You and yours have been doing most of the killings for as long as I can remember.
Tell us again of the 50 million American babies you slaughtered in the name of finances over the years.
Why don't you Liberals ever want to talk about the blood on your hands and how you justify it?

I borrowed that little diversion from Swish, proclaiming something that really has nothing to do with the subject at hand. Like past abortion clinic shootings and such.

Yea, now the shooting is Trumps fault.

Still can't address me directly?
Not my fault if you feel hurt over me pointing out your hypocrisy.
My message is simple: either have the same standard across the board regardless of political leanings, or don't have one at all.
If you can't, then just admit it. That way everyone knows how mentally weak you are.

It's bad enough when mobs of dems target Republicans..Now they are actually hunting them down to kill them. So you're with the prejudice group here... No surprise. You know there are bad apples in every demographic. Blaming all democrats for these actions is the same as blaming all blacks in America for the LA riots. It's called prejudice. It's what's wrong with America IMO. Good day Oh....so now I am prejudice...LOl...that's classic. Go from guns laws to prejudice. Got to pull that out when nothing else works. I never blamed all. I said a fairly significant portion of the voter base. The more you keep blabbering on, I am starting to think you are a part of that percentage.

Yet we finally get a lunatic liberal, and you conservatives come out the woodwork. Devil and Excel where nowhere to be found in these threads, yet now all of a sudden, y'all won't shut up. I couldn't pay you two to stop posting. Why are you singling me out?? I've made all of but three posts in this thread, and none of which was ragging on "liberals". I hardly post on any of these threads, but it's still unfortunate when a guy goes off their rocker and shoots up a a bunch of people. I have a brother-in-law that lost a number of family members in one of these "postal" incidents. For whatever reason, people don't want to just commit suicide anymore. They want to take as many people with them in the process. Why is that? I have no idea really. Because they attack anything that doesn't sound like their echo.

Because the targets were motivated by politics? You know how many political attacks happen in this country? You're only proving my point. Diam didn't say a word when the right wing guy shot up an abortion clinic, or when that right wing loser shot the Hindu guys. If you're gonna be outraged about one incident, be outraged at all. If not, don't expect anyone to take you seriously. It's a real easy concept.

I am not proving your point. You use that line a lot.
The difference here is this wasn't just a attack on a political issue, such as abortion, it was a attack on the other political party by a person who disagrees with their thinking.
Big difference there my friend.

