just for conspiracy theory sake, a small part of me kinda thinks the lebron leaving was a wink wink deal with Gilbert, they both knew there was no way to make the team better without tanking, and no team with lebron on it could tank without it looking obvious. I think they also realized they didn't have the FO or the coaching they needed. Grant, while great and acquiring assets, couldn't really turn them into anything. I think Lebron always intended to come back after we were able to get some pieces to put around him.

Theres a big whole in that theory written in Comic Sans font.
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

Theres a big whole in that theory written in Comic Sans font. you would think, but at the same time, it had to look legit to prevent collusion issues

Cavs must have received my memo in comic sans http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/...art_river_index this is a low risk/high reward. He would easily become our best defensive Big, he's young, athletic so he can run the floor..if he can return to form, he would be the rim protector we need...He's a block machine

j/c: Sources say Sanders looks much better physically today than 6-8 weeks ago. He's been on "protein binge" to add some weight/strength https://twitter.com/AmicoHoops/status/834420211768053760

Sources on @TheVertical: Indiana assessing trade market on All-Star forward Paul George. https://twitter.com/WojVerticalNBA/status/834466982187716609I know it is highly unlikely, but what if the Celtics somehow got Butler and George.

i was hoping NOLA would grab PG13 as well. man would that make the Warriors sweat.

I like Beverly. He is a gritty player who brings some toughness to the line-up. He can also score when asked to.
He's battled some injuries this year and Gordon has been scoring for Houston........so, you never know.

Lebron came back here because he saw what we had built No disrespect intended, but I don't buy that one. Not for a minute. I think LeBron came back here to rectify a wrong and cement his legacy as one of--if not thee--greatest players in the history of the NBA. Absolutely he did, but he also saw what we had going and realized he had a chance to accomplish that and be back home

Tiago Splitter. It almost seems like an expiring contract deal since he's injured right now.

I love this team. They are the closest team I've ever seen, I believe that's what's making some of these deals we are trying to do so hard...don't want to mess with chemistry, more and more it looks like we are going to probably just wait for buyouts..which I'm fine with, my top two targets are Evans and Sanders..Everything would be fixed with those two and the bench just got 100x stronger especially when JR comes back

I am very fearful of messing up the chemistry by getting rid of any of the core players, particularly if they are well liked and fit into the culture here which I think Shump does. For as sketchy as his offense is, he's also man enough to keep hoisting them without losing his confidence and he's our best on the ball defender outside of LeBron. What kind of incremental improvement would Beverly actually be? I just don't see it, but that's why I don't get the big bucks to make these decisions. But I would be disappointed in this trade.
Now the flip side is if Griffin thinks that Beverly can be a better on the ball defender than Shump on the likes of Curry and Thompson, then maybe you do it.
I don't know. This is a tough one.
This core is tight. When going into these playoff battles, those can pay dividends. Although I also think Beverly would be well liked pretty quickly.
Tough one.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

Tough one. yeah thats why i think we haven't pulled the trigger. Beverly is slightly better than shump all around but he also fills a need, we have a crapload of 2's, but he's (Shump) also BFFs with most of the guys here. Thats why I wouldn't be surprised to see us stand pat and see what is available at buyout...I'm thinking we are hoping Evans gets bought out. But you have guys like Jack and Chalmers/Cole that could be signed without sacrificing much, if we trade shump for anything, it'll be a playmaker

Yeah, I'd much rather just sign Free Agents at this point. The playoff roster is already set. We just need guys that can take minutes now and save the rest of the team from burning out.
That's what really why a guy like Delly has value was to the team. Yeah, he didn't get a lot of playoff minutes, but he went 110% in the early part of the season when Kyrie was trying to get healthy. By the time the playoffs came, Delly was probably a little burned out from the season, but he's also a big part of the reason why Kyrie was fresh and ready to go.

Maybe Philly buys out Bogut and we can sign him?

He hasn't played in an NBA since 2014. If I'm the Cavs I want the known entity over the wildcard.

there's plenty of tape on Sanders. Lue said the talent is still there...at this point its conditioning, he's just turned 28...Bogut and his whopping 3.0ppg isn't going to do much, plus he's dealing with leg injuries...sure theres no risk in signing him, but he'll end up like Jones, mcrae and felder, just being there and not doing anything. It's not like Sanders couldn't play anymore..plus Sanders was coached by Boylan and Drew..so theres that as well.

Sounds like they are going to possibly do the same with Okafor as well. Man, that's crazy. The team suffered so much to be in position to draft really good players, and now they are just giving them away instead of actually developing them. The Sixers have also really struggled to find a good, consistent PG. That really hurts a young team, and really hurts young bigs. I also hope that they buy out Bogut, and that maybe we can add him. That would be a huge pickup. That would give us a full 15 on the roster, and we could always trade one of our youngsters if we found a quality, veteran PG to add.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

From what I've been reading, it sounds like the Cavs are holding off on signing Sanders until they can find out about the availability of Bogut. It seems like he's the preferred center.

So apparently Dan Gilbert invited Charles Oakley to sit a few rows behind him at tonight's Cavs/Knicks game. ... No word yet on whether alcohol was included in the deal.
