-10 months into my relationship with my gal, and everything is going swimmingly! Have there been disagreements or points of contention? Yeah, but not quite anything major. It helps that we see things similar, and we've got a bit of Atticus Finch in both of us. She grounds my idealism if need be, and she's encouraged that I can push her to do better. People warned me about "cohabitation" and nothing weird has happened.
-Fifth year of teaching out here goes well. Kids keep asking us if we're going to get married. She moved to my location this year. They accept us with open arms, and the whole "living together unmarried" thing isn't an issue. The students respect boundaries in regards to us, and no awful sexual comments pop up.
-My grandfather turns 93 later this week.
Life is good.

Congrats. Glad you’ve found happiness. Don’t let society dictate your relationship. I’ve been cohabitating with my girlfriend for 6 years. Have owned a home with her for 5. No plans of getting married. We’ve both been there done that. We agree we love each other too much to institutionalize each other again. We wake up daily and choose each other. No contract needed.
