First off, I'd like to say thank you to everyone participating in this. This thread is the official thread for the mock draft, meaning all picks and trades must be posted in this thread. Picks can be discussed in the currently open thread or we can create a new one. The draft order will be be posted in this thread at the start of every round. Rules:These can be changed at any point during the draft to allow for greater fluidity in the face of an unforseen obstacle. ---- The Cleveland Browns
1. The Cleveland Brown's first four picks in the NFL draft will be voted on in a poll lasting for 24 hours.
2. Players must be nominated by two different board members to appear in the poll. Members are only allowed one nomination per pick. No member can second more than 4 players per that pick. If these rules are broken, the member's selections will not be counted.
3. The nomination process will start after the selection of the previous Cleveland Browns selection.
4. Board members will either vote for who is GM after the Browns last second round pick, or have a very violent king of the hill tournament.
5. The Browns are allowed to trade picks throughout the draft. However, the board has a 12 hour time limit to decide whether to trade the pick or not. Vote done by a poll. However the Browns, during the first two rounds, cannot propose a trade to any team. The team that trades with the Browns will have to make their selection immediately after the 12 hour window.
6. After the Browns last second round pick, when a GM is found for the team, the Browns will then adhere to the conventional rules of the league in terms of trading, time limits, and selection independence.
The Draft ------- 1. All GMs must try to make their picks in a timely manner. The time limit is not entirely for pondering, it's to give you enough time if you face any conveniences with your life and getting on here to make your pick. Please use it accordingly.
2. For the first round, every GM will have 10 hours to make a selection. The clock begins after the GM before you makes his selection. I will attempt to immediately notify every GM when they are on the clock, but my omnipresence skills are still developing and I won't always be able to do so. You are still expected to make your selection during the time allotted.
3. For the second through fifth rounds, the time limit for selections will be 8 hours. For the sixth and seventh round, the time limit will be four hours.
4. Trades are allowed. However, they must be accepted within the first two hours of that selection's time limit and the pick must be in an hour after that. Both teams must post that they agree to the trade in the draft thread.
5. GM's are only allowed to trade picks during this year's draft. Absolutely no players can be traded.
6. If you miss your selection, your team will automatically draft the highest player from either that team's preset queue or BPA will be taken for that team.
7. Every GM is allowed to have an ever-updating queue of players, just in case they are not able to pick during their time limit. It's up to the individual GM's to update said list. GM's can either post their queue in the draft talk thread or PM the commissioner. If I do not see the queue, or every player on your queue has been selected by the end of the pick's time limit, then BPA will be selected for you.
8. The methodology of BPA will be explained by the commissioner during the forced selection.
8. The time limit will pause at the hour 3AM EST and immediately resume at 8 AM. Picks can still be made at these times, but the time limit will not be enforced. TEAMS STILL NEEDED: 1. Tampa Bay Bucs 2. Denver Broncos 3. LV Raiders 4. Atlanta Falcons 5. Minnesota Vikings

You have until 2 PM EST to find and complete a trade. The person you traded with must pick a player 1 hour after the trade is finalized. Finalized being whenever you and him post the terms to the trade here.

Ok I don't believe the Niners are looking for a QB in this draft with Cousins most likely coming this year or next so a trade is what I want to do because SF needs D and some skill on their O, the Niners can use the extra picks ... So any takers?

Ok NO TRADE ... The NINERS are looking forward to bringing in Kurt Cousins either in 2017 but most likely 2018, meaning no QB with an early pick in this draft, they may take a flyer on a QB on day 3. Therefore the one thing SF has been doing over the last 2 drafts is building a very solid DL, in 2015 they selected ARIK ARMSTEAD from OREGON with the 17th Pick in the 1st RD. in 2016 The NINERS selected DeFOREST BUCKNER also out OREGON with the 7th Pick in the 1st RD. ... So this year SF will make there DL as solid as any in the NFL by moving down the coast and SELECTING out of their own backyard ...
SOLOMON THOMAS DE STANFORD WITH PICK #2 IN THE 2017 DRAFT :

With the 4th pick, in the 2017 NFL Draft, The Jacksonville Jaguars select..
Leonard Fournette, Running Back, Louisiana State University
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

Statistics are like a bikini; what they show is interesting, but what they hide is vital. Drive for show (1st round), Putt for dough (rest of draft).

