Kirk Cousins appealed personally to owner Dan Snyder for a trade but was basically told not to get his hopes up, per sources. I feel physically ill. What a friggin mess

#Redskins are signing DT Terrell McClain, per source. 4 yr deal north of $21M. They fill a big need in the trenches.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

W/#Browns giving WR Kenny Britt $8.1M a year, he has effectively replaced Pryor. Still a chance they'll re-sign him If we're going to rely on Britt as a #1, I don't think he'll flourish here much. With where they drafted Coleman, the better hope he is the #1 receiver. Still replacing Pryor with Britt is a probably downgrade. Pryor still might have some upside, Britt is what he is (which is very similar to what Pryor is today). Also, Mary Kay Cabot has lost almost all credibility with me (I am sure she is devastated to learn this). Darts at a dartboard.

The belief is that the #Saints will be able to trade away WR Brandin Cooks by this afternoon. #Patriots, #Titans remain in the mix.

I know Coleman's play has been limited with injury and all, but he's not a #1 WR either IMO, based on what I saw when he did play. Those drops were tough for me to watch granted how much we spent to draft him.

Profootballtalk reports the Browns aren't "necessarily" out on free agent Terrelle Pryor after signing Kenny Britt.
Not necessarily, but for all intents and purposes they are. It could lower Pryor's price in free agency, as he no longer has the Browns and their infinite cap space to use as a cudgel. Pryor is supposedly drawing interest from 4-5 other teams.

LOS ANGELES -- The Rams addressed their two most pressing needs on Thursday, agreeing to terms with veteran left tackle Andrew Whitworth and former USC receiver Robert Woods, sources told ESPN.

They drafted two offensive linemen high in the draft recently (Ogbuehi and Fisher). If they don't work out, they are screwed.

The Jaguars will never learn. I don't know what the contract is going to be but I would have liked to see him as a Brown regardless of the short history of playing at the level he did last year. From PFF: ""7. A.J. Bouye, CB, Houston Texans A.J. Bouye was one of the breakout players of the 2016 season, likely earning himself a lot of money. The risk is that anybody handing him that contract is working from just one season of tape, but it was one consistent season—the expected regression never really came—and it does feature 17 games, thanks to Houston’s playoff campaign. Over the year, Bouye allowed just 50.5 percent of passes thrown his way to be caught for a passer rating of 58.5 from opposing QBs.""
The more things change the more they stay the same.

Before anyone says, "let's get Cutler," I am going to say No. He would be a terrible fit on a young and impressionable team that loses a lot of games.

I didn't say he was a "horrible guy." I said he would be a bad fit on this team.
There is just so much negativity surrounding the guy and the questions remain about him. I didn't invent the questions and the rep. But, they are there.
We don't have to agree..........but again, I just don't think the Browns can take a chance on bringing in a guy w/that much baggage to such a young team that has lost a ton of games.

I'd be happy to roll with Cutler or Romo for a year or two if the odds of a week 1 injury weren't scaring the heck out of me.

We wouldn't call him and he wouldn't pick up the phone if we did. Cutler....where do I begin? His record through college and the NFL, his record against the Bears #1 rival, his awful interception ratio, his one trip to the playoffs, his recent injury problems, his age, his attitude and his potential cost. Vers is right, Cutler would set this team back, if that's possible.

I'm still flabbergasted at what Glennon got, in years, money, and guarantees. Check out his profile pic on his Pre Football Reference page. He's like an ostrich.

We were rumored to be going after this guy: Former Jags S Johnathan Cyprien is going to do a deal today after 4pm with the Titans, per source. https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/839916784388026370I was kind of wary of him. One big season, can't cover. I am glad we didn't sign him. I'd rather have Michah Hyde.

I'm glad we didn't sign him either.
I would stay away from Hyde, too.
I am hoping we address the secondary in a big way during the draft.
I realize that many young secondary players struggle at first, but we aren't going to be a playoff contender next year. I really believe that this may be the best secondary draft class that I can ever remember.

Yeah I'm glad we missed on him. Jefferson is an in the box safety, but he can cover. I really wanted him. Cyprien just isn't the same type of player and can't cover at all.
Jags fans were doing flips on Twitter when the team walked away from Cyprien...lol.

Do we have a guy on our roster that's like a poor man's Jefferson (an in the box safety that can sorta cover)?

No. Campbell is an in the box guy, but he isn't good in coverage.
As Vers said the Browns best bet is to fill these holes through what is arguably the best secondary draft in years. Jefferson would have been nice, but guys like Cyprien and Hyde I personally hope go elsewhere.

Cyp had a breakout year last year because they had a guy playing center field and he was allowed to be a box safety. He would be okay if you paired him with a FS with range like Hooker, but since we aren't sure that we'll have one of those, it's probably best that we didn't sign him.

Big time move..love it!!!! OL got a ton better today.
This also probably means they will concentrate on D in the draft (as well as using picks to draft/trade for QB)
