Democrats just cannot understand that concept.

But, the question gets posed of "why do we waste money on these people? Why don't they have the wherewithal to go get jobs, food, etc?"

This is why it matters, Eve. Barely anyone knows the plight of the oppressed, and that's due to a complacency to not understand the world. Awful legislation gets shoved through due ignorance of the oppressed. Just look at the DAPL.

How does #MakeAmericaGreatAgain address the plight of the oppressed? How is today a "new day" when we keep using the same policies that actively seek to oppress minorities?

Free lunch programs exist in many different schools. Inner-city, rural, suburbs, Native American reservations, and Alaska Native villages.

The poster I replied to insinuated it's not the minoritys fault that kids can't get fed at home. Yet, many fail to see the underlying causes for the plight of oppressed groups.

Its not a question about plights. History doesnt matter. Only current state matters. Either you qualify for free lunches or you dont. You shouldnt get things for free just because your ancestors had it rough. Today is a new day.

One of the primary responsibilities of ANY leader is to make sure his people are FED and don't DIE. IF you care about your people that you are sworn to protect then at the VERY LEAST you won't let the innocent kids go hungry.

Let me also add that when kids go hungry people will die. A desperate person can suffer and think of suicide but you get a desperate parent who cares about his kids watching his kids go hungry cause he can't find work and you will quickly find a person willing to kill to feed them. Even the nicest people will kill to feed their kids when desperate enough.

That's why we have foodstamps. To keep people from murdering and rampaging to feed their kids. It's because we understand that people can go through hard times or lose their way and if we can just help the kids out the parents might survive it and come back to humanity. At the very least we can hope the kids will survive and have a CHANCE.

If I were king my people would always be fed no matter what. They would always have a place to live no matter what. Finding ways for my people to have work and have self respect and personal wealth would always be a priority right afterwards. The number one way for that is to educate the hell out of them. Matter of fact I would only allow for work, school, or retirement. I would never allow for the current welfare system that rewards for doing nothing. If you can't find a job then we are going to keep training you till someone can put you to work. While your training we will make sure you are your family are taken care of until you get the job you need to care for them. That's because I would rather have a nation of scholars than lazy bums. I would rather pay people to go to school then lock them up in jails. I would rather care about the person than to toss them out like trash. I just won't tolerate those who commit violence against their fellow man or woman. That would be my kingdom =) Healthy, well fed, and productive people who treat each other with kindness.
