amount. That's were I have to look at what each offers for that amount and how much will some options cost. This time I have also am looking at the fact that Ford didn't take a government hand out and now this reversal of moving these jobs to Mexico as a factor. At the end of the day, I am not really sure that this will play a major role in my search but regardless it is a factor that may get me looking at a Ford.

So Sorry Sir. I understand it offends some of you when my angle points out that your lot will easily accept something from Trump's camp when you wouldn't even listen to the exact same proposals from Obama's admin. But whatever.

Speaking of trucks.
Today I saw a guy with a "make America great again" bumper sticker on his truck with a vote for trump sign.
He was driving a Nissan Titan.
But ok.

Besides, they split bro. Ram isn't part of Dodge anymore.

Okay, to be honest it started falling apart. When I traded it in after 5 years of ownership I had to include parts to fix it. The cup holder broke. Serioulsy, the plastic piece of crap cup holder broke and it cost me $105 for the replacement part. To say POS is being kind. I had it for five years from new and still with only 64,000 miles it was falling apart.
Now I got rid of that garbage and bought a nice 2011 Ford Edge, new and I still have it. No issues in all these years. I'll keep my Ford, you can keep that cheap Dodge garbage.

I don't have that problem.
But maybe it's because Ram is for glory. You wasn't trying to be glorious.

I've driven nothing but Ram pickups for the past 20yrs and don't regret it for a minute. I've got a dilemma right now....my lease is up in Feb, I can buy the one I have now for 26k. It's a 2015 crew cab, has 16k miles on it and it runs like a dream. Or I can lease a brand new one for 2 years, sign and drive for 189/mo. I never was a big fan of leasing, but they're making it hard to turn down the last few years. I paid 199/mo for my current truck.

I hope this will fit in this thread Diam! Stanley Black & Decker Announce Opening of New U.S. Plant After Trump White House Win stanley-black-decker by Warner Todd Huston 5 Jan 20174 Stanley Black & Decker, one of the U.S.A.’s most well known hand and power tool manufacturers, has unveiled plans to move some manufacturing back to the U.S. after the election of Donald J. Trump to the White House. In remarks to investors during a Thursday conference call, Stanley Black & Decker CEO James Loree said it just makes “business sense” to move manufacturing back to the U.S., especially given the uncertainty of trade relations with China and Mexico, USA Today reported. “It’s going to be advisable to have more manufacturing in the U.S.,” Loree added. “We believe this is an excellent opportunity to re-Americanize and revitalize this legendary brand,” he concluded. Stanley Black & Decker has been slowly increasing jobs in the U.S. for the past several years. Its current level of some 3,000 workers is already up 800 from 2013. It is not yet known how many more jobs the company will be bringing to the U.S. as a result of its latest announcement. The remarks come after the company announced the impending purchase of the Sears Craftsman tool line for about $900 million after Sears suffered another round of setbacks which will include the closing of at least 150 more stores. Stanley Black & Decker is not alone in a sudden interest in re-investing in the U.S. since the election of Donald J. Trump. Only days ago at the start of the new year, Ford Motors announced it was canceling plans to build new manufacturing facilities in Mexico and will instead re-invest in America. But Ford is only the latest. A whole list of companies have already promised to bring investment and jobs to America since Trump’s election. Immediately after Trump’s big November win, such companies as Carrier, SoftBank, U.S. Steel, and IBM all announced major additions to the U.S. job market. http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/...m_medium=social

I don't care what Car Co. it is. They all have had lemons over the years. I won't ever buy a Ford. I've been bent over backwards with them and a good friend got the shaft even worse than I did with a Mustang. I know they all have their troubles but Ford just stands out in that regard.
