Obviously the FO is under extreme pressure to get this draft right. Is it possible for them to succumb to it to the point they blow they draft? What are your thoughts on this?
------------------------------------------
I believe this current front official has a vision and a process in place that will guide the draft. And I believe they will get it right. And I have no doubt that the media will pan them anyway....either out of habit or lack of understanding.

What are the 49er's going to do ? Very good question. I believe that there is more mystery/intrigue with the #2 pick than with our #1. Depends on what we do at #1...

It's possible, but I don't think these guys will. I am impressed by the lack of leaks and innuendo coming out of Berea with this bunch. I like to think that this is a sign that these guys are owning their business and working together. They don't strike me as an emotional bunch. They are going to let facts and analysis drive the ship and let the chips fall where they fall. I'll say again that it has been amazing how tight lipped these guys have been. I think they're dialed in. I know there have been a few rumors this past week, but I think the Browns are purposely planting those.

One thing is certain.
Going into this draft, the Browns - by far - have the best collection of draft picks.
Anything less than the Browns draft results being rated the best is a major disappointment.
Ok, sure, a little pressure. But given the Browns picks, most Dawgtalkers could walk away with the best overall draft.

Ok, sure, a little pressure. But given the Browns picks, most Dawgtalkers could walk away with the best overall draft. QB being graded low this year. It'll be funny. If Browns decide to pass on a QB, no matter what they do they will receive an "F." For Cleveland, this draft is literally a breeze. If they didn't worry about a QB, they easily land 4 starters maybe pro bowl material in first two rounds. I can live with taking a QB. Trading up getting a QB will hurt. I'm really puzzled what New England done this off season. Only thing I see this draft is so rich rounds 3-5 it doesn't matter passing first two rounds.

Just for the Record...every team has pressure to get it right. Yeah, but pointing out the Browns futility makes a good story, so there's that. turnover in the league is often...FA also evens out the plain. Outside of the mid round WRs last year I thought our draft was very solid. This year we added FA. That pick up with Seattle's back up Safety might be big. This draft will have quality for us...3-5 very good players as in possible starters to Pro Bowlers.
jmho Things are changing...the Media will be the LAST to get that part right. Not their fault...we got to show ALL.

The Jets WILL take a QB. So, if they are all on the board at 6 it will be interesting to see who goes first. Watson or Trubisky.
And, are we sure Chicago wont take a QB at 3? We're not sure, but I'd be surprised given some of the defensive talent that will be there at #3.

Who is the better prospect/upside guy at this point in their careers: Trubisky or Tanehill? Um, Trubisky?

I believe they'll be well prepared this year, will have a plan in place, and will execute it to the point where we'll come out of this draft much improved. I agree with the poster who said, take Garrett and let the rest of the draft come to them, however that goes; BPA, trades, move up, move down, etc. That's what I want to see most of all.

Agreed. No desperation Weeden moves. I think the FO is cool and calm, has gone through all the eventualities. They just need to execute. Their place in folklore awaits. This has been so bad for so long. They can make their places in Browns' history starting with a good draft. Go for it.

Not sure why everyone is discounting Mitch at #2 ... I think he's a PERFECT fit for the Rat Jr. ...
If Rat Jr. Likes him enough .. he will pull the trigger ...
He may not take him .. but to not even mention him as a possibility is very very misleading to me ...

I'm not discounting the possibility of Trub @ 2, just think they'll go D. But of, course, I could be wrong.

There is a lot of talk about Garret vs Trubisky. I don't think there is much question that Garrett wins that battle. However, are their other players that should be in the conversation for #1.
Jamal Adams or Malik Hooker? These players have the talent but safety doesn't have the positional value
Jonathon Allen? This discussion has already been exhausted, seems as if Garrett won quite handily His shoulders give me pause about taking him #1 overall.
That leaves one other potential candidate. Solomon Thomas 6'3 273# Ran a 4.69 forty
2016 Statistics 62 tackles 15 TFL 8 Sacks 7 Qb hits
Non-Conference opponents were Kansas state, Rice , ND and UNC While Rice was pretty crummy, they were no UT-San Antonio
Why does he not get discussed as a possibility with the #1 overall? Many postulate that he could be very Aaron Donald like.

Now I'm really wondering if they'll somehow manage to blow the most "No-Brainer" draft we've had since The Return. My wife thinks it's all smokescreen. Me, I'm not so sure. If they pass on Garrett, they should all be fired immediately.

I wouldn't agree with firing them immediately. Lots of consensus choices have been wrong. But lord knows thay had better be right.

Guys Relax, We are taking Garrett at #1, Sashi stated that we have known who #1 is for two weeks now. He also said that teams cannot over value QBs. He also said that are not desperate for a QB and will not make a desperate move in taking one.
So we will not be moving up for one we are not taking one at #1 We might move up to 5,6 if a targeted player is there but I doubt it will be a QB now. I think we would take Trubisky at 12 if he is there when we pick but I'm not even sure of that.

If we really must get a QB at 12 why wouldn't we try and trade that pick to Cincy for AJ McCarron? They are on the record that they would take a 1st rd'r for him.

Let's assume the Browns FO does have a plan and Sashi's comments about not being QB needy and not reaching is true. Then what will the Browns do?
If I've heard it - I'm sure the Browns have about the negatives with Garrett. I'm also sure that they know they absolutely must get Day 1 plug and play players out of this draft. I believe the Trub thing is a smoke screen and they are looking to trade down. It's the only reason in the world why any rumor would be out there about drafting a second round talent with 13 starts #1 over all. They also have Garrett to dangle so it's set up perfectly.
So many teams are looking to trade down but IMHO, there's 2 to 3 teams that are willing to trade up. NYJets @ #6, Washington @ #17 and the Saints @ #11. Washington will probably only go after the Browns #12 if QB's are available but the Saints and NYJets are teams that would go after the #1 pick. I don't believe the Jets are going into the season with Hackenburg or McCown. I also think the Saints would mortgage the team to get Garrett.
In either case, we would get their one this year, their one next year and with the Saints their 2nd round next year and with the Jets their 3rd this year. That would give the Browns all the ammo they would need to get their choice QB in 2018. They pick up an extra pick in the 2nd or third and they can still address the defense with blue chip players. Washington will have to address QB because Cousins will be leaving - bank on it. Even for the 12 pick the Browns could get 3 for 1 from Washington. At #6, the Browns would actually get a better all around player than Garrett.
IMHO, there's something brewing in Berea and it's not about Garrett or Trub.

Unless we have the first pick in 2018, no one will trade that kind of talent for more picks. I wouldn't trade out of 1 either.

And Sam Darnold is only a redshirt sophomore, so he can stay in school (I would bet on him staying right now). Darnold is a USC legacy kid. His parents were both huge USC fans before he went there and his grandfather is a USC legend in volleyball (his name is Dick Hammer and he was the Marlboro Man).

GC. It's Christmas Day!
"11 PICKS, ALL OF FRONT 7 DEFENDERS" Still mathematically possible! What would Marty do, or Farmer, or Heckert, or Mangini, or Marvin Lewis, or Ozzie Newsome, or Cowher, or Bill Polian, or Parcells, or Ditka, or 49ers of old, or Al Davis, or Elway, or the Shula's or the Rooneys', or Jerry Glanville, or Romeo Crennel, or Bernie or others, What would Joe Thomas do, if he were picking for the Brown's this year.
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.
