In my opinion, keeping Pryor is more important than re-signing Collins.

I think Pryor is still raw and has a lot of room to grow. I think he has enough arrogance that he will work his butt off to become the best WR he can possibly be. That is NOT an insult. I have never had a problem w/guys who want to be the best. Competitiveness is a good thing and I don't care what soccer moms say. LOL

Hopefully, the two sides can come together. There is still time.

I agree. The point I was making was that he is in a "between" mode right now. I just don't think Teams are gonna throw $$$ at him without a bigger sample size. I mean someone listed some pretty good receivers and the money they were getting was around 8 - 9 mil a yr. So that tells me that even a good experienced Rec. is getting less than 10/mil a yr. I think our FO is letting him set his price in FA and then we'll better it.

Tagging Pryor means you are setting a price at 15m and placed that as a value you are willing to spend. Once you offer an amount it very difficult negotiating smaller later. Paying Pryor top dollar gives him no incentive elevating his game.

Personally I think Sashi offers Pryor 10 or 11 with a second year option. Pryor continues elevating his play make him highest paid receiver next year with a long term contract. If Pryor gets hurt, extend the option.

Right now agent most likely is demanding top pay. Sashi thinking 8-9. I see no reason for both sides not to see what others are willing to pay. Pryor is a unique case.

pit...if these Harvard boys don't know how to utilize all the negotiating tools that are available..if they can't structure a contract using "incentives", they should not be negotiating contracts.

If Pryor performs or out-performs incentives, you pay the man...
...if Pryor fails to perform on the field and does not reach performance incentives..the Browns should be protected if the H-Boys structure the contract fairly.

Losing some of our best players, "on a yearly basis" because the front office is not experienced enough to negotiate the contracts cannot be tolerated.

If the front office loses another player because they could not get a deal done, there needs to be changes made in the front office.

There are no acceptable excuses for not getting these players signed...none...

What you fail to understand is that players and agents aren't looking for incentive based contracts.

A. Brown just signed a contract that doesn't have incentives. It's a signing bonus, yearly salaries, and a series of roster bonuses.

Pryor isn't looking for a contact that pays him X if he has 50 catches or Y if he has 95 catches.

The only real incentive in front of him is making the team.

Here is a link on Browns contract.

There we go....we finally have squeezed it out of him! Haha.
