I don't have problem with taller IF they have the feet and length. Those are far more important to me. Greco is 6'4 right on your bracket. I like shorter squattier OG and C. Preferably not over 6'4. Great m leverage and strength. Being able to pull and never lose your man in pass pro is nice but I'll take a road grader as priority. I always figured you can keep a rb to pick up a block and most OL miss on pulls anyways(making a lane is fine) but you can't teach a light guy to get movement off the ball. I like my interior OL like I like my ladies. Junk in the trunk.

just an fyi Greco is listed as 6'4" on our roster.

I don't put too much into height if they are 6'3" and have amazing arm length it doesn't bother me one bit that they play OT...although those are rare combos. So most of you good arm length is taller than that. Key to the guys with that height is their knee bend. The bums are the ones who don't have a natural knee bend and end up LEANING which eliminates those long arm advantages.

Actually Boselli started the watch on Arm Length for OTs especially LTs. He was a great LT with good technique but his short arms in extending them on edge rushers ended up ruining his shoulder and put him in early retirement. They credited the shoulder injury to his short arms and since then became a thing of concern.

OL Forrest Lamp, Western Kentucky
While Lamp played tackle at Western Kentucky, CBSSports.com’s Dane Brugler last week described Lamp as the “next great guard prospect.” Lamp, a four-year starter who played in 51 of 53 games during that span, was ranked by Pro Football Focus as a top-5 rated tackle the past two seasons and did not allow a sack in 2016.

Watching the North practice this afternoon. There are 2 guys that caught my eye that I want to go look at their cutup.

Tarell Basham DE Ohio listed at 6'4 259#
Haasan Riddick ILB Temple listed at 6'2 237#

Riddick is listed as an ILB but I can see him moving to OLB

OF note to the local guys, Kareem Hunt Rb Toledo is having a good day.

At his size Basham would likely need to be an OLB in a 3-4. I don't think he is big enough to play as a down DE, except maybe on clear passing downs.

Another guy the announcer mentioned, but I didn't see any of his plays was Trent Taylor WR La Tech. He is only listed as 5'8 177# but the announcers commented that the next time somebody covers him in the slot will be the 1st time

The next Cole Beasley.

I think he is going to be a very good pro. He projects as a 4th-5th rounder. A smart team will take him in the latter 3rd to be sure to get him.

I'm paying more attention to our coaches than the players.

Been watching for two days.

Some of the coaching on the defensive side of the ball looks good.

The offense... not so much.

I've had Melifonwu as a sleeper if we don't go safety early. He has ridiculous size and atheltic ability. Not a Day 1 starter but I think with coaching he could potentially be our version of Seattle's Chancellor. Apparently the Browns were one of the teams who talked to him, along with CB Cameron Sutton (Tenn.).

Temple LB Hassan Reddick is also impressive. I can see him going Round 1.

Kupp is a guy I would love to pick up in the 3rd but will likely go round 2 - I don't think we can go receiver that high this year.

I haven't been able to watch much of the actual practice sessions just the NFLN recaps footage of practice.

I've saw most of what's already been stated.

But I haven't heard anyone mention the Pimpkin? kid's arm talent.
His velocity jumped off the screen to me.

Sweet. Loved Sutton since he was a freshman. Perfect CB body with long arms and is a plus returner as well.

He tackles really well. I think Williams would love him.

Posted this in the Dobbs/Pipkin thread but thought I was in this thread so I am posting it here as well.

Listening to NFL radio on my way home from work and they were talking about how intense the Browns coaching staff had yesterday's practice. They were saying that was the most intense practive they have ever seen at the senior bowl and joked that a few agents were probably talking to Phil Savage about it.

I like to hear stuff like that about our coaching staff.

Why?

So we can lead the league in injuries?

Tuesday it was the least intense practice. Today is is the most intense practice. The media is playing Goldilocks with the Senior bowl practices.

It was more teaching focus than anything else, from what I read.

Naively and from an admitted point of ignorance, I would reckon analytics would rate Melifonwu highly especially if his combine and pro day numbers stack up. He even has the size to play that hybrid role in Williams' defense? So a 2 for 1 player if you like. A true ball hawk like Baker (Wash.) or King out of Iowa in the 2nd and Melifonwu in the 3rd would appeal as impact safety pairing.

South team players have high praise for Hue Jackson at the Senior Bowl



MOBILE, Ala. -- Hue Jackson was back in his element this week -- on the practice field, coaching, competing and leaving a mark on his players with his energy and enthusiasm.


"I love his energy," Mississippi State wide receiver Fred Ross said. "He's always excited to be out here and you can tell he really loves coaching football."


"You see it in the meetings, his passion, his love for the game and his love for inspiring players and pushing players," Tennessee quarterback Josh Dobbs said. "You see it in the meetings and then it definitely comes to light on the field."


"I think it's very similar to the staffs I had at Cal and Texas Tech, who were young, energetic, player-oriented guys and I see Coach Jackson as that way," California quarterback Davis Webb said.


Jackson, who, along with his staff, will lead the South team during Saturday's Senior Bowl at Ladd-Peebles Stadium, said after the season ended that he would jump at the opportunity to coach here and it certainly showed. As expected, he worked closely with the group of quarterbacks tasked with learning his playbook practically overnight.


Webb said Jackson was leading the team's quarterback meetings and called the experience with the Browns head coach "awesome."


Dobbs was equally effusive with his praise.


"He knows a lot about the quarterback position and it was really an amazing opportunity learning from him and I'm trying to gain as much knowledge as I can from him over the week," he said.


