If the Raiders get Marshawn Lynch, and he is anything close to what he was with the Seahawks, I think they are the best non-Patriots team in the AFC. I know Lynch is supposed to go to the Raiders, but God would I love to have him on our team for a year or two. ____________________________________________ Would Richard Sherman be worthy of our 12th pick? Lynch is from Oakland. They're the only team he will play for. On Sherman. If I were a team ready to contend in 2017, I would consider trading a high pick for Sherman. We are not ready to contend in 2017.

he wants out of seattle why? That defensive system fits him. I too am curious, if it's true, why he wants out. I'd have to pass because anything Sherman related is going to come with a huge price tag and I personally don't want to spend that much for a big time talker (that yes, usually back it up on the field but I hate hearing him run that trap of his, i really do) and someone that's getting up there in age.

Usually older corners that switch teams, especially if a specific style of play is involved, go on to do not so much beyond making a lot of money and talking a lot.

My wife was overjoyed to see Simms go. Hates Aikman the most. She loves her some mute button when he works. The only guys to carry on about everything on the field apparently are Qbs. I loved Madden. So long, Simms.

I don't believe it's exactly a case of him wanting out, but more about Seattle wanting to deal him. They're using him as an asset to built draft capital. I did hear the FO is being completely transparent with Sherman, keeping him in the loop, and that he's good with the decision to try to trade him. As far as him coming here, no thank you. The price would be too high, IMO, and we'd be taking a high pick in the draft fairly soon to replace him anyway. Great player, not the right time for Browns+Sherman.

I'm indifferent on Simms, he's like background noise to me. I actually like Aikman. As for Romo, I know a lot of people are upset over how a guy with no booth experience gets to go to the front of the line on day 1, but whatever. He'll do well. I'm glad he's hanging up his cleats. Guy was too brittle and would only get everyone's hopes up in Houston. I suppose it puts the Texans in play for a QB in the draft, which might hurt our ability to get the guy we want, but what are you gonna do? Maybe the Texans sign Keap? He's a better fit than Cutler (Mr. Soul Crushing Interception).

Timmy Jernigan - DL - EaglesEagles newly-acquired DT Timmy Jernigan said he is "excited" to play in DC Jim Schwartz's scheme.
Jernigan is excited to be moving to the one-gap, attacking scheme. "Being at Florida State for a couple years, we were more of a read (defense) there, then I went to Baltimore and we read a little bit there," Jernigan said. "Last year in Baltimore we started attacking a little bit more and I had my best year, so it’s going to be exciting." Playing in a scheme he likes next to Fletcher Cox, Jernigan could be in line for a career year.

I wish we could have gotten jernigan Same. I wonder if the Ravens were unwilling to trade him within the division (especially because they didn't get much for him).

So I assume they "had" to get rid of him?
Because Ozzie loves him some Comp picks.

Because Ozzie loves him some Comp picks. I don't know. It was a weird trade. The Panthers did something similar with Kony Ealy and said this draft was so good they just wanted to move up a few spots. Weird all around.

I mean, I would have offered a 3-4 rounder honestly. They just switched spots.

Richard Sherman - What would it take to get him and is he worth getting? Serious question. Well, based on discussions for trading other players we've had on this forum. I assume a 4th rounder. (But seriously, I doubt we're going to trade for a high priced 29 year old CB)

I read in one place (I think rotoworld) that the Seahawks are looking for a 1st and a player. The analysis said that there's no way they'll get both. The norm is a draft pick or a player.
I also heard on NFL Radio (not sure which show) that at this point, the best they can hope for is a mid 2nd, more likely a 3rd round pick.
It's all conjecture so take it for what it's worth.
Am I perfect? No Am I trying to be a better person? Also no

I wonder if Seattle is starting to feel the weight of Wilsons contract.
The interesting thing is what Lynch does.
He could just say "I'm back" and boom, Seattle owes him 9 million.

So Johnathan Hankins is still available.
Apparently was asking for 10 mil per.
Then guys like Poe took less.
I'd throw an offer at him, "3 years, 6-7mil per year" with the promise that if he outperforms it, we'll tear it up and pay him more..

I"d give Hankins four years, 10 million each. HE's young and good. We have the space. He'd fit here

Can't they play together? We are switching to a 4-3 or thereabouts. We could rotate and keep everybody fresh. Do you think they are too similar? If so then we don't need 2 Shelton's.

You can't have enough good DL (especially being young and switching to a 4-3). Adding him to a DL with Shelton, Garrett, Ogbah would be nice

Cleveland needs another run stopper to team with Shelton. Someone having more speed than Meder. I think you find one middle to late round in the draft.

JC....signing him would eliminate the possible need to draft a interior lineman.
That would be a wicked good DL.
That would let us concentrate on adding backfield plyers, a strength in this draft, and possibly add more offensive weapons earlier on in the draft.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn. GM Strong

Direct correlation between the number of guys talking and the quality of the coverage IMO.
Panels add little beyond annoyance for me and the wife. Pile them up like cordwood, arrange for them to disagree, and let them blather like it is an attraction. Madden actually taught some folks things. Wife noted the other day that ESPN and NFL channels had gotten sillier and worse.
Why is that happening? I could not explain it to her. Dumb programming IOO (in our opinions). Those were better days if not the good old days.

Bard, I think the reason ESPN and the NFL Network have gotten worse is because there's not enough real news to fill the 24hr time slots of those programs so the real meat of them gets thinner and thinner, or as you and the wife put it, "sillier and worse".
They regurgitate the same stories until there's nothing new to discover. In addition, they try to make story lines on subjects where there are no real story lines. They do it to fill the time.
