That isn't even a good try, lol. It's a sad case, but nowhere does it say that the Millers wanted to pull the plug on their child due to finances. They sued because the doctors performed treatments that may have been responsible for the child's condition. You made it sound like it was commonplace for parents to be pulling the plug in 2009 due to funding issues.

What? No I didn't. I offered a hypothetical origin to a story (Charlie) that happens 16 times a year. In no way do I think that either case are normal examples. Evident that they've gone to an extremely high court.
CHS's post is Lib speak for, "I made the whole thing up."
40 the Fraud back at it again. What did I make up? Did you even read it? Did Jfan even read it? What I linked was the court's decision, not what the parents said in court or why they sued. I would think the parts:
Quote:
The Millers' claims stemmed from their allegations that despite their instructions to the contrary, the Hospital not only resuscitated Sidney but performed experimental procedures and administered experimental drugs, without which, in all reasonable medical probability, Sidney would not have survived.   The Millers also alleged that the Hospital's acts and/or omissions were performed with HCA's full knowledge and consent.   Although the Millers did not sue Dr. Otero, they alleged that he and other Hospital personnel were the Hospital's apparent or ostensible agents.
The Millers alleged that the Hospital, HCA, Inc., and Hospital Corporation of America were alter egos of or business conduits created and maintained for impermissible purposes by HCA-Hospital Corporation of America.   The Millers further alleged that the Hospital, HCA, Inc., and Hospital Corporation of America integrated their resources to achieve a common business enterprise.   Thus, the Millers asserted that the HCA defendants were jointly and severally liable.   The trial court granted HCA's motion for a separate trial from the Hospital and then, at the Millers' request, tried the Millers' claims against HCA first.
They're literally arguing that HCA-Hospital Corporation resuscitated and experimented on their daughter as a way to get money and that is why they are liable for the damages that the parents were awarded.
Do you really think this money grows on trees or what?
You guys who support single payer healthcare must have missed the plight of little Charlie Gard – the brain-damaged British baby whose parents recently lost a legal battle to keep him on life support.
You know the V.A is a single payor system....as a veteran, I will not step foot in a V.A hospital. Careful for what you wish for!
Funny, me and my wife use the Chillicothe VA, no issues whatsoever. If they can't get you in you are free to go elsewhere, they schedule it for you. I don't know where you guys are getting all these bad experiences.

So why did Trump sign new legislation making it easier to fire corrupt VA administrators? If you don't believe the VA has serious problems then YOU have blinders on.

I believe they are talking about Medicare for all. My question has been, How much with the Premiums be for a 22 year old, or a 50 year old or a 64 year old person.
I know what I pay, but it would NEVER work with that kind of premium. Way to low.
Maybe the answer is the younger you are, the smaller the premiums until you hit like 65 then they go to whatever Seniors pay at that moment.
I'd guess that insurance companies like the Aetna's or BCBS or Med Mutual would become Supplemental providers at that point. not sure if the math works out.
I also suspect that there would have to be some sort of public participation. Again, not sure how the math would work.. I don't think anyone actually knows. I can't fi8nd a study on it.

The thing you can't admit is Obama created this mess that Trump is trying to fix.
Let the man work.
More excuses for the liar. He said he wouldn't do this. He said he wouldn't cut medicaid. He's a liar plain and simple.
Chill. He is doing what he can to fix the mess he was handed. Stop with your constant hate and let the man work. It is what the good people of this land elected him to do.