I've said this many times over.
When one of society's inalienable rights is to own a deadly weapon, death by gunfire is an acceptable and predictable outcome of daily life. To those who ask the question: "how many deaths are acceptable?" I say...
ALL OF THEM. ...Or society would do something about it. And we don't.
Freedom (whether universal or individual) isn't free. Dead bodies are part of the cost we pay for having an unassailable 2nd amendment.
I used to be a gun control advocate, some 30-odd years ago. That all ended when I came to the realization that America was willing to overlook the "well-regulated militia" part of the 2A in favor of virtually unregulated individual gun ownership. So I stopped caring at all what folks do with their firearms. My life has been much less conflicted as a result.
High school kids dead? Meh. Elementary school kids dead? [Shrug]. Public officials wounded/changed for life? Whatever. President Reagan shot on the streets? Big deal. Secret Service should have been more on the case, and Jodi Foster shouldn't have been so sexily waifish back then. None of it was the gun's fault, after all. Right?
Like I've said many, many times before on this website: I may lean left, but I'm not anti-gun in any way. The difference is this: I refuse to offer up hollow-ass meaningless "thoughts and prayers" for any of the victims OR their families, because all of this is the cost of doing business in the USA. Every day, someone gotta pay.
We will NEVER do what Australia did, so we should accept our communal complicity in these stories and quit being 'bleeding heart hypocrites.'
Thoughts and prayers my ass.
Thought has nothing to do with this, or crap would be different by now. God gave us free will, the Ten Commandments and his only begotten Son to teach us. After that, He left us to choose... so He ain't involving Himself in this mess, either... and I don't blame Him. So save your freakkin' prayers, too... because God ain't bringing the slain back, and those mourners left behind will have to find their own ways through the grief and tragedies.
We love our guns more than we love the safety of our fellow citizens, so we should all just
1. harden our hearts, 2. accept that 300M guns for 300M people is going to result in a daily death toll... and 3. just get (tf) over it.
I mean... it's the only reasonable, rational, adult way to look at it... since we can't even agree on common-ground dialogue about guns and what they mean/do.
And to my friend DevilDawg, who called me 'cynical' the last time I expressed these sentiments, I say:
Your 'cynical' is my 'sensible.' Nothing will be done about this- ever... so it's in my best interests to reconcile these truths with my personal reality. I'm no pollyanna about this, and I fully embrace the idea that I could live another 20-30 years... or die tomorrow because somebody decided to put wet holes in my living flesh.
IMHO, every single American citizen should accept a daily death toll as part of the price we pay for having a 2nd amendment.
I do. And I don't even own a gun.
I understand the prevailing almost sarcastic sentiment. I liked this post, then felt challenged, then liked it again. 1. I can't blame Jodi Foster for being "sexuly waifish" 2. Here's the real point. What democrat liberals don't understand, or don't want to understand is us , some of us, on this side are so sure the Guns are necessary because. (Did you see the other news story, did you see this 22 year old comatose victim of totalarianism who got shipped back to Cincinnati from North Korea? Me, (if not others) I'm quite certain that if left unchecked the democrat, socialist, left would instill a just as awful society of anti-freedom, by anti-dissent, by anti-unpopular speech, by forced adherence, by forced (if you want to call it worship, then worship) of a stupid leader of some sort... and when those become real, so do autrocities.... (((( within a few generations at most))) (( and they are constantly trying, and the only side making progress, in my lifetime, toward that continual takeover of any part of An Americans daily life, from speech, to travel, to purchases, to holding a job, to controlled thought, But the left.. thinking like they do.. like your post insinuates... has it's points... that you made.. and either turns a blind eye to, or doesn't want to, or just didn't think of , or doesn't think it would come to, what I stated. 3. I like this next part of your post- I also fully embrace I could live another 20 years or die tomorrow because somebody decided to go crazy. And as long as they aren't the organized government stamping out freedoms of thought, then I'll feel I'm still fighting on the right side. .

