i've long since noticed how sleazy media is, especially conservative media.

the put in a title like "is obama violating the law?" because they know they don't have any hard evidence, but they need to plant the seed in these chain email thinking people, because they will believe anything being told to them.

if foxnews posted "are liberals secret satanist?", it would be guaranteed that either 40 or fish would post it on the board.

But at what cost? That is what has to be weighed. There would be a heavy toll to pay, and I think it would take more than a day.

Nobody really wants to wipe NK off the map. I've said it before also but the people of NK are not at fault here.

Diplomacy doesn't work with that little punk. We've tried for what, 50 years. Sanctions don't work. We've assassinated dictators in the past only to have the same problem with a new leader. Shooting down the missiles (like I think) is an act of war like 40 pointed out. God forbid we miss on a few making us look incompetent.

It's hard dealing with this but you can only let a little guy poke the bigger guy before he backhands him as a warning.

Hope for a civil war? The people are so cut off from everything outside their country they don't know any better.

Mad Dog Mattis assured reporters that America is still leading the efforts against NK with Diplomacy and economics and with the UN. We are no closer to Military action at this time than we were.

Why would u believe him? .. he shouldn't be saying anything ... much less telling us the truth ... thats just STUPID!!!!

I think we are trying to hold out an olive branch to NK right now. The SK President has now announced he would like to sit down with the NK's to open talks.

I believe we want to prove we tried everything to end this peacefully for the day after the bombs have dropped and millions have died.

I hope this guy runs for president, just for the campaign slogan: "Mad Dog 20/20".

To bad he would lose to Trump in the Primaries.

My thing is when we hit them there must be no time and no way they can retaliate. If we slap them and they throw everything they got at Seoul, Seoul is toast.

I do worry for Seoul, would be great to find out that they've spent the last 60 some years digging tunnels beneath that city that everyone could escape to and after we've gotten rid of Jong Un and North Korea and South Korea is just Korea they can rebuild.

The other side of that is perhaps NK had miners dig tunnels under Seoul all these years and now have those tunnels loaded with Nukes.

Outside of providing potable water to those that don't have, I think information going into North Korea is the greatest humanitarian effort taking place right now.

Then the masses in NK can be as misinformed as our masses.

That would be the GOP senate, the GOP congress, the FBI and a GOP appointed special prosecutor, not the media.

I am now thinking the next step in trying to get China more involved with NK will be talk of allowing Japan and South Korea to arm themselves with Nukes to match the threat they face.

This will place a bunch of Nukes on China's doorstep.
They may see this as worse than cracking down on NK.

There are currently NO good options.

NK has proven over the years they don't care about sanctions. Those do nothing to prevent or thwart the goal of nuclear weapons.

China has proven to be a no go in stopping NK.

Un doesn't care. He's disregarded each and every UN sanction against his country, and he's suffered nothing.

War? Conventional? Somewhere around 1 million would die in the first days. NK would not win, but they would make it hell for a couple of days, week or so.

Nuke them? The u.s. is on the hook then - for all kinds of stuff.

Sit idly by while a nut case gets a nuke that can reach the u.s., or japan, etc? Then what? Wait for him to use it?

There are no good answers here.

So I have a question.

What gives us the moral authority to build our nuclear arsenal, but not allow other countries to do the same?

Also, does NK want to nuke someone, or do they want the RESPECT that comes with being a nuclear capable country?

A lot of you guys are either not aware of that perspective, or not giving it enough consideration.

I say that because negotiations can go different directions depending on the perspective and angles we are attacking it with.

What if we are looking at the wrong things. That's all I'm saying. We are assuming NK wants to attack or bomb someone. I think that's dangerous.

But if you rely on food donations to fee your citizens, if you disregard all u.n. sanctions in order to build your nukes, and you threaten to destroy a certain country.......do the math.

If they want respect, they should give it. The country as a whole is a 3rd world country. The military is approaching great power. Do you want them to have that power?

The country of n.k. has suffered no consequences for their blatant ignoring of u.n. sanctions. The citizens of n.k. have suffered though.

When does it stop? I don't have the answer, but neither do you.

As I've stated before, we've dealt with a country who didn't give two craps about sanctions and such: Iran.

And so far, so good. We got a whole bunch of countries that came together, including Russia, to make the Iranian nuclear deal happen.

Why should a country who doesn't GET any respect in the first place all of a sudden give respect to these nations?

It's a 3rd world country as you just stated. Guess what countries only gets respect from the west? Countries that have, or are trying to develop nuclear capabilities.

You need to look at it from their perspective for a change. That doesn't mean NK is right, cause I don't like what they're doing one bit, but if you can't look at their perspective for understanding, then you already failed in negotiations.

And that's the trap I see the trump administration doing. The only guy making any sense on the matter is Mattis. Everyone else, including unfortunately our president, sounds like they are trying to start a cage match.

There's countries that have stated they want to kill America. Honestly I'd be impressed if some hell hole country DIDNT say it. That doesn't change the fact that we have to go about this as diplomatic as possible.

There will always be war.

Man will always try to build more powerful effective weapons to overpower others. To get stuff they want the easy way.

Thanks to our founding fathers and the millions of Americans who have served in the armed forces, the United States currently has the best, fairest and most influential government in the world.

Our government is run by the people. And I think the vast majority of Americans have a desire for doing what’s right.

North Korea is run by Kim Jong-un.

I have faith in our government. I certainly have no faith in the screwball Kim Jong-un who brutally tortures and murders anyone who gets in his way.

So far they can only hit left coast sanctuary cities so their is no reason to rush into anything.
