to add on, I wouldn't mind trading down from 65 and adding like a 5th or 6th to get a mid 3rd and mid 4th I bet we trade out of a couple of those picks for picks in 2018 and 2019.

A 3-Tech would be a nice addition if it's assumed Des Bryant is on the outs.
At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

Some 52 guys I like: Malik McDowell, 3TDT Chidobe Awuzie, CB Kevin King, CB Budda Baker, FS
Some 65 guys I like: Sidney Jones, CB Marcus Williams, FS Quincy Wilson, CB Jourdan Lewis, CB Desmond King, FS Chris Godwin, WR Caleb Brantley, 3TDT (only if the police report seen online is legit) Nathan Peterman, QB
There are more, these are just my faves.
Guys I don't want regardless: Dalvin Cook (dynamic, but a fumble waiting to happen, and while never found guilty, he's been charged with multiple crims) Joe Mixon (I saw the video, no thanks)

I'd like to see a CB, WR or the Alabama OT. I think they will move up to get into the top 10 of round 2. I would take a chance on Mixon or Hunt.
After 55 years, I'm walking away from this dumpster fire. Good luck to everyone who continues to hang on. You'll need it.

Ten biggest gems remaining after Day One: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000...ems-after-day-1PHILADELPHIA -- With a full-day walk-up to Day 2 of the NFL draft, teams are afforded the opportunity to completely restack their boards. There are plenty of really good players left after Thursday night. Here are 10 that I have graded the highest, and ones I suspect teams will be aiming for at the top of Round 2: RANK 1 Dalvin Cook - RB Original rank: 25 | School: Florida State | Year: Junior. Became Seminoles' all-time leading rusher in yards (4,464) and touchdowns (46) in just three seasons. Exceptional vision as a runner, a trait Bill Parcells believes is the most important for a running back. Has strength and is tough. Plays fast. Good but not great hands, and some questions linger about his pass-protection skills. Has had some off-field problems in past, but seems like a good kid when you meet him. Has had three shoulder surgeries since high school. RANK 2 Quincy Wilson - CB Original rank: 27 | School: Florida | Year: Junior. Has the size needed to match up with the new breed of NFL receivers. Strong, can re-route receivers. Smart, quick and competitive. Ran incredible 4.02-second short shuttle at the combine. Was targeted by opposing quarterbacks 47 times and had a very respectable burn rate of 34 percent (16 catches), plus nine passes defensed. Had three career INT returns for touchdowns. Father, Chad Wilson, was a corner at the University of Miami. RANK 3 Kevin King - CB Original rank: 28 | School: Washington | Year: Senior. Played safety first two years with the Huskies, moved to corner last two seasons. Was targeted by opposing quarterbacks 51 times in 2016, with 23 burns (45 percent) and did not surrender a touchdown. Had a very good combine. Has exceptional short-area quickness (3.89-second short shuttle, 6.56-second three-cone). Can play both safety and cornerback. Played 92 snaps on special teams. RANK 4 Chidobe Awuzie - CB Original rank: 32 | School: Colorado | Year: Senior. Started seven games as a true freshman in 2013. Did not play well vs. Oklahoma State in bowl game (turf toe injury). Had an exceptional 1.50-second 10-yard dash at the combine. Very good tackler. Smart and tough. Can play corner, nickel and safety. Great character. Comes from a strong family. In 2016 he was targeted 63 times, with 31 burns (49 percent) and two touchdowns allowed. RANK 5 DeShone Kizer - QB Original rank: 33 | School: Notre Dame | Year: Redshirt junior. Had 23 starts after being redshirted in 2014. Didn't start Week 1 last fall vs. Texas, but entered in reserve and nearly brought Notre Dame back to win. Has tremendous upside, maybe more than any quarterback in this draft. Very good arm strength. Has quick release, but his accuracy needs improvement. Did not play as well in 2016 as he did in 2015, but that was due to a lack of talent around him after losing key weapons. Has talent and athletic ability. Needs time with top quarterback coach like Kyle Shanahan at San Francisco. RANK 6 Curtis Samuel - RB Original rank: 35 | School: Ohio State | Year: Junior. Played mostly running back. Will be a Percy Harvin-type of player in the NFL. Very fast. Will catch going across the middle. Despite lack of experience, more advanced than you might think at receiver. Started at H-back in 2016. Look at Michigan tape and you see a future NFL star in the making. RANK 7 JuJu Smith-Schuster - WR Original rank: 36 | School: USC | Year: Junior. Very young; won't turn 21 until November. Started 12 games as a true freshman. Did not have a good quarterback at the start of the 2016 season (only one catch vs. Alabama in opener). Needs work as a route runner. Very strong and has big hands. Wins most 50-50 balls. RANK 8 Marcus Williams - S Original rank: 38 | School: Utah | Year: Junior. Started six games in 2014 as a true freshman. Very athletic; had 43.5-inch vertical, 10-foot-9 broad jump, and 6.85-second three-cone drill at the combine. Very instinctive as a free safety. Very good hands. He was targeted 19 times by opposing quarterbacks in 2016, with five INTs and five burns for a very low burn rate of 26 percent. Participated on 98 special teams snaps. Will start as first-year player in NFL, might even play corner for certain teams. RANK 9 Josh Jones - S Original rank: 39 | School: North Carolina State | Year: Redshirt junior. Entered N.C. State as a running back out of high school. Redshirted in 2013. Played strong safety in 2014 and 2015, moved to free safety last season. Physical player, very aggressive. Had impressive 37.5-inch vertical jump at the combine. Was burned on 24 of 44 targets in 2016 (55 percent), three touchdowns allowed and three interceptions. Had 78 special teams plays. Impact tackler; had double-digit tackles in six games this past fall, 109 for season. RANK 10 Jordan Willis - DE Original rank: 40 | School: Kansas State | Year: Senior. Highly respected player of coach Bill Snyder's. Will compete hard from snap to whistle, and beyond. Against West Virginia last season, he had two sacks and nine pressures in a game he had to come off the field twice with injuries, only to return both times. Had 11.5 sacks for the season and was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. Has great first-move quickness to go along with a 39-inch vertical. Team captain. Player whose stock rose through testing and as teams got to know him.