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/06/...law-passes.htmlSeattle gun tax failure? Firearm sales plummet, violence spikes after law passes When the City of Seattle passed a tax on all sales of guns and ammunition, the measure was hailed as a way to defray the rising costs of gun violence. When the City of Seattle passed a tax on all sales of guns and ammunition, the measure was hailed as a way to defray the rising costs of gun violence. But since the tax took effect, those costs have only risen as gun violence in the city has surged. And the tax has apparently brought in much less than city leaders projected it would. “How much data do you need?” asked Dave Workman, senior editor of TheGunMag.com and member of the Second Amendment Foundation. “The data says the law has failed to prevent what they promised it would prevent.” Seattle City Councilman Tim Burgess introduced the tax in 2015. It puts a $25 tax on every firearm sold in the city and up to 5 cents per round of ammunition. The measure easily passed and took effect January 1, 2016. Comparing the first five months of 2017 with the same period before the gun tax went into effect, reports of shots fired are up 13 percent, the number of people injured in shootings climbed 37 percent and gun deaths doubled, according to crime statistics from the Seattle Police Department. Councilman Burgess never returned calls and emails for comment. Dana Robinson Slote, director of communication for Seattle City Council, said she was “politely declining your invitation for an interview.” In selling his gun tax to the public, Burgess predicted it would generate between $300,000 and $500,000 annually. The money would be used to study the root causes of gun violence in hopes of reducing the costs to taxpayers. Seattle officials refuse to say how much the tax brought in the first year, only giving the number “under $200,000.” Gun rights groups have sued to get the exact amount. But Mike Coombs, owner of Outdoor Emporium, the last large gun dealer left in Seattle, said the actual tax revenue is almost certainly just over $100,000, a figure based on information he says the city shared with his lawyers. Coombs said storewide, sales are down 20 percent while gun sales have plummeted 60 percent. “I’ve had to lay off employees because of this,” Coombs said. “It’s hurting us, it’s hurting our employees.” Employees at the Big 5 sporting goods stores in Seattle also report anemic gun sales. But there’s evidence Seattleites are just going outside the city to buy their guns. Coombs also owns a gun shop in the nearby city of Fife. Sales there are described as robust. Another gun dealer simply left Seattle and moved his shop, Precise Shooter, to nearby Lynnwood. Sergey Solyanik said business has never been better. He said the gun tax has probably worked out to be a net negative for Seattle when factoring lost sales tax revenue. The money that has been raised by the gun tax is sitting in a holding account during the legal battle. But Seattle has dipped into its general fund to support the gun violence research study at Harborview Medical Center. Seattle paid a total of $550,000 for the study aimed at connecting gunshot victims with social services in hopes of not seeing them in the emergency room again. “There’s a great deal of recidivism,” said Dr. Fred Rivara, a professor at the University of Washington’s pediatrics department who is directing the research. “These individuals are much more likely to come back with other gunshot wounds, to commit subsequent crimes, violent crime, to be murdered.” When the City of Seattle passed a tax on all sales of guns and ammunition, the measure was hailed as a way to defray the rising costs of gun violence. Seattle police say the increase in shootings seems to be tied to the drug trade – and revenge. Allison Anderman with the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence, which supports gun taxes, said calling the gun tax and gun violence study failures is way too premature. “The causes of gun violence are very complex,” Anderman said. “To say this one study is lacking because it hasn’t solved the problem of gun violence in Seattle is, frankly, laughable.” Dave Workman doesn’t criticize the study, but he does think the city council should have predicted the results of the gun tax, such as gun dealers leaving with no drop in gun ownership. As for the gun violence, he says that too should not surprise anyone. “All these gun control laws affect the wrong people,” Workman said. “The gang bangers don’t go in and buy ammunition at retail, at least not around here. It certainly hasn’t stopped them from getting their hands on firearms.”

I really, really don't think this thread should be about gun control. There are bigger issues at work here.
Once again, the guy could have found a number of ways to attempt to kill his victims w/out a gun. The issue is hate. The issue is intolerance for a contrary opinion. The issue is lack of respect for human life. The issue is a lack of compassion for those who other human beings. The issue is a lack of self control. The issue may be about mental illness.
We ignore the real issues and try to put everything in a neat, tidy little package and then wonder why we can't solve our problems.
And as long as you all want to blame the "other side" and the stances that those political sides stand for, we will continue to digress as a society.

Well you guys are the ones talking about how polarizing this country has become.
Everybody is talking about that... and now that it has hit home with congress, they are talking about it too.. which can only be a good thing. So I don't see why somebody who fans the fire like trump is off limits in that discussion.
Trumps rhetoric definitely deserves to be a part of the conversation. He didn't start it, but he has definitely been a big part of it over the last year. Especially since you yourself has been on record blaming Obama's rhetoric for why shooting of police officers went up.
How come obama can be blamed for that, but trump can't be blamed for this? Obama and most other politicians are much more nuanced in the way they talk about issues than Trump is.. but a lot of it is still wrong... there are many layers to the onion of how we got to this point and the blame is spread over a wide range of people... but it starts at the top and that's with the President, congress, governors, the media, the celebrities with the biggest stage, and then downward from there.... but, like with many things in politics, it might only change from the bottom up, when the people say they have had enough. And as long as we do the "well they did it first" or the "the media was different the last time" then it will likely not change.

Penn & Teller have a great explanation on the 2A that you're missing. The people have a right to keep and bear arms IN CASE the well regulated militia that takes its orders from the government all of a sudden becomes tyrannical. It doesn't say you can bear arms so long as you're part of the militia. It's intent was to protect you FROM the militia. hope I wasn't redundant there

I'm very saddened, yet not surprised, that this thread has turned into a political quagmire. Blame vs. blame. I've never been so depressed about the state of our society (politicall) than I am now. That has to do with both Democrats and Republicans. The feeling of depression and hopelessness is overwhelming, especially in light of the fact that when countries historically get to this level...it never ends well.

it shouldn't be about who did it first.
it should be about stopping anybody from potentially doing this. whatever isle a person sits on, we're all somewhat responsible when crap like this happens.

