If the Browns want to achieve a playoff berth in 2007,1st and foremost they have to go 4-2 or better in the divsion. I don't think 3-3 is good enough. With that stated, the Browns are going to have to sweep at least 1 AFC North team.. Between the Steelers,Bengals or Ravens what team do you feel the Browns can sweep and make a run at the playoffs... Whats intresting is that the last 3 years, the North has had 3 different teams to takd the North..... is it the Browns time?

IMO, were not going to sweep any teams in the North. Were not going to make the playoffs. Hopefully we go 6-10, maybe and I stress maybe 7-9. We still need a few more peices and another year of experience. Your bengals better look out in 08.

For a Bengals fan, you sure pose alot of questions about the Browns with the tone that your a Browns fan.
We don't have to agree with each other, to respect each others opinion.

I think we will sweep the ravens, the steelers, and the bengals. I'll stand by that prediction until proven correct!!!

I'd say the Ravens...the Browns seem to give them a run for their money.

None.
After last season, I'd be happy going 3-3.

Jules, its a legit question.....by the way,I'd propose the same question(which I have) to my many Browns friends I eat and drink with whether at a neighborhood bar or cookout..... but according to you, since I posted it on here..it makes me a "troll"...... give me a break, lady.

It's not a "troll" question.
I would like to know how many teams made the playoffs without sweeping at least one of their division rivals in the past 10-20 years. I bet it's really low.

Pittsburgh. They are going to struggle this year between going to a spread offense.... This just in, Big Ben is not Peyton Manning.... and switching to a Cover 2. Pittsburgh doesn't have the Cover 2 personell right now. They are going to really struggle this year. IMO.

Honestly, probably the Steelers. They're in a transition year.
Raven are possible but not probable.
Bengals scare the hell out of me though, we don't match up well with them at all. We will soon with the emergence of Wright and Quinn though...

Impact, You say it's a legit question so I'll try to give a legit answer . We Could sweep any of them, will we, I doubt it, I doubt we sweep any of them but I am going to give reasons. First, your team. The Bengals: They can score with anyone, but they still haven't proven that they can stop anyone. Add to that thier off the field issues and maybe...just maybe...they will be missing something this yr. Stienbach and Henry could also be key losses. How big of a role did Stienbach play in thier O-line balance? I know Henry didn't play alot last yr., but when he did he played big in those games, who is going to replace him? Next the Ravens: Thier season seems to ride on the big shoulders of McNair. Last yr. was the first time in awhile I remember him staying healthy all yr. Thier O-line is aging and one young OG is not going to change that right away. McGahee is a different style of runner than Lewis. Thier D-fence lost what may be a KEY player in Thomas, Can they do all thier stunts and blitzes without him, and most have been saying for the last couple of yrs. that Ray-Ray is on his last legs, they are bound to be right one of these yrs. Finally the Steelers: A new coach and a new system. How soon will they adjust and how big a role will the loss of Porter and the Faneca hold-out be? And I think this yr they will miss Bettis more than last as teams now know how to play Parker. All big questions that need answered. Look, do I think that all of the above is going to play a factor this yr, yes I do, just problalby not big enough of one to bring any of these guys down to our level. But my piont is that all of the teams in the AFC north have a few improtant questions that need to be answered. And while I NEVER wish injuries on anyone, they do happen (us Browns fans know that all too well ), and any one key injury to any one of these teams could spell big trouble. Will we sweep any of them, I doubt it, but if you make me pick one, I'll pick the Ravens. Thier D is getting old, I don't think McGahee is the answer, and I don't think McNair can stay healthy two yrs. in a row. Just my humble, not thought out, ramblings while I wait for this Friday to finish . I know I'm reaching...........but it's the offseason........I'm bored........and hope springs eternal.

I would be ecstatic if the Browns go 3-3 in the AFC North this year... and I think it is very possible to go 3-3 in the AFCN and still make the playoffs, not that I think the Browns are going to make the playoffs, but the division is tough... go .500 in the division and 1 game above .500 outside the division gets you to 9-7, which COULD get you in the playoffs.

