China did nothing.

As he starved his own people while building more Nukes, Obama isolated and ignored.

Now as NK has gotten to the point where the are miniaturizing those Nukes into warheads and on the verge of mounting them on ICBM's, you want to isolate and ignore him?

Earlier you posted about loving each other and now you discuss with me and finish with a personal insult.

A senior North Korean defector has told NBC News that the country's "desperate" dictator is prepared to use nuclear weapons to strike the United States and its allies.

Thae Yong Ho is the most high profile North Korean defector in two decades, meaning he is able to give a rare insight into the secretive, authoritarian regime.

According to Thae, North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un is "desperate in maintaining his rule by relying on his [development of] nuclear weapons and ICBM." He was using an acronym for intercontinental ballistic missiles — a long range rocket that in theory would be capable of hitting the U.S.

"Once he sees that there is any kind of sign of a tank or an imminent threat from America, then he would use his nuclear weapons with ICBM," he added in an exclusive interview on Sunday.

I was unaware that That Yung Ho was a NK defector.

Apparently he is and if what he says is true, we are only steps away from going at it with a Nuclear Power. Something I don't think we have ever done before. Scary.

It's too bad so many "innocent" North Korean people would perish.

Here's the thing. If Un is "desperate" in maintaining his rule, why is he focused on nukes, that would/will certainly end up destroying his country?

Why is he reliant upon other nations to feed his citizens?

If he's desperate to maintain his rule, it seems he'd be focused on improving the life of the n. koreans. Jobs, agriculture, etc. Just think what a hero he'd be if he could accomplish that.

This is the psychology of rulers who believe they are destined to rule.

I said in the past 2k years from the get go. You didn't have to Godwin the thread. Democracy is a relatively new concept for most of the world.

I don't think for a second that they have the firepower to reach the Continental US. If they could hit us, those missiles would already be in the air.

If it were to come to a war though, they will probably hit Japan right away. Japan doesn't deserve that at all.

They stand zero chance of touching U.S. soil. None.

It's not so much that he's stupid, it's that the juche ideology is completely out of control in that country thinks to Il. Un has pretty much grown up with the idea that his family are the saviors of Korea. That they can do no wrong, because he has the will of the people behind him. He is the great leader of the juche doctrine. Juche philosophy is built around the self reliance of people, that people are the biggest catalyst in history. However, it believes that one leader must rule all these people. That leader will have the will of the people behind him. And he bought that hook, line and sinker his entire life. Dude feels like he has to answer to no one. That he can do whatever he wants without consequence. It's insane.

Now that sounds more like my house.

It's a weird country and weird philosophy. For example they really put a strong emphasis on maternal leadership. You could almost make a case to where the Kim family doesn't believe in the gender binary.

North Korea fires missile as US official says 'clock has now run out' on Pyongyang

North Korea fired an apparent ballistic missile into the Sea of Japan, South Korea's military said early Wednesday.

The launch came hours after U.S. President Donald Trump described North Korea's pursuit of a nuclear arsenal as a "humanity problem" and a senior U.S. official told reporters that the "clock has now run out" on Pyongyang.

Seoul's Joint Chiefs of Staff said in a statement that the missile fired from the North's eastern coastal town of Sinpo on Wednesday morning flew about 37 miles. It gave no further details.
