Thanks Peen but I have booked the Holiday Inn Express - Downtown its 629 Euclid Avenue and very close to CBS. It has an 'internet guarantee' the cheapest I will find or they refund the difference. I would have been able to save some money by staying further out of the area, but I am not planning on hiring a car - so Downtown is worth the extra few $$'s as it will give me alot more to do during the week! I hear West 6th Street is the place to go for nightlife

English -
You got it, full access to the gym (all the obvious cardio and strength equipment, pool & hot tub, dry sauna, outdoor basketball and tennis court, racquetball court, etc). It's no more than a 3-4 minute walk from your hotel.

Read that big post of mine in this...depends what you're into. You certainly have enough time to try out both the Warehouse District (W. 6th) and the Gateway District (virtually where your hotel is located).
Warehouse is a little more upscale, trendy; while Gateway is more sports bar, casual.
I'll treat you to a Panini sandwich, which can be found at either location

Cool. I knew you needed downtown. I wanted to be sure you knew there were to Holiday Inn type properties in the same general area......didn't want the cabbie dropping you off at the wrong one and you standing at the desk in a strange city with panic starting to set in

He wouldn't panic. He's English, not French.

You travelling alone English? Yet another Brit is gonna make the DTI wall. You'll have a blast mate.....what an experience to reflect and think about on the flight home, y'know...those 2 wins Sadly, i'm a few years off my next visit.....haven't scouted out flight costs from Melbourne yet.....figured i'd save on accomadation fees next time around by setting up camp on Atomic's couch. Or heading down to C.Bus and kipping on Saint's floor like.

No matter where you are from, when you walk into overseas hotel ready to settle in for an extended stay and they tell you they don't have a reservation, a degree of panic sets in.

Tell you what man, you might wanna make up a story about the reason for your visit....i was grilled in Amsterdam and Detroit by Americano officials who weren't really buying the story of a football game as a reason for my visit. James Hetfield of Metallica had a similar experience last week....but according to reports he was wearing a "Talibanesque" beard.

Yes the Hall of Fame would be great - I know we discussed plans before my trip was 'set in stone' Maybe we can arrange some plans at the first game. I take it you will be at DTI? we can arrange a trip for the following week that suits everyone? Counting down the days ........
