I find it funny how many celebrities are against the wall and say it sends a bad message but yet they have walls protecting their house. So I guess if you are an elite progressive liberal you can have walls to protect your house hire body guards that carry guns to protect them in public. But, they support legislation to prevent the common folks in this country from owning guns for our protection and a wall at the border to keep illegals out of our country.

progressive liberals need to wake up and see they are pawns to the elites.

Another thing I always found funny was the celebrities who swore that if Trump were elected President, they would move to Canada.

How does that make any sense? They wanted to protest building a wall with Mexico, by moving to Canada. Wouldn't it follow logically to move to Mexico, to show solidarity with the Mexican people? It's a moot point though because they were all bluffing anyway.

What makes the United States and Canada such desirable places to live, but not Mexico? I suppose that's getting a little bit off-topic.

Building a wall at the mexican border is not going to stop illegal immigration unless the American taxpayers are prepared to foot the bill to build a "Great Wall" around the USA that is 12k miles long.

That would stop illegal immigrants from walking across our borders...but I doubt that American taxpayers would agree to foot the bill to build a wall that works.

Common Sense would dictate that if you crossed over the little bridge to my side of the creek and the government said it was illegal for you to do so,
You would be escorted over that little bridge and back to your side.

Once everyone left the area, Common Sense would dictate that you would cross that little bridge to my side again.

Build a wall and you will find it harder to cross.

The wall doesn't have to be the entire border. There are places nobody is going to try to cross. There has to be a town somewhere in the bounds of reason for these people to land.

Large segments can be monitored by helicopter and mounted patrols.

I ain't stupid ... I know the entire southern border can't be walled ,,, but I also know .. in 4 or 8 years when some POC lib is elected ... anythng short of a wall will be DEFUNDED or just IGNORED .. they'll take away the budget for the gas for the helicopter and there will all of a sudden be a hay shortage so the horses can't eat ... or it will be deemed inhumane by the snowflake crew ... a wall will be a lot harder to take down than signing a bunch of executive orders leaving our southern border about as protected as one of our QB's last year ...

look at the oBUMa years ... the border patrol had the worst job satisfaction rating for 3 or 4 years running .. oBUMa and the folks that care more about illegals than they do americans basically rendered them useless ...

So calm down. I agree. Work on the logical places and let alone the Mohave and Sonaran deserts for now. If they can deal walking through scrub cactus, mountains, and oppressively intense heat, not to mention snakes and other not so friendly things for 3 days to find a town, and dodge helicopters and mounted patrols, maybe they deserve to be allowed in....at least we know they are fit and determined workers.

We could build a series of camps every 20 miles or so. The border patrol goes out there 10 days on, 10 days off. Four person grouping head out....4 head west, 4 head east, 10 miles out, 10 back. A horse can cover that. Obviously you would need to carve out a dirt road system to be able to supply the outposts with food, water, and grain for the horses. A few watering holes for the horses along the patrol line.

The horses get 5 on, 5 off, so you have a covered stable of 15-20 horses at each outpost. It's the wild west my friend. Much still gets done on horseback. My wife is from Idaho....she's my Idaho...lol....you see people on horses everywhere.

My Non-Illegal world? I live in Portland, Oregon. I'm pretty sure I know some illegals, and I can guarantee I've worked next to several. I don't know many Americans that work 1/2 as hard as they do.

The wall is nothing more than a feel good policy. It does nothing to address root causes as to why they come over here.

JC: First, I hate the use of the way that some people use the word Illegal. I think sometimes we forget that these are people who only want to live a better life. There's some bad apples with the bunch, but there's plenty of bad apples with our bunch too.

Also, there's a difference between Illegal and Undocumented. And I know people who are both. And they are good people, who just want to better their lives. For example, I know a non-muslim Algerian Girl who ICE is tracking because she overstayed her Visa. If you understood what it's like to be a female, in Algeria, wanting to live a modern life as a non-muslim in a muslim nation, you really wouldn't be able to blame her for coming here and trying to make a life for herself. She's college educated in France with a degree in architecture, speaks solid English, and there's nothing for her in Algeria.

I know multiple undocumented from Mexico who've been here for close to ten years. They have families (with wives and children who are citizens), they own businesses that pay taxes, and they'd do anything to be American Citizens.

No one likes being searched for by ICE and having to fear leaving your house or opening your front door to someone knocking.

I think we sometimes forget that. These ARE humans, and they should be treated as such when discussed.
