The switch from Horton to Williams has caused me to re-evaluate who should (IMO) be selected at #1. Was Allen, now I believe it should be MG...

Admittedly, I haven't seen as much of Garrett as I have of Allen. Ive heard so much on the sub par quality of teams that Garrett had his most production against that frankly I'm concerned. Any input as to this point?

The case could also be said that Allen benefits from how great Bama's defense is, and how much other teams have to account for other players.
Myles Garrett in his other years:
2015:
Arizona St - 2 Nevada - 3.5 Arkansas - 1 Miss St. - 1 Alabama - 1 South Carolina - 2 LSU - 1 Louisville - 1
2014: South Carolina - 1 Lamar - 2 Rice - 2.5 Miss St - 1 Ole Miss - 1 Louisiana Mon - 3.5 West Virg - 0.5

Stat manipulation. Look who Jonathan Allen had sacks against: USC - 2 (back before Sam Darnold started and USC started off 1-3) Western Kentucky - 1 Kentucky - 1 LSU - 1 Florida - 1.5 Not exactly high powered offenses.

This is not stat manipulation in any way shape or form. 1oldmutt posted: "Admittedly, I haven't seen as much of Garrett as I have of Allen. These are indeed his sacks per ESPN.com - sorry I forgot the link I gave no interpretation of these stats I made no mention of Allen Where is this so called stat manipulation you suggest?!

Well then it's good we (allegedly) have a new D coordinator and crew coming in so IF the pick is one of the two it SHOULD be ( notice I didn't say WILL) the guy who best fits the new scheme.

Your Future Picks: 2018 Round 1 Pick 2018 Round 1 Pick (NYJ) 2019 Round 1 Pick
OK, IF we traded out of #1 AND Hue is fine with RG3.... This draft gives us a GREATLY improved 0-line and secondary. It gives us the best WR in the draft, a good receiving TE, and some fresh blood for our #3 HB. It also gives us a possible future at QB to use these WR weapons because Webb has a nice arm.
We gained a LOT of 2nd round picks that will add immediate starters and upgrades in talent. We also gain an extra 1st round pick in 2018.
It doesn't have the flash of a myles garrett pick but for building for the future I have to say I really like adding this much talent. We could end up with a really nice WR corps =)

Both safeties, the DE, and QB position knock out in the first 5 picks with a trade back.
Nice.

Ok I'm Going To Step Out And Say I Want Trubisky With The Number 1 Pick, No Trading Down, I Want To Take Him To Finally Fill That Elusive "Franchise QB" Position We Have Longed For Since 1985 When We Took Bernie Kosar In The Supplemental Draft !!!

https://theringer.com/nfl-playoffs-draft...5837#.2agpeoqk0Not sure if anybody saw this, but I found it pretty intriguing. And it appears that the Browns are prioritizing explosive athletes, particularly those with good scores in the vertical and broad jumps. Might be a trend worth following when trying to project whom they might draft.

Obviously not one combine measurement will be a defining tool, but I always felt broad jumps showed explosion.

explosion measured by vertical leap also.
After last night we got to consider Watson something about that kid...spells WINNER. I think we are going to end up either with Watson or Trubisky at #1. #12 Robinson? or one of the excellent Safeties?
Or can we get Garret and then Watson at 12. That kid Mike Williams is impressive but the timing is not right to take him.

jmho I think we will consider him or Mitch. Maybe that is why we floated our keen interest in Garrett. Maybe we do want to move down a bit to get one of the QBs and gain more picks. In this case I think it a mistake. I would rather keep Garrett and then trade up with the Eagles pick to get the QB. Other tidbits that cross my mind. Maybe the hiring of a new DC signals maybe we will try to get by with his theme rather than draft D at the top of the draft. Maybe we do plan on hitting free agency a bit harder and address 3-4 needs via that route. We need to start spending some of this usless money we have in cap space. It's hard to spend it on rookies. You have to spend the lions share on vets

I was looking at the Rams free agents. Maybe TJ McDonald would be a target at safety if the Rams don't tag him with something.

Another thought. I know the value chart is sketchy at best, but it does seem to be a guise.
The 12th pick is worth 1200, The 5th pick is worth 1700....a difference of 500.
The first pick in the 2nd round is worth 580.
It wouldn't be so costly to move back up to #5. We could get our guy there. Garrett would be 1 pick. Allen is going to be one of the top 4. I think one of Mich or Watson will be there at 5.
I say pick 5 because the Jets are at 6, and they will probably be looking for QB,
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn. GM Strong

49ers should be taking a QB at #2 we will not drop back and let them have the choice of QB if we got QB we are taking one of the two at overall #1. If not there then just a guy we like rounds 3 or later.
