That's interesting speculation, but I don't think it would give them that much intel. The missile technology that NK uses is still pretty rudimentary. It would be more so of an evaluation if we actually used it to shoot down something more along the lines of what China or Russia have on the cutting edge.

You know, that's a possible chip I never considered in this whole scheme. What about the possibility of us utilizing our relationship with Japan to mirror China's relationship with NK?

Basically, revising our agreement with Japan, and allowing them to once again grow their military, and justifying it by citing regional destabilization resulting in grave security threats.

I sure bet China would pay attention, at least. When they protest, we could just cite the fact they can't reign in their dog, so we're going to stop reigning in ours.

It's a dangerous end game, but I'm just pondering all possibilities for discussion.

I think he should have left it at something more cryptic...held his cards close, because it's far better to avoid looking foolish.

By taking his approach, he's either going to look like a blow-hard who can't be taken seriously, or he's going to have to act with "fire and fury."

It's as stupid as when Obama used the "red line" phrase regarding Syria.

Like then, now we're in a situation where the other person has called. Were we bluffing or do we have a good hand to play?

I think we should respond to the little fat kid with some things he would understand. Maybe a few wedgies, some nipple twisters, a few swirlies, and a noogie or two.

I don't know Peen. Trump says there's no more room for talk. Mattis says there is. It's hard to make heads or tails about what the truth is.

Unlike the previous administration, we don't let our enemies know what we are doing or what we may do or how we are thinking.

All they know for sure is all cards are on the table and we have the power to deal fire and fury at any time.

So far Trumps harsh talk has put them off of Nuking America or Nuking Guam. That is good in my book. thumbsup

In case you missed it, they didn't do that when Obama was president either.

Trump hasn't done anything but draw a red line in the sand that N. Korea keeps crossing. Just like Obama did in Syria.

Ha! Your right, all they did under Obama was expand their Nuclear capabilities to be the threat that Trump must deal with today!

Yup... blame Obama for everything North Korea has accomplished in military strides since 1954. Typical notallthere

In fairness, trumps comments were about nk attacking or threatening to attack the u.s., guam, japan, or s. korea.

Well, O did blame Bush for the economy for 8 years, so there's a precedent.

In truth, though, it's absolutely fair to lay blame on O, Bush, Clinton, Bush, and keep on going.

What exactly were any of the presidents supposed to do? Start another war, which will cost millions of lives?

At the end of the day, NK is a sovereign state. Other than trying to make deals and try to solve it diplomatically, every presidents' hands around the WORLD were tied.

It's stupid to blame anybody. I blame trump simply for wanting to get in a trash talk competition with fatty, but overall, what's gonna happen next? Trump is gonna get blamed for not denuclearizing NK? It's unwarranted.

We can't forcefully make NK stop developing nukes any more than we can tell Pakistan to get rid of theirs?

So the only three options is cut a deal, ignore it, or go to war.

All the options suck, but there's no reason for any president, including trump, to pick war right now.

Well, the Bush administration did pass the 2005 Bankruptcy Prevention Act, preventing people from defaulting on their debts so easily. This was a great protection for businesses, but had two huge negative results for consumers. First, it forced homeowners to take equity out of their homes to pay back their debts. As a result, mortgage defaults rose 14 percent, forcing 200,000 families out of their homes per year after the bill was passed which kick started the housing collapse which was the major factor in the great recession that the Obama administration inherited.

NK has been pulling this crap for 50+ years

We disagree here. Even if I did agree Kim threatened Guam.

Quote:
He does something in Guam, it will be an event the likes of which nobody’s seen before, what will happen in North Korea,” he said. “It’s not a dare. It’s a statement.” Kim, Trump said, was “not going to go around threatening Guam and he’s not going to threaten the United States and he’s not going to threaten Japan and he’s not going to threaten South Korea.”

While that's fine and well, I was speaking about this quote.
Quote:
“Frankly, the people that were questioning that statement — was it too tough? — maybe it wasn’t tough enough,” Trump told reporters Thursday at his golf club in Bedminster, N.J. “They’ve been doing this to our country for a long time, for many years, and it’s about time that somebody stuck up for the people of this country and for the people of other countries.”

He was speaking of threats, not attacks here.

And that's my point. This isn't a partisan issue. It's been ongoing through administrations of both parties.

Seems trump doesnt need to make any kind of deal with NK. He just needs to get China in his pocket. So THEY apply the pressure, and THEY dont react if God forbid we get dragged into a war. China would be much more reasonable to deal with then NK. And theyve already condemmed NK's actions.

Because if push comes to shove, NK isnt the problem. (We can eliminate them in a hot minute) Its China. And possibly Russia. We just need them to stay out of it..

NK is still very much a problem given all the artillery they have lined up against a city of 10 million people.

North Korea conducts another nuclear test, neighbors say

By Anna Fifield September 3

TOKYO — North Korea has conducted another nuclear test, officials from Japan and South Korea said Sunday after seismic authorities detected an artificial earthquake near the Pyongyang regime’s known nuclear test site.
This would be North Korea’s sixth nuclear test, and the first since President Trump was inaugurated. The action probably will increase already high tensions between the Trump administration and Kim Jong Un’s regime.
The U.S Geological Survey said it had recorded a 6.3 magnitude earthquake exactly at noon Sunday local time, near North Korea’s nuclear test site in Punggye-ri, in the county’s northeast region. The quake was felt in northern China, with emergency sirens blaring in Yanji, near the North Korean border, according to local media.

