I believe they are talking about Medicare for all. My question has been, How much with the Premiums be for a 22 year old, or a 50 year old or a 64 year old person.

I know what I pay, but it would NEVER work with that kind of premium. Way to low.

Maybe the answer is the younger you are, the smaller the premiums until you hit like 65 then they go to whatever Seniors pay at that moment.

I'd guess that insurance companies like the Aetna's or BCBS or Med Mutual would become Supplemental providers at that point. not sure if the math works out.

I also suspect that there would have to be some sort of public participation. Again, not sure how the math would work.. I don't think anyone actually knows. I can't fi8nd a study on it.

Grover Norquist blasts reports the White House is considering raising the top rate.


A conservative anti-tax advocate is panning a reported plan from White House adviser Steve Bannon to raise the tax rates on the wealthiest Americans.

“It’s a particularly cruel thing for Bannon to do,” said Grover Norquist, president of the conservative group Americans for Tax Reform, on CNN on Monday.

Norquist claimed tax cuts would lead to more jobs and that increases would hurt growth.

“It might make somebody feel good to know that somebody else is paying higher taxes,” he said. “That’s a cruel thing to do when you’re hurting somebody.”

Twitter users called him out over his use of the word “cruel,” but Norquist stuck to his guns.

This idea that Repubs businesses use tax cuts to create jobs is a LIE !

With tax cuts under Bush jr, a local company manager bragged that the mother company used their excess revenue gained from tax cuts to close a manufacturing plant in the USA and move those jobs to China.

Saying tax cuts are for creating jobs is absolutely meaningless as there is nothing to insure that the jobs created would be in the USA.

I've lived long enough to hear those GOP promises before...trickle down economics at it's best!

If either Party has a shrinking base, it's the Party that has lost and lost and lost at every level, over the past 4 years. The Democrat Party has lost the working man vote .... they have lost they have lost more and more of their union support.

The Democrat Party is now a Party of identity politics. They have no real agenda. Their agenda right now is "fight Trump", and "impeach Trump", and Trump keeps winding them up, the they keep jumping through the hoops.

Until and unless they get back to standing for something, they will continue to lose. Right now they are a fractured, mainly coastal party.

Trump sent in an FBI ballistics unit to Chicago to work with the police. I wonder how the cities will vote if he actually does help stem the tide of violence in the lives of inner city citizens. That could really be the death knell for the Dems, if they aren't careful.

The only hope the Dems have is if the Repubs dont fix healthcare.

Also, when you lose the popular vote by two million, you can't say your support base is growing. Well, I guess you can if you've been losing the popular vote by 5 million.

Again, not even close.

We know that the Republicans control the White House, (despite their division) and both houses of Congress.

The Republicans are not in lockstep, like the Democrats were, but the Republicans control almost everything right now. (outside of the coasts, and some poor, large cities) The Republicans are even taking over in the rust belt, that was Democrat territory.

The Democrats are falling apart. They have no national leaders. They have no agenda that resonates with most of the country. They are in serious jeopardy of complete disintegration. If they don't get their act together, they run the risk of chasing away every part of their voters, except those who really care about abortion, and identity politics.

Oh, and there is word that Justice Kennedy might retire in a year. That could mean another strong conservative justice in the mold of Gorsuch. Ginsberg is 84, and one has to wonder how much longer she'll stay on the court. The court could take a strong move to the right for the next generation as well.

Yes, when talking about a voter base, it's important to count the popular vote. That's literally what a voter base is.

Trump won 3,084 counties in the United States out of 3,141. Hillary won just 57 counties. Trump won 30 states and Hillary won 21.

She won New York and California big and that gave her the popular vote. But, this country was never set up to have the big cities and large states dictate to the rest of the country.

Shhhh. I don't want the Democrats to figure out that you win the Presidency with States in this Country, not popular vote. Shhhhh.

Considering Trump won Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania by a total of less than 80,000 votes, lying about cutting medicaid and repealing and replacing healthcare at the same time?