FS, CB, 3T for me. Screw the QB
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

So, we have pick 52 and 65 then no more picks until 145... so if we're looking at starting quality players we have two cracks left.
There are two guys I would take if they are there at 52 and not listen to phone calls:
Marcus Williams, FS, Houston Budda Baker, FS, Washington (though I'm hesitating slightly on this one)
If those two guys are gone, I would look to move 52 back into the 60s or 70s and pick up a pick in the 90s or 10Xs.
These are the players I would be targeting after that:
CB: Sidney Jones Teeez Tabor Quincy Wilson Cam Sutton Kevin King Fabian Moreau Jourdan Lewis Cord Tankersley
DT: Montravious Adams Vincent Taylor Chris Wormley
FS: Desmond King (also CB) Josh Jones John Johnson Rayshawn Jenkins Rasul Douglas
WR: Carlos Henderson Zay Jones Cooper Kupp Josh Reynolds Shelton Gibson Ryan Switzer
Give me one of the first two free safeties and one of those corners and I'll be happy. Otherwise give me three players from the list (one must be a corner) and I'll be fine with it. Gold is preference.

I'd really like to find a way to pick up Williams / Baker and Jones. Baker compliments Peppers as a safety pairing IMHO.
I think Jones will end up being the best CB in the draft if the achilles is 100%. He's worth a flyer IMHO especially when the surgeon's letter looked positive.
I think the organisation is proving it's sticking to the long term plan. Jones would be part of that rationale, for me.

I think Zay Jones is a guy they really should stay away from. Why?
About 5-7 years ago there was a receiver from Ariz,or Az st. went to Ariz Cards,I think. He had a ton of production, but bad measurables, I thought highly of him, but then he was a non factor, in the NFL
Plus, the Browns have been burned by players from the Senior bowl in the past, they're probably still on the team, and are liabilities in coverage.
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Kamara from Tennessee I liked as well as any back in the draft. His draft evaluation was like Trubs. Not enough to make a good evaluation. Although what you see is TOP LEVEL talent.
You dont have to win every game just the next one!

Now that the first round is past, I think the QB situation is going to be addressed next year. Especially with where Cousins and JG's contracts are, the action on QBs will be next year.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

NFL.com mock for rounds 2 and 3: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000...ne-kizers-slide52 Kevin King - CB School: Washington. Long-limbed cornerback with size and ball skills. Could be a steal here. 65. Cleveland Browns: Tanoh Kpassagnon, DE, Villanova Davis Webb goes a few spots later. As does Sidney Jones. King at 52 would be awesome. I'd like to see if we could trade down from 65 to 79 and 86 with Minny, throwing in one or 2 later picks also. Desmond King is still available in that mock. I think he'll make a great free safety with time. King and King. Would still like Marcus Williams or Baker as the foil to Peppers.