South Korean authorities said Sunday’s earthquake appeared to be artificial, consistent with a nuclear test. Japan’s Foreign Ministry said it has concluded that North Korea did conduct a nuclear test.
North Korea’s recent nuclear tests have happened exactly on the hour, often on meaningful dates for North Korea or the United States. It is a holiday weekend in the United States, which marks Labor Day on Monday.

A North Korean nuclear test in September of last year registered as a 5.3-magnitude earthquake at 9 a.m. on a national holiday marking the 68th anniversary of the formation of the communist regime by Kim Il Sung, the current leader’s grandfather.

After Sunday’s quake, South Korean President Moon Jae-in called an emergency meeting of his national security council, and the chairman of his Joint Chiefs of Staff put the South Korean military on alert.
In Japan, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said he “would not tolerate” another nuclear test.

Analysts had been expecting another nuclear test after North Korea said earlier on Sunday that it had developed a more advanced nuclear bomb with “great destructive power.” But they weren’t expecting it so soon after the announcement.
On Sunday, the state-run Korean Central News Agency released photos of Kim Jong Un inspecting what his government described as a hydrogen bomb that could be attached to a missile capable of reaching the mainland United States.

All the components of the “H-bomb” were “homemade” so North Korea could produce “powerful nuclear weapons as many as it wants,” the state-run Korean Central News Agency quoted Kim as saying.
North Korea’s latest claim on a hydrogen bomb could not be verified. Although it claimed that a nuclear test in January last year was of a hydrogen bomb, experts said the seismic waves generated were consistent with an ordinary nuclear device, not a thermonuclear one.

A sixth nuclear test by the North Koreans would be highly inflammatory for the United States and China, as well as North Korea’s other neighbors.
China has expressed annoyance at North Korea’s frequent ballistic missile launches, but analysts have said China probably would not take serious action — unless there is another nuclear test.

Sunday’s events could also change the equation for Washington. Trump has been warning the Kim regime not to test him, warning on Twitter that the American military was “locked and loaded.”
In April, the U.S. Air Force deployed to Japan a WC-135C Constant Phoenix, a four-engine jet designed to detect nuclear tests by collecting air samples. The plane, based on the Japanese island of Okinawa, probably will be used to determine what the North Koreans tested underground.
The aircraft carries about 30 personnel and is one of the arms of the U.S. Atomic Energy Detection System. The jet was used in 2011 to track radioactive activity around the Fukushima nuclear power plant after the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan that year.

Did you know that North Korean troops murdered two US Army officers with axes in the DMZ in 1976?

Yep.

Captain Arthur Bonifas and First Lieutenant Mark Barrett were hacked to death by North Korean troops with axes.

The only reason we didn’t nuke North Korea then was because we had a wimp named Geraldine Ford as president.

He gave North Korea a stern “Don’t do that again.”

He was very stern.

Last night something popped up on my phone like "Tremors detected in North Korea, likely related to Nuclear Tests. More to follow..." or something similar to that.

My first thought was "holy hell, NK just blew itself up on accident."

Obviously that didn't happen, but it'd be pretty ridiculous if it did.

NK says they have the Hydrogen Bomb perfected to fit on their long range ICBM's.

We can all be assured now, accuracy or not, with the Hydrogen Bomb they won't miss.

If I was President Trump, this is how I would handle the NK problem...

First I would look at my position as President of the United States of America. I will be crucified in the Press no matter what I do with NK. We have the Nations greatest flood and the Media attacks my wife's shoes and hammers me for not hugging enough people.

Second I would look at our Government and see where, the Democrats, are not on board with anything I propose or do.
I also have the Establishment Republicans trying to undo my Presidency.

I can not trust the FBI, CIA, or NSA to give me correct information, to back me up, or to not leak secrets to the Media or NK for that matter in an effort to undo my Presidency. They have been doing these things since I was sworn in.

The American People, as split and vindictive as many of them are, may not support any decision I make with the NK situation. This is an unknown.

So...

I would do nothing but threaten and bluster.
I would not attack NK unless first attacked by them.
If they launch a Hydrogen Bomb Warhead on an ICBM, I would attempt to shoot it down.
If he does hit us, it will be on one of the Western Liberal Cities which have defied the Nation by declaring their resistance to the Federal Government and becoming Sanctuary Cities.
They allow foreigners to vote in their elections,
they welcome illegals and protect them from the Federal Government.
I will risk their lives in case of a NK Nuclear attack but I will do nothing to begin a war myself.
I will not put myself in the position of attacking and killing 10's of Millions of people just to be eaten alive here at home for it.

We wait.
We watch.
We sacrifice.

Time for whack-a-troll!

I actually totally get 40's point of view here. It's based in fear and hate, simple as that. This is what Trump does. He brainwashes pathetic minds into believing every word out of his lying mouth and turns them into evil little minions that troll our society on every level. I personally like 40's honesty in this post as it sheds light into the mind of a devout Trumpian.

So what can a rational person do or say in response to this type of post? There is not much you can do, if you respond negatively with counter facts it's FAKE NEWS. If you go after Trump or his supporters in any way, you are a snowflake libtard socialist scumbag. If you offer up rational ideas or solutions that are not Trumpian by nature, you are mocked and ridiculed because they think they are the majority.

So how do we save the poor little minions from themselves and their leader? We don't. Thankfully when Trump goes down the bubbles of delusional politics will burst like grapes being crushed at a winery. At first we will have the sweet juices of a long fought victory, but after some time to ferment what's left of the minions will just turn into old rotgut whine and will be totally intolerable by rational people everywhere. There is no saving these poor lost souls.

So...
We wait.
We watch.
We sacrifice.
