Interesting possibility. Maybe terms are too rich for this package. Pretty steep to alternate. Solid guaranteed amount, three year, and incentives. Re-do in third year if a good fit with healthy player perhaps. Four is a bunch. JMO

Eagles agree to terms with former Raiders' QB Matt McGloin on a one-year contract. https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/851459697823449088McGloin was the guy I was hoping for if we were going to sign a crappy veteran QB.

Marshawn Lynch - RB - Seahawks
The Boston Herald's Jeff Howe reports Marshawn Lynch has "privately expressed interest" in playing for the Patriots "if talks break off with the Raiders."
Talks between Lynch and the Raiders seem to not have much movement to them, though we would expect negotiations to pick up as we draw nearer to the draft. It's possible Lynch is floating the Patriots idea out to the media as a way to get the Raiders moving with this. It sounds like Lynch fully plans to make a comeback. He just needs he Raiders and coach Jack Del Rio to sign off on it.

Johnathan Hankins - DL - Free Agent
ESPN's Field Yates reports free agent DT Johnathan Hankins is visiting the Colts. It's his first-known visit. Easily the top overall player still on the market, Hankins is trying to increase his leverage with the Giants. Still only 25, Hankins would be a big get, both literally and figuratively, for a Colts defense that needs help in every phase. The Colts have close to zero defensive line talent.

Seahawks grabbed up Dion Jordan.
If he's anything more than a good rotational pass rusher it's a win for them.

Johnathan Hankins - DL - Free Agent
The Indianapolis Star reports the Colts are unlikely to sign free agent DT Johnathan Hankins. Hankins left his visit Tuesday without a contract. The Colts have a huge need at nose tackle, but aren't willing to meet Hankins' asking price. With Miami also reportedly out on Hankins, re-signing with the Giants is looking like his most likely landing spot.

I like the idea of Hankins on our line, but he appears to have priced himself unreasonably.

When Jordan was coming out I said he was not a good pass rusher, but he could excel as a coverage linebacker. Bradley had just left for Jacksonville and I joked that he would draft Jordan as a cornerback instead of a DE.

I really thought that when the Dolphins drafted Jordan that they did so to be able to match up with Gronk. Big and fast, and good in coverage. Then I see them trying to make him into a pass rusher and became confused as to why they drafted him so high.

There were some good guys, but the first round is littered with busts: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2013/draft.htm

literally the worst draft of all time. it's crazy that we had a bust in Mingo, but in retrospect, it's pretty difficult to even say who to draft

Crazy part is it was actually a pretty good second and third round.
That was the year we were offered a trade down from Buffalo and didn't take it (managed to screw up two Buffalo 1st round trades in two years). I was hoping we would move back and pick up Amerson in the second, but the guy I wanted in the first was Jarvis Jones... and that didn't work out so well.

I thought the trade we passed on was with St. Louis? They eventually found another partner a couple picks later. They really wanted Tavon from what I understood at the time.
At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

Former Giants' DT Johnathan Hankins, the top-rated available free agent, is signing a 3-year, $30M deal with Colts, source tells ESPN.

I don't know why AP thinks he's going to have more suitors after the draft than he did a month ago...

He most likely feels that the teams who wanted a RB and were not able to get one will turn to him. Who knows, he may be right.

Kind of sad. I just watched a highlight reel of All Day the other day, wow... what an amazing specimen with the ball in his hands. Truly a one-time freak type of player. I still hope he latches onto another team, but at the same time, I hope he doesn't and retires with the legacy he's already set forth. Dude is just a beast. Hate to say it, but maybe the right sentence is "dude was just a beast" =[

Taylor Gabriel - WR - Falcons Falcons re-signed WR Taylor Gabriel to a one-year, $2.81 million contract. Cut by the Browns at the end of training camp last summer, Gabriel resurfaced as a big-play threat in Atlanta with seven touchdowns on only 39 touches. The 26-year-old should again be a key cog in the Falcons high-octane offense. Source: Kelsey Conway on Twitter Apr 22 - 1:49 PM Hopefully Taylor can manage to get lucky and stick with the Falcons again this year .... Good Luck with that Taylor ...

I don't know why he wouldn't stick. He almost stuck with us. It came down between him and Hawk. Hawks history with Hue probably made the difference.

I bet with Shanny gone, he disappears and ends up hurt. They only signed him to a one year deal...wonder why?

I bet with Shanny gone, he disappears and ends up hurt. They only signed him to a one year deal...wonder why? Because they didn't have to sign him to anything more. Get him for cheap one more year and see what you have. He was a restricted free agent with a second round tender, he didn't have many other options.

Malcolm Butler - DB - Patriots
According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, if the Patriots trade Malcolm Butler to the Saints, "this is the week for it to happen."
Reiss believes it will come down to whether the Saints are willing to trade the No. 32 overall pick (which they received from the Patriots in last month's Brandin Cooks trade) or No. 42 and another pick with New England throwing in a late-rounder. Per Reiss, the Patriots "don't have any qualms" in keeping Butler around at his $3.91 million salary. Butler was a second-team All-Pro selection in 2016 and graded out as PFF's No. 5 corner out of 119 qualifiers.

That Malcolm Butler trade is bound to happen. It's been speculated for like 3 monhts

Given the price and our need in the secondary, would throwing #33 for Butler wet any appetites? He's a proven commodity - I guess the gamble is seeing who may fall to #33. I'm just thinking out loud - not overly keen on trading for Butler myself.