CHS et al: I'm sure that we all appreciate the time and effort that you have/are putting into this mock and it is very enjoyable participating and learning. However, the Browns pick IMO, is killing the momentum that built up once the mock kicked off. The selection is taking far too long and while the pick by majority is an interesting idea, I feel the process must be either sped up or assigned to a poster deemed worthy to execute what may possibly be the Browns game plan. Please take this as a constructive criticism for I find the participation most enjoyable...

I offered to pick for the Browns. I didn't sign up because I did not like the decision of making the Brown's pick a majority decision. I saw too many problems w/it.
I will say that I have been following the picks and you guys are doing a nice job w/other teams. I will also say......that reviewing who is on the board........and although I am against a trade down in this draft..........a trade down would probably be what is best at this point.
The two best players remaining are Barnett and Reddick. That's tough because we drafted Garrett and we also have Collins and Kirksey at LBer. This is a case of the horizontal board becoming a true factor.
If you don't want me to pick for the Browns and save the day...LOL............maybe you guys should take a strong look at Corey Davis. It's a little high, but he's right on the edge of the Vertical board and would make sense on the Horizontal board since we lost Pryor.

Vers, you need to pick for the Broncos. I wanted you to be proud of us @ #12 and see us not select a QB, but that unfortunately won't be the case. I want you to partake and draft though. Please do.

hoping cleveland takes that detroit trade ...
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I thought Canadadawg had been assigned Denver. I too, want Vers, to take part though. I've gone through marking times of posts, and picks, Only thing, this morning, that I wasn't sure about were the people asking about the trades, so I went back, A trade was mentioned in the "other thread" ( K9 forum, title was "fhm do you accept the trade" I think) but that was with Denver, and nobody brought it up a 2nd time yesterday, or 2nd'd it for the poll. A trade was mentioned for Detroit, but nobody 2nd'd it, before 11, pm last night. The pick, previous to the Browns pick was made at 2:44 pm yesterday. PastorMarc, first proposed, Trubisky to nominate for the Browns number 12 pick at 2:55 am the night before yesterday. The poll by CHS went up yesterday, before 6pm, the options included in the poll didn't mention a trade down. Trade downs are supposed to have the 1st 2 hours of a pick. I didn't vote in the poll until about 7:30 last night, first results I remember , after my vote Mitch Trubisky had a 2 vote lead, (I voted for mitch) 6-4, and 40% at that time. Afterwards I checked back at least 4, 5 or 6 times last night and the poll results each time had Trubisky leading, by 3, 2, and this morning by 4 votes,, with between 24- and this morning 31 votes cast. (maybe that 24<<< number should have been a 29, not sure.) Anyway I think I have enough evidence to say, Trubisky is going to be the Browns pick, at 12 The Arizona Cardinals are on the clock. I pick for the Arizona Cardinals, .... Last night at 11:40 pm, I pm'd Clevesteve a change of my mind to the pick I had pm'd CHS that the Cardinals would take As far as I know, CHS wants the Browns to take the player (included in the poll, but not Trubisky) that I pm'd him the Cards were going to take after the Browns pick. The Player I Pm'd last night to Clevesteve, which I changed my mind to, that the Cardinals should now take, is also (included in the poll, but not Trubisky) And my 2nd choice to the pick for the Cardinals, both yesterday and last night, this morning, is a player who is not included in the Browns poll. Thus I propose, The Cleveland Browns select Mitch Trubisky, Qb North Carolina. The Arizona Cardinals are on the clock. The Arizona Cardinals select Mike Williams, Wide Receiver, Clemson. and the 14th pick Philadelphia is on the clock Objections? If too many objections, I can switch to my 2nd choice for Ariz, who's not in this poll, but I think some on here still hoped to pick up later on. (based on thread discussions)

2 hrs is probably not enough time for trades IMO. Whatever is good with the rest tho

You're welcome to take either the Titans or the Seahawks from me. I don't need two teams.

With the 14th pick of the draft, th Eagles select Derek Barnett - DE, Tennessee
The more things change the more they stay the same.
