You have your opinion but tie the hands of the President.

What I find impractical is limiting the President and his Secretary of State when it comes to future negotiations with our greatest enemy.

What a bunch of BS.

This administration isn't slowing or showing they are limited what so ever when it comes having meetings and negotiations with Russia.

Ok let's go.

I'll represent America (shout out president Obama).

Ok, Russia. If you want the sanctions lifted, as well as the property seized in our country, you must publicly admit to meddling in our elections, completely pull out of Crimea, and end your support of Asad's regime. In return, we will lift the sanctions and allow you to continue to operate in the Middle East with your naval base in Tartus.

*Takes shirt off. Gets on horse*

I don't understand you wanting Russia to pull out of Crimea. There was extreme upheaval in Ukraine and the Crimean region is full of ethnic Russians. We annexed Crimea, after a vote mind you, in order to both protect the Russian military base and assets we have in the region, as well as to protect the ethnic Russians who populate the area. Our annexation and continued presence in the region is certainly more justified than the U.S.' presence in Syria, and certainly more justified than the U.S. invasion of Iraq. This is chaos in a neighboring country mind you, which requires our immediate attention and action.

We categorically deny meddling in your elections. As I said before, Russian hackers are too good to be caught, and the U.S. has not released any clear and convincing evidence which demonstrates state-sponsored hacking by the Russian government.

*Off the record conversation: would you really want us to admit to meddling in your election? We entertain leverage here where it delegitimizes your current administration to admit that we swayed the election*

Assad has been a long-time ally of Russia. For us to go back on our support of him would be akin to the U.S. relinquishing its support of a NATO member. Additionally, Syria and Russia have established good trade, and the military base in Tartus is vitally important to us ensuring maritime security and the protection of Russian interests in the Mediterranean.

Also, there is nothing about "allowing" us to continue to operate our military base in Tartus. That has been there for decades, and it was never up to the U.S. whether or not we would be allowed to operate it.

*Off the record conversation: we will entertain pulling support of the Assad regime, if you allow us to control the governmental transition and lift sanctions*

*Goes back and figures out another way to get around the deal and meddle further*

That's the problem. They aren't trying to "fix" it. If they were it would have passed by now.

Good job guys as we move closer to war with Russia. thumbsup

Russia hits back over sanctions, orders US diplomats to leave

-Russia said it is seizing a dacha compound and warehouse used by U.S. diplomats in retaliation for new U.S. sanctions against Moscow.
-The Russian Foreign Ministry also warned the United States it would respond in kind if Washington decided to expel any Russian diplomats.

Russia told the United States on Friday that some of its diplomats had to leave the country in just over a month and said it was seizing some U.S. diplomatic property as retaliation for what it said were proposed illegal U.S. sanctions.

Russia's response, announced by the Foreign Ministry, came a day after the U.S. Senate voted to slap new sanctions on Russia, putting President Donald Trump in a tough position by forcing him to take a hard line on Moscow or veto the legislation and anger his own Republican Party.

President Vladimir Putin had warned on Thursday that Russia had so far exercised restraint, but would have to retaliate against what he described as boorish and unreasonable U.S. behaviour.

Relations between the two countries, already at a post-Cold War low, have deteriorated even further after U.S. intelligence agencies accused Russia of trying to meddle in last year's U.S. presidential election, something Moscow flatly denies.

So what. Putin's playing tit for tat now.

Kindof ironic that all you war monger's start crying about some kind of pretend war with Russia is now looming, but want to bomb the crap out of N. Korea starting WW3. Whatever nothing surprises me about you Trump-a-tears anymore.

The vote in the House of Reps in support of sanctions, 419-3.

In the Senate, the vote in support of Russian sanctions, 98-2.

If Trump wants to show how much of a Russian supporter (lover) he is, veto the bill.

You need to convince the Congress and the Senate. They know what happened in the election and know Russia must pay a price. Nobody is going to start a nuclear war over it. But you keep on saying stupid things. We've grown used to it.

It's sad you didn't even understand that if Trump veto's this bill, the congress and senate will overturn that veto. They have far more votes than it takes to do it. He's a president, not a dictator. It seems both you and he need to figure that part out.

Trump says he will sign the Russian Sanctions bill when it hits his desk.

So...

1- He has either seen the evidence and agrees Russia needs to be punished.
or
2- He has found a way he can still negotiate and it won't interfere.

at this point he has to sign it. if he doesn't, all that does is confirm whose team he plays for. and it isn't America at that point.

he has to sign it to attempt to relieve some pressure, but daddy Putin already sounds ticked off about the sanction bill.