Webb was familiar with Jackson from his time with Cincinnati and acknowledged Jackson's Cal connection -- he was the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach there in 1996 -- and said he hoped that would be good for him.


"I've heard nothing but positive things about him throughout, scouts in the league or college coaches talking about Coach Jackson," Webb said.


Throughout the week, Jackson, as usual, wasn't shy about visibly and vocally congratulating players after making big plays, even on the defensive side of the ball. One such moment occurred on Tuesday during the team's opening practice when he ran over and gave Florida linebacker Alex Anzalone a shoulder bump after he made a stop in the run game.


That quickness to acknowledge positive plays was something that stood out to Ross.


"He's always pushing his players and if you do something good he's the first one to congratulate you," Ross said, "and hearing the head coach tell you, 'Great catch. Good job, man,' it's huge. It gives you a big confidence boost."


Ross said he was expecting a much stricter approach from an NFL coaching staff and was surprised to see how loose Jackson was all week.


"Man, he's loose," Ross said. "He's like one of the players out here and, as a player, you're playing for a coach like that, you can go out there and play free because he's going to be the first one to congratulate you and he's going to be there to motivate you every step of the way."


North Carolina wide receiver Ryan Switzer described Jackson and his staff as "detail-oriented" and said during the Senior Bowl media night on Tuesday, "from being around them for a day or two, they seem like they do things the right way."


A few players acknowledged the fact that Jackson and the Browns were coming off of a dismal 1-15 season, but you certainly wouldn't know it judging strictly by his approach to this week.


"The Browns didn't have the season that they wanted to have," Webb said, "but Coach Jackson's an awesome coach."


"Right off the bat you felt this energy and how he was ready to work," Pipkin said, "and that 1-15 record doesn't really define him."

I like him too. He wont last to round three.

I would use one of our 2nds on him.

The kid is not only big and fast, but he also had 118 tackles to go along with 4 ints in 2016.

QBs-
I didn't notice before when watching on film but Dobbs is knock kneed, and it makes him look awkward during his drop backs
In the team period showed ability to evade in the pocket and throw on the run

Webb has the best size of the group and better arm then i thought, easy velocity, flashed it during team and made a very nice throw on a slant and go; appears most polished of the QB group

Pipkin has a live arm probably best arm in the group, much bigger arm then his body, moves well but was hesitant to let the ball go a couple times in team

WRs-as a group struggled against press in drills except for Scott and Swizter(who appears slowed down/hurt)

South DL is beastly-
Tomlinson wining 1-on-1s, Adams winning 1-on-1s, and even Vanderous(sp) winning 1-on-1s

WRs-Reynolds, Ross made plays in team
Chad Wiliams from Grambling has the size and speed

NORTH:

Josh Johnson very fluid safety, if i didn't know he was a S already i would have thought he was CB. For example/comparison Johnson looks much quicker/twitchy then King.
Smooth back pedal and transition to flip hips open/turn and run

Gerry is a big dude, even bigger then he looks on film, moves a little stiff but gets to where he needs to be, got an interception on a tipped ball; usually lined up at SS

Obi covers ground and looks the part, he's a bit clunky/gangly by comparison but he's also 6'4
had hip pocket coverage in trail tech in drills

OG Dan Feeny took some snaps at Center

QBs-CJ Bethard looked like the best QB on the North roster, made a nice throw into small window on a seam route
During team Peterman was off w/ his accuracy,had a bad snap and on interception
Sefo-live arm but inconsistent from throw to throw, even bounced one off the dirt

WRs-
Kupp wins almost every 1-on-1, Zay Jones was making plays deep, Taylor in the slot

HASSAN REDDICK is a STUD

From watching practices, i think the.....

South has the best QB (Webb)

South has the best DL

North has the best secondary

North has the 2 best WRs (Kupp, Jones)

South has the 2 best TEs (Howard, Ingram)

I have made no secret of my desire for Douglas to be a Brown. I also want Kupp, Dawkins and Reddick :lol: The slot guy - Taylor? he would be a steal later.

Reminder:

The Senior Bowl game means next to nothing.

The week is an extra look at players who would be stupid not to compete at their best. That's all I'm taking from it. Plus our staff had full access. It's a great benefit to the teams selected IMHO.

The "game" possibly. The week of practice, no. It means a lot.

The Reese's Senior Bowl took place on Saturday in Mobile, Alabama — a chance for NFL front office personnel and coaches to get a front row seat to watch some of the top prospects in this year's draft.

After practices all week and the game on Saturday — in which the South beat the North 16-14 — here are 7 players who stood out.

Davis Webb, QB, Cal
The former Texas Tech and Cal quarterback earned MVP honors after completing 11 of 16 passes for 165 yards and one touchdown.

Kareem Hunt, RB, Toledo
Hunt shone on the losing North squad, rushing for a game-high 118 yards. He also showed great burst in getting into the open field and shook off a tackler for a big 43-yard run in the third quarter.

Matthew Dayes, RB, NC State
Like Hunt, Dayes had a big day at the running back position, rushing for 66 yards and a touchdown. He tallied a game-high 9.4 yards per run on his seven carries.

Zay Jones, WR, East Carolina
Jones had a monster afternoon with six catches for 68 yards — and that doesn't include the two touchdown catches which were eventually called back.

Josh Reynolds, WR, Texas A&M
Reynolds was Webb's favorite target all afternoon, catching six balls for 96 yards and one touchdown.

Derek Rivers DE/OLB, Youngstown State
Rivers — a small school defender from Youngstown State — had a big game, which included a sack in the third quarter.

Duke Riley, LB, LSU
The LSU linebacker was all over the field, finishing with seven tackles (including four solo) for the South squad.