No one is saying they don't. We all know VA and Medicaid have serious problems. However, private insurance companies have an extreme amount of problems and you cannot get the government to intervene as easily as they can the VA.
Grover Norquist blasts reports the White House is considering raising the top rate.
A conservative anti-tax advocate is panning a reported plan from White House adviser Steve Bannon to raise the tax rates on the wealthiest Americans.
“It’s a particularly cruel thing for Bannon to do,” said Grover Norquist, president of the conservative group Americans for Tax Reform, on CNN on Monday.
Norquist claimed tax cuts would lead to more jobs and that increases would hurt growth.
“It might make somebody feel good to know that somebody else is paying higher taxes,” he said. “That’s a cruel thing to do when you’re hurting somebody.”
Twitter users called him out over his use of the word “cruel,” but Norquist stuck to his guns.
Grover Norquist ✔@GroverNorquist @LesleyM06284277 @BrookeBCNN It is cruel to destroy jobs that people need. Tax hikes slow growth, kill jobs. I was clear on TV 3:40 PM - 3 Jul 2017
“End the cruelty,” he wrote in another post.
While conservatives such as Norquist tend to believe that tax cuts on the wealthy and corporations create jobs, the real-world data is far less certain.
NPR reported in 2015 that in the right circumstances, certain types of tax cuts combined with cuts in unproductive spending could stimulate the economy.
However, it’s far from a sure thing. The network also noted that a 2012 report from the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service found no link between top tax rates and economic growth over the previous 65 years.
Norquist’s concern may be moot: The Weekly Standard reports that Bannon’s reported plan to increase taxes is not going anywhere.
“We’re beyond that,” a senior official was quoted as saying.
This idea that Repubs businesses use tax cuts to create jobs is a LIE !
With tax cuts under Bush jr, a local company manager bragged that the mother company used their excess revenue gained from tax cuts to close a manufacturing plant in the USA and move those jobs to China.
Saying tax cuts are for creating jobs is absolutely meaningless as there is nothing to insure that the jobs created would be in the USA.
I've lived long enough to hear those GOP promises before...trickle down economics at it's best!
We are a country divided with values that are just unreal being exhibited by the GOP and their shrinking support base.
That's a laughable statement.
Which Party controls the White House, Congress, Senate, and the majority of Governorships, State Houses, and State Senates?
If either Party has a shrinking base, it's the Party that has lost and lost and lost at every level, over the past 4 years. The Democrat Party has lost the working man vote .... they have lost they have lost more and more of their union support.
The Democrat Party is now a Party of identity politics. They have no real agenda. Their agenda right now is "fight Trump", and "impeach Trump", and Trump keeps winding them up, the they keep jumping through the hoops.
Until and unless they get back to standing for something, they will continue to lose. Right now they are a fractured, mainly coastal party.
Trump sent in an FBI ballistics unit to Chicago to work with the police. I wonder how the cities will vote if he actually does help stem the tide of violence in the lives of inner city citizens. That could really be the death knell for the Dems, if they aren't careful.

The only hope the Dems have is if the Repubs dont fix healthcare.
Because it is a uniting cause that affects everyone. And Im pretty sure its getting to the point people will vote for whoever has the best plan to fix it.
Im pretty sure I will vote for whoever will fix it. Even a Dem.

I couldn't tell if you were talking about Democrats or Republicans here tbh
If you think that one party is less fractured than the other, well I have some big news to tell you.
Also, when you lose the popular vote by two million, you can't say your support base is growing. Well, I guess you can if you've been losing the popular vote by 5 million.

And that would be something, if the popular vote mattered. It doesn't, though. Think how many Republicans stayed home in the majority of states because they knew their states were "safe red".
Let's look at states:
Governors: 33 Rep 16 Dem 1 Ind. That's not even close.
State Legislatures: 32 Rep 13 Dem 5 Divided Again, not even close.
We know that the Republicans control the White House, (despite their division) and both houses of Congress.
The Republicans are not in lockstep, like the Democrats were, but the Republicans control almost everything right now. (outside of the coasts, and some poor, large cities) The Republicans are even taking over in the rust belt, that was Democrat territory.
The Democrats are falling apart. They have no national leaders. They have no agenda that resonates with most of the country. They are in serious jeopardy of complete disintegration. If they don't get their act together, they run the risk of chasing away every part of their voters, except those who really care about abortion, and identity politics.
Oh, and there is word that Justice Kennedy might retire in a year. That could mean another strong conservative justice in the mold of Gorsuch. Ginsberg is 84, and one has to wonder how much longer she'll stay on the court. The court could take a strong move to the right for the next generation as well.

Yes, when talking about a voter base, it's important to count the popular vote. That's literally what a voter base is.
Trump won 3,084 counties in the United States out of 3,141. Hillary won just 57 counties. Trump won 30 states and Hillary won 21.
She won New York and California big and that gave her the popular vote. But, this country was never set up to have the big cities and large states dictate to the rest of the country.
"The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other peoples' money." Margarat Thatcher
Shhhh. I don't want the Democrats to figure out that you win the Presidency with States in this Country, not popular vote. Shhhhh.
If the Indians scored 27 runs in the World Series while the Cubs scored 20 runs but won 4 games, well just don't tip off the Democrats to this. Math and Common Sense are their weakness.
Considering Trump won Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania by a total of less than 80,000 votes, lying about cutting medicaid and repealing and replacing healthcare at the same time? I wouldn't be so cocky right now. He lied to a lot of people that were counting on what he said. Hundreds of thousands of them in just those three states.

Yeah if the Democrat nominee had any brain cells, she would have won. Can't even believe she didn't try to campaign in the rust belt. But that's HRC, always trying to get checkmate in one move.
I hope some of you conservatives who are on Medicaid didn't vote for your own demise.
But I wouldn't be surprised.

I love the euphemism, "single payer".. who exactly is this entity?
The only singular entity who can, the United States Government. Privatized insurance is called "multi payer" because multiple entities "pay" for insurance.
Yes, I get that.. what I find funny about it is that WE PAY IT.. they are just fighting over who we funnel our money through.. Our choices are an inefficient, often incompetent, sometimes corrupt federal government... or a greedy, profit driven insurance industry.... Hooray for choices!!!!
