I would rather have Kevin in a suit on the bench then Melo playing.

Don't most knee scope for NFL players keep them out 2-4 weeks? Somehow I think the 6 week estimate for Kevin's return is on the long side.

We'll see.

I can't imagine you'd be as accurate with a knee that you're not quite confident on as one that you are.

Oh, I don't doubt that. A knee scope would put me down for two months, easy. Danny Kanell made the comment about most NFL players and their knee scope recovery timeline. He himself said that it might be different with NBA guys because of the surface they play on and being 6'10". Even then, he and Russillo said they'd bet Kevin would come back early, like JR is doing.

Like I said, we'll see.

Big night from Derrick Williams (13 Pts / 6 Reb / 1 stl) and Frye (21 Pts / 10 Reb / 2 blks).

For some reason, the first game after a team loses a key player everyone tends to come out super focused and fired up. We'll see how the Cavs play through March before JR returns. I hope they rest up over the break.

I wasn't too keen on signing Williams because he was pretty meh in Miami, just goes to show you sometimes you need the right situation. If he's going to be successful, it'll be here playing with Lebron. I already love what I see. He's much like TT in his hustle and constant energy. Lebron will elevate him. I'm curious what our two open spots become

He can believe anything he wants if he's draining clutch 3's for us in a Game 7 in the Finals (2016 and hopefully in 2017 too).

j/c:

I think the NBA "gets it" way more than the NFL. Last night, after the 3-pt shoot-out, they brought out players, former players, celebrities, etc to shoot 3-pointers to raise money for cancer in the name of the late, great Craig Sager. Turner Sports doled out $500,000 and the last shot was made by Sager's son as Shaq hoisted him in the air so he could shoot it close to the rim.

The event really choked me up. Kudos to the NBA and Turner Sports Network.

I think when the NBA "Drafted" Isaiah Austin was also a wonderful moment.

Seems like the talk of moving Shump has been heating up.

Lot of talk about sending him to Minny for Rubio and some big man.

I agree. I am just saying it's shocking to see him in rumours for Iman Shumpert (who is basically a league average wing player). And, from what kingodawg has said, the T'Wolves would have to throw in another player. That's crazy considering Rubio's value only a couple of years ago.

I think an All-star team of rubber traffic cones might put up some better defense than what we're seeing in this game.

I want no part of of a rubio shump swap. i rather use the exception on Mack, Now if it was Shump for Rubio and a big, i'd consider it, but to trade one of the few guys on the team that plays defense when we are already giving up 110 ppg doesn't seem wise..I guess we'll see how desperate either us or Minn is.

Woj is reporting that the Kings are listening to offers on Cousins with the Pelicans being the frontrunner (Hield and two first round picks). How do you guard Davis and Cousins when they are on the floor at the same time?

Cousins and Casspi for Hield, Evans, Galloway, and a first and second round pick.

Cousins and Davis on the same team is going to be super interesting.

They'll never reach a Finals without some serious help. The NBA isn't a big man league anymore. Quite frankly, they'll be an afterthought once the novelty wears off.

It is not a big man league, that is correct. I also can't remember a team in recent history that has had two big men as skilled as Davis and Cousins in their prime (Davis is 23, Cousins is 26). The only recent example I can think of are the Spurs with Duncan and Robinson, but even then Robinson was near the end of his career and Duncan at the very beginning. Where the Pelicans will gain a major advantage is when/if they stagger the minutes of Davis and Cousins. One of them will be on the floor at all times (with one going against the opponents' backups). One thing I wish is that they had a more creative coach. I would also guess that Calipari is at least rumored for the Pelicans' job in the off-season.

so they only got Tyreke Evans, Buddy Heald, and two draft picks? Man, awful deal for SAC

I would ask you to please not use the Lord's name in vain. Please. There are other ways to express the same sentiment without doing so. Thanks.

Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