I believe that anyone wishing to point the finger at one side or the other for the political climate in our nation today is being naive. I will say I've never seen someone running for president ever offer to pay the legal fees of someone assaulting protestors before.
However, it's simply a progression of what's been going on now for decades.

If and until the amount of involvement Russia had in the last election is known..and until it known if Americans colluded with Russia in an attempt to affect the outcome of the 2016 election...it would be the first time in my lifetime have I have seen such conduct.
We could be talking "treasonous conduct" by Americans...not something I've seen before...just sayn...mac

Is it now, I hate this man so much that he is guilty and I will fight through hell and high water to prove he is guilty even if it takes me a year or longer? It seems to me like it's the latter interpretation that some people are going on. How about a novel idea: let's wait until the investigation is complete and then evaluate the evidence at that time.

However, it's simply a progression of what's been going on now for decades. Pit...that may not be the case in this situation...
If and until the amount of involvement Russia had in the last election is known..and until it known if Americans colluded with Russia in an attempt to affect the outcome of the 2016 election...it would be the first time in my lifetime have I have seen such conduct.
We could be talking "treasonous conduct" by Americans...not something I've seen before...just sayn...mac Of all the threads you could have dumped this in, this is the one you decide to do it in. smh What happened to innocent until proven guilty in this country? Is it now, I hate this man so much that he is guilty and I will fight through hell and high water to prove he is guilty even if it takes me a year or longer? It seems to me like it's the latter interpretation that some people are going on. How about a novel idea: let's wait until the investigation is complete and then evaluate the evidence at that time. Haus..."sorry" if I upset you by responding to Pit's comment..."However, it's simply a progression of what's been going on now for decades."
JMHO, "this" is not like anything I have ever seen ..the possibility of a candidate working with and possibly being supported by the government of our enemy, Russia.
The investigation must continue to determine the truth and any obstruction of the investigation is an admission of guilt, imo.

I agree with you on the overall idea that this is not a progression of what's been going on for decades, but disagree on the specifics. You still have no evidence of what you are suggesting because the investigation has not been completed. Things have gotten nasty though, no doubt. You can even see it in some of these threads. Sometimes I think that disagreements go beyond politics and become deeply personal (though to be clear, not from my end.)

mac, I do think that's quite a reach and at this stage of the game nothing more than a wild accusation at best.
I have tried to point out that there are legitimate reasons why I feel these investigations were started. I've pointed out that if people wish to call it a witch hunt, it must be the GOP having a witch hunt because three of these investigations are being ran by bodies that are controlled by the GOP. The Senate, the Congress and Mueller who was appointed by one of Trumps appointees.
Now where and how these investigations end and what conclusion they come to is anyone's guess at this point.
It has been Bizzaro World with a surgeon in charge of housing and a woman who was known to hate public education in charge of education. We have Pruitt claiming 50,000 coal jobs were added which is a complete lie.
It's almost as if it's becoming expected that our president and his cronies will lie to us daily and that it's the new normal. That our president will go on some Tweet storm and sound like some Junior High School girl throwing a tantrum.
It's a joke and embarrassing. And we sit and watch people promote it like that's an acceptable way for the White House to act.
Just because they appear dim witted doesn't mean they're criminals.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

this is so much bs. i don't post much since the last crash. it doesn't matter if your left or right you under no reason attack you elected officals. you can disagree with them but never attack them.
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

Left Wing groups are all about violence. They protest, they mob, they riot. Citizens of this country need to wake up to the reality of who they actually are. This week was just a small glimpse.
Occupy Wall Street Black Lives Matter Antifa
Heck, unions all over this country started as a violent group.
Liberal/Progressives are in nature a hate group. They hate everything that made America great and with the medias backing have become accepted terrorists.