Gold is preference. Yeah so think we will miss having that first pick in round 4...and could see us scaling back to back into that round. I like Marcus Williams at safety as well, from the limited amount I've seen from him he has the ballhawk notion...which seems to pair nicely with Peppers whom is not of that category...And honestly I would watch Washington games as they aired later, and Budda Baker stood out to me so much. However being slight in size I have my concerns with him as well. BUT either would be a welcome addition. I like Carlos Henderson alot...reminds me somewhat of Corey Coleman...Switzer will definitely help on special teams and we could save Peppers from taking some nasty hits on returns

Desmond King I know was highly toured back in Feb. Everyone saying he was a late 1st and or early 2nd round pick...but I know his stock has taken a hit lately (on just mocks alone) bit could be someone to keep an eye on...as I love a safety with corner instincts.

Packers are trying to get teams to trade up for a QB: #Packers considering a QB at No. 33. #Seahawks may have taken Mahomes. Chiefs traded way up to take Mahomes. The Ron Wolf tree loves QBs. https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/858021430230908928If the Packers took a QB, their fans might riot.

If anything I'd like to save the 2018 and work with the 2017. Maybe some trade ups with our five picks tomorrow. We have a lot of picks in 2018, and drafting 10 guys on an already young team doesn't make sense. Edit: I'd like to at least bring in a CB,DT,FS and a QB. RB is no big deal nor is FB. Maybe grab a QB like Webb, Peterman or Kaaya to add to the mix. But most important would be secondary and a defensive tackle. Our offense is young and hopefully will be better next year with the improvement in Oline

King was a CB in Iowa but there are concerns with his speed to cover outside. However, he ran 4.5 at his pro-day and his short-shuttle, 3-cone drills at the combine were great. he is a ball hawk, fluid and I think would transition to free safety really well. He also plays with an edge. Gotta love that. I think he would actually make a great CB against the bigger receivers.

I love Awuzie and Witherspoon from Colorado. If you want Awuzie I would probably play him at FS (where he would be a beast), and Wiherspoon as a true CB......I really like Witherspoon and he is one of my sleepers in this draft......actually like him a lot better than Lewis, Sutton, and some other guys who are ranked higher.

Players I want lol there are a lot of them
2nd Ju Ju Smith, budda Baker or Zac Cunningham 3rd Sydney Jones or Tez Tabor
Cunningham at wil with Kirksy and Collins come back in the 3rd and get Syd or Tez. Hell of a draft.

I think this demonstrates the depth of talent still available. I'm hoping we pick up an extra 2nd or 3rd this year, leverage some of that built up draft capital, as I assume we won't see defensive draft class like this again next year (prepares himself ready for the best ever defensive draft class in 2018 which includes ILB Wolverine and DT The Hulk, plus Chuck Norris at safety).

NFL.com on Desmond King: STRENGTHS Four-year starter and ultimate iron man. Played in more than 94 percent of Iowa's defensive snaps over his four years and took 46 percent of the special teams snaps in 2016. Football instincts are off the charts.
Focused quarterback reader who overlaps into other coverage areas to go make a play on the ball. Pattern reader with anticipation to keep him ahead of the route. Creates unique angles to throws, allowing for top-ball production. Obsessed with getting the ball; nabbed 14 interceptions in college and 29 in high school. Has ball-tracking, hands and high-point talent of a wideout.
Stocky frame with physical play demeanor. Good press strength. Rough on slot receivers who can't make a quick get-away off the line. Viable option as both punt and kick returner. Not overly physical as tackler but tends to finish.
WEAKNESSES Lacks long speed and height associated with bump and run cornerbacks. Struggles to carry receivers down the field. Can be mismatched by legitimate speed merchants. Grinder who lacks mirror-and-match fluidity and foot quickness.
Relies on hands usage and grabbing over footwork to transition and match on intermediate routes. In press, can get behind when facing off against slick releases from slot weapons. Lacks recovery speed to consistently close open throwing windows on NFL level. Penalized 11 times, including five personal fouls, over final two seasons. Needs to show more explosion into tackles and improve wrap-up technique.
SOURCES TELL US "You worry about the physical limitations a little bit because teams will find your weaknesses and exploit them. But he's just so steady and productive and tough. He loves football and I think he'll just find a way." -- Midwest scout for AFC team
NFL COMPARISON Jairus Byrd
BOTTOM LINE Lack of size and speed combined with his ball skills, instincts, and competitiveness all point to a transition to safety. While he can improve as a tackler, he's got the toughness and mentality to take on run-support duties. Can cover in man when asked and has the ball-tracking skills and anticipation that should allow him to thrive in two-deep and single-high situations. A likely second-day (Rounds 2-3) selection and could be targeted as a zone corner or a safety with early starting potential.
I'll have me some of that, thank you. I think he'd make a pro-bowl free safety [/enthusiasm]
