By the way.

quote above by Y:

Quote:
I have heard/read nothing about him being a "disciplinary problem".

I should have been more concise.

I was thinking "self-disciplinary" problems.

For instance, some fat guys might really, really want to loose weight. They don't want to be fat.

But can't do it.

Even when a set of directions is given to them to follow.

And I would say playing in the major leagues requires more self-discipline than maintaining your ideal weight.

My guess is that they went with Allen because he is an elite level defensive outfielder. He is also very good on the base paths. From what I read, I have never actually seen him play.

Francona has very patiently been developing this catcher for the Indians.

Francisco Mejia

Mejia had a 50-game hitting streak last year.

Francona called him up yesterday to spend the rest of the season with the Tribe.

A little more seasoning for next year.

The Indians have won 8 in a row ..... without Salazar, Andrew Miller, Tomlin, Kip, Brantley, Almonte, and Chisenhall. (though Almonte and Lonnie did return for 1 AB each in the 9th today)

Gary Sanchez in August:

12 home runs, 26 RBI, .287 AVG (I am speaking your language), and several sucker punches.

Yawn. rofl tongue

Man, sweeping 2 double headers in 3 days isn't to bad at all. wink

The Indians are up 4-0.

Kluber is pitching.

The Indians have won 61 consecutive times when they've had a 4-run lead and Kluber pitching.

That's a lot.

If they can win tomorrow it would complete 3 straight sweeps.

"The month. What's the month?"

Check this out from ESPN Fantasy Baseball:

Quote:
News: Salazar (elbow) has been confirmed as Tuesday's starter against the White Sox, Paul Hoynes of Cleveland.com reports. (Sat Sep 2)Spin:

This was the anticipated return date for the electric righty, and now we have confirmation.

On Saturday, Salazar threw a 23-pitch simulated game at Double-A Akron. Manager Terry Francona said Salazar won't "go too long" in his first start off the DL, so it remains to be seen if he will go deep enough to qualify for a win. He should stick in the rotation for the rest of the season if he can remain healthy, which has proven difficult this season.

Can you imagine if Salazar finishes the season healthy?

And what about Tomlin!

If he was worthless, he wouldn't be starting today.

Just for some perspective, we are 8 games ahead of the Twins, If the season ended today, the Twins would be the 2nd wild card team.

Twins in the play-offs would be the biggest "Cinderella story" in a very long time. (they lost 103 games last year)

It seems like the Tribe is setting records every week.

Today:

Jose Ramirez ties 5 extra base hits in a game record.

Indians sweep a 4 game series in Detroit for the first time ever.

EVER.

That’s way over 100 years.

That’s hard to believe.

Indians have won 11 straight.

They've outscored the opposition 79-18 during the streak.

First 4-game sweep in DET since at least 1901.

Actually great game.

Congrats to Mejia on his first Major League hit and RBI. What a line-drive hitter. Nearly broke Shields’ knee cap.

And Roberto Perez.

220 lbs - .224 ave

Congrats Roberto!

on a side note, man, the Sox have had an awful year ... smart of them to just tank it out and start over

Trevor Bauer is now 15-8, tied with Chris Sale for most wins in the AL. He's good.
