What agriculture jobs are illegals taking away from Americans?
Last year I posted a vice news video about how the farmers in Alabama needed the illegals, because no American citizens, specifically in that state, wanted to come to work the fields.
So you're gonna have to go into detail of what you're referring to.

I distinctly remember mexican migrant workers picking tomatoes around here. 25 plus years ago.
Today, none. Machines do it.
(and yes, I said "mexican", as that's what they called them selves).
I know many, MANY farmers in this area. Granted, it's a small segment of the u.s.
None of them use migrants, or illegals to harvest crops.
Those crops are harvested, and shipped to what we call "elevators"......storage sites, feed grinders, etc. No illegals involved - that's grains (wheat, corn, soybeans), tomatoes, cabbage, alfalfa, etc.
All the work done by u.s. citizens.
So what is this "industry as a whole" thing?
I don't know. Once the crops are out of the field, they are taken to legal businesses that process them.
I guess, according to a few, they still think the agriculture business is using slave labor. Perhaps. But certainly not here, in n.w. Ohio. Those dang tomato picking machines put a lot of legal migrants out of work.
Cousin worked for a harvesting crew a few years back. He/they hit many states. They took off/shelled hundreds of thousands of acres of corn. Not a damn illegal among them.
All of this, done with "legal citizens" that "won't do that type of work."

I'm sure there are places where illegals can get work because they work cheaper. But those places are diminishing. JMO. But, a city slicker will come along and tell me I'm wrong. Probably even have some fancy stats to post.
This part gets to me. Why is it that nobody on either side has done anything about this??? They all should have been booted back across the border as soon as it was proved that they were illegals.

We don't count on coporations to secure our borders. We count of the Federal Government to do that.
We count on coporations to provide jobs. Take out the illegals, willing to work for lower wages out of the mix, guess what? Wages go up. Supply and demand. President Trump looks to be a corp. guy in your view. So answer this.....why is he against cheap labor rolling in every day, if your coporate theory is true? He is going against what you would think would be what coporations would want. No?

I like Mexicans. They are a Christian People, they work hard, have solid family values, dads stick with their family, unlike some naturals, but rules are rules. Have a green card to enter and work, or be naturalized. You can't just run across the border to seek the dream at my expense.
Fill out the papers, and you will get in if you are clean. This isn't rocket science here.

Slaves were brought here because one man and his family could not hire enough people to maintain a large farm or plantation. Everyone was one failed crop from disaster. You could only produce enough for your own survival. No such things as tractors. Everyone worked like dogs back then, clearing land with axes and such. There was no chance for expansion. No chance to get ahead of death.
Help was needed.
Slaves did not come cheap either. Had to buy them, feed them, house them. With Slaves you could produce enough to have extra to sell so you could buy things you didn't produce yourself. You could grow things you didn't eat, like cotton and sell it to the British.
It is how America was built. It is why we are all here.

I do agree with you that it's also illegal to hire people here illegally. So the business community is just as guilty. But no less guilty than the people whose first act of entering this country was a crime.
