Well, I mean, it's true. I'm 31, and I barely remember a time when the Browns pre-selling the team were any good.

We've been to the playoffs once since coming back. There's a reason why we're not necessarily a hot-bed for Free Agents. But that's why there is a draft. If there wasn't, everyone would want to play in LA, Miami, and New York

EDIT: Assuming they have a spot to make the team or to start, etc

Only 50% of 1st round picks make it anyway.

Anyone drafted after the top 100 ,(115), overall can't be really counted on to ever change an NFL team for the better.

2nd, 3rd, and 4th, round picks are probably a little worse that 1 out of 3 are going to make it.

And HALF, Half of your first round picks are going to make it.

What does this all mean. It means, you'd better stop looking at the draft to turn your team around. I know you can't " ignore" the draft and expect to get good over time, but: the playoff teams every year,

those teams aren't putting their fortunes into new round draft picks,
Because it takes time.

So? So identify who's on your team that can cut the mustard, stick with that, and add a little bit of strength here and there, each year, through the draft.

You have to keep the team together. Stop assuming every draft pick is supposed to make the team, because that doesn't happen on the really good teams.

Then, you have to build an identity, there has to be some sort of identity, there just has to be, because, otherwise, "free agency" is not going to allow you to get better if Allll the players want to play somewhere else.

OH ya! Pay somebody market value once in a while, commit to your "good" playes, if you committed to your good players, maybe you'd get "more" good ones.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Reading how so many posters (and ESPN) have fallen in love with Garrett only shows me that the same posters (or ESPN) never watched Tenneesse to see Barnett.

Garrett is not going to be the next Miller, but Barnett is going to be the next Khalil ... mark it down

OK, I get your sarcasm but the most hype certainly comes from sports broadcasting and I follow the SEC mostly. So while I realize the hype, I also realize my own eyes. Manziel, Quinn, Richardson to name just a few hypes.

I'm the biggest fan of barnett on here probably and even I wouldNT call him mack. Mack is truly the best defender in the league right now. That's unnecessary praise and just sets yourself up for failure. Tamba Hali, Trent Cole, James Harrison, cam wake sure. Mack? No. Even myles isn't mack and for that matter we were fools to pass on him.

I'd trade down in a heart beat. I value myles as much as most but myles alone imo is not worth as much as Barnett plus compensation. Not even close actually. Especially if it's the Jets. I could see them tank easily and they are backed against the wall

He may be. I live in Tennessee and follow the Vols to a degree. I am a Gator above all else. Barnett did break Reggis Whites Vol sack record. I don't think he is near as good as Reggie was, but still, that's saying something.

I am getting a bit tired of the rhetoric by some on here that anyone who likes Garrett only likes him because of the hype and his highlight reels.

It's like you guys are soooooooooo much smarter than us dummies.

So hyped players that we draft can only be bad?

You literally compared Myles Garrett to Von Miller. If he is Von Miller you take him.

Actually I said he is not Von Miller, if I thought he was that good I'd say take him at #1

Didn't intend to refer to anyone as 'dummies', just voicing my opinion after having watched both players this year. I never said I didn't like Garrett, I would just prefer to trade down a few and grab Barnett. I think thats the smarter move for longevity.
