I've read the transcript.. it's not a very good speech and it is littered with political references even though he says at the beginning that he's not going to talk about politics.. there is some pretty good stuff in it as well.

That said, using his election victory, which nobody predicted, as a story about success, isn't too big of a stretch..

Nope. I think it's the only speech he knows how to give. However, I think those making "Trump Youth" and Nazi references to it are even dumber than anything that was actually in the speech.

It's funny to watch people get all riled up about his speeches when they are, for the most part, all the same. If he spoke to the NRA or the Boulder, Colorado rotary club, it would be basically the same speech... Yet every time he gives it, people act surprised.

BUT it seems to me that many people on this board think going to college makes you smarter than those with only a High School Education.

the answer is know, that doesn't make one smarter than someone who only has a high school education.

if we're talking a specific topic, then maybe. for example, someone who went to school for engineering will probably know way more than somebody who didn't.

the problem though is too many people go to college and think that it somehow makes them all knowing with regards to EVERYTHING.

people get an art history degree and thinks that makes them an expert in diplomacy and world affairs. it's annoying, and i've been in classes with kids like that. at time it gets infuriating.

for example, there was a student in class trying to tell the professor what deploying was like for soldiers. kid never been in, never been anywhere. i just sat there with my mouth shut screaming in my head.

the flip side to that is when you have people who haven't gone to college try to devalue it simply because they hear "liberal college", and dismiss it altogether. that's also a problem.

Bro you never have to to be asked to give me your opinion. I always welcome it. We are as different as night and day sometimes yet we both respect each other, and learn from each other every day.

This is one subject we agree on 100 percent. Being a college grad does not make you smarter about life, and being a High School Grad is no reason to put down those who have way more knowledge about certain subjects than the rest of us.

We need better training programs after high school. Training programs that give people the pathway to an upward path in their field.