The Steelers already run a modified Cover 2, just out of a base 3-4...they will eventually shift to a Tampa 2....Cover 2 is coverage, not a defense. Tampa 2 is the defense (based out of a 4-3). But then again a modified Tampa 2 is in essence a Cover 3....sit on that for a bit and ponder ;-)

better question is which AFC NORTH teams will sweep the browns this year.... Anyways...i would love for us to sweep the steelers....they are a bit of a unknown at this point with a new coach but same ol team....god knows how they will do this year...i can't say they will suck but this year if we r even decent we have a shot to sweep the steelers if they aren't on!

I don't think it is going to be a lock. They have owned us but I feel times may be changing. They have changed coaching staffs and I don't think they have improved that much if at all. No way do I think we can sweep them but pulling out a win at home doesn't seem impossible, or even improbable to me.

Of course they "want" to. Everybody "wants" to. But do they expect to? I doubt it.

1st and foremost in your opinion. You state it as though it is a fact. The Browns have to go 4-2 - OR BETTER - in our division. Anyone getting the BS in that statement?
Quote:

What a prognosticator! You don't think. So now it's set in stone.
Quote:

Only if one wants to play your game of believing in you enough to go along with everything you've said above.
...we've seen the bait...it's all set up...now here comes the TROLL QUESTION...the moment you'e all been waiting for....is everyone ready?...here goes...
Quote:
Between the Steelers,Bengals or Ravens what team do you feel the Browns can sweep and make a run at the playoffs...
And there it is. The Browns go 4-12 in '06, that's 0-6 in the division and 1-11 in the division overall with this regime, and you want to see how many Browns fans you can get to lay claim that they can sweep an AFC North team so you can scamper back to your own board and tell all your BengalsBuddies that you actually got some Browns fans to answer that question.
To what incredible, miracle heights do the Browns have to improve to go 4-2 - OR BETTER - in THIS division?
Anyone who even answers this question is unaware that you are a Bengals fan who, more often than not, poses what appears to be legitimate questions on the surface but has the ultimate ulterior motive just underneath it to be a troll thread to get the fans talking about something rediculous.
Quote:
Whats intresting is that the last 3 years, the North has had 3 different teams to take the North.....
Yes, very interesting indeed. Just interesting enough for you to add a little "sugar" to the bait...that was another setup. Here comes the "punch line"...
Quote:
...is it the Browns time?
Perfect!
Mission accomplished. You actually got a lot of serious replies. That was what you were hoping for; serious replies which, to you, translates into "gullible replies".
I've seen your M.O. for a few years now. You may never even see this post because most of the time you don't even come back to your stupid thread. You merely come up with some nonsense and leave those who don't know you well enough to debate on your foolishness.
If being a troll were rewarded with anything other than your own satisfaction you'd get the crown.

I would have to go with the Ravens, we match up pretty poorly with the Bengals and always find ways to lose to the Steelers while we always play Baltimore close.

Well, I don't know if this is a troll thread or not? I don't care, I'll answer the question honestly, in my own opinion.
I feel the Browns can sweep one AFC North team, not sure which one? Too me, seems the Ravens and Steelers are more likely as we have not matched up well against the Bengals.
I will predict that we sweep the Ravens, split with the Steelers, and get swept by the Bengals; Again!
Now that would put us at 3-3 in the Division and I'd be happy with that!

Well, the Ravens are at Cleveland first but I really think beating the Ravens at home first would be a bigger blow the them than losing at Cleveland first, hell, losing at Cleveland first gives them some motivation to win in Baltimore later.

I am not one to "rely" on NFL predictions but I will tell you this, if the Ravens, who are picked by some to repeat as "Divisional champs" (notice I said Divisional) and the Browns or any other AFC North sweeps them, It's over for the "run to the SB" as far as I would be concerned.....
