Taking a QB in the second doesn't preclude you from anything next year.

Panthers took Jimmy Clausen in the second round one year, the next year Cam Newton 1/1.
thats because Clausen was horrid...Clausen was a wasted pick for them...I just think we could have addressed a position with this pick...and not just spend a 2nd round pick on a QB whom will ne a stop gap till we spend #1 overall next year on a QB

Just because we took Kizer doesn't mean we can't take a QB next year. If Kizer turns out to be a quality backup then a late 2nd round pick isn't bad. We go through a lot of QB's in a year. Having a good supply isn't a bad idea.
Lets see what Hue can make out of him. Maybe we just got lucky and found our QB. If so we have a lot of picks next year to improve other areas. If not, then we can draft a QB next year and Kizer is a backup.... That works.

Last year there was a lot of buzz about Kizer, this year not so much. Maybe Hue can make something out of him. I would have preferred to build the defense here. I hope we trade into the 2nd/3rd round with the lower picks we have. There is still a lot of talent available and we have plenty of late round scrubs.

Kizer is not the QB I wanted in this draft, and I still hope we are going after a QB next year, unless we get lucky and Kiser/Kessler suddenly ball out.

Kind of saw that one coming. Notre Dame was kind of a mess last season, so maybe we'll get more of the guy they projected to go high the year before. We'll see. Kind of reminds me of Bortles, but at 52 might be worth the 50/50 ticket (slightly better odds than a lottery ticket anyways).

clearly you haven't seen his decision making

The fact tat Hue thinks that he is a " QB Whisper " is going to ruin him as a head coach .. This was another wasted pick ..

Trade bait. After we draft a QB.

Clearly you only watched some of his games. He's flawed, for sure, that's why he's a second rounder. He also has just about every quality one would look for in a QB. And this is coming from a guy who didn't want to take a QB in the first two rounds (if at all).

What # do we pick in the 3rd?

They might have a very scary secondary now.

65 coming up, who does everyone want?

Here's my short list
Jourdan Lewis, CB
Desmond King, FS
Caleb Brantley, 3TDT (only if the police report seen online is legit)
Chris Godwin, WR
Fabian Moreau, FS/CB (assuming we're ok with the pec injury)

I had Juju on the list, but dang Steelers.

Though if New Orleans wants to offer that 2nd rounder to move down to their spot in the 3rd, I'd definitely consider it. The 2nd round of the 2018 NFL Draft sponsored by the Cleveland Browns, lol
