I wouldn't want him just out of fear that I would be the next person on his death list.

49ers just cut Navaro Bowman. I haven't been following them much, but he was one of the best LBers in the league not all that long ago.
I know he got hurt, but I am wondering if this is a performance issue or salary cap thing........or both. I want details if anyone is familiar w/the situation. cfrs???

The San Francisco 49ers have released LB NaVorro Bowman this afternoon after failing to find a suitable trade partner. San Francisco was able to replace Bowman with first-round pick Reuben Foster. Even though Bowman is not the player he once was because of injuries, he will draw interest on the open market. Teams did not want to trade for him because of his contract, but that's now much less of a factor with him on the open market. So, which teams are the most likely to sign him? Here are six possibilities: https://www.chatsports.com/nfl/a/6-teams-could-sign-former-49ers-lb-navorro-bowman-35771

Thank you. I thought it was kind of shocking, but I haven't watched the 49ers much this year.

I don't think our FO would want a guy like that.
I used to love the guy as a LBer, but he got hurt. I don't know if he is the same player he used to be. I am kind of uneducated about his current level of play............but, our FO isn't interested in older guys and it doesn't matter if they can play or not.
He'll probably go to a contender.

They are going with Reuben Foster (who I am glad we didn't draft only because his name is stupid). As we know, replacing veterans with young players is how a team tanks without actually tanking.

Not only that, but the 49ers are now running a 4-3 defense. Bowman had played in a 3-4 defense for all if not most of his career. Injuries have taken a toll. The 49ers did Bowman a favor by releasing him. It's sounds like the parting was mutual. He'll catch on with the right opportunity.

Navorro Bowman - LB - Free Agent
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports free agent ILB Navorro Bowman is expected to sign with a new team "no later than Monday."
It is not a surprise considering the 49ers said several teams were interested in a trade before they decided to release the linebacker on Friday. The Raiders and Patriots are two contenders who could use some help at linebacker.

Report: Browns expressed interest in LB NaVorro Bowman Cleveland showed interest in an NFL veteran. https://cle.247sports.com/Bolt/Cleveland-Browns-expressed-interest-in-49ers-NaVorro-Bowman-108970122The Cleveland Browns approached the San Francisco 49ers about a trade for linebacker NaVorro Bowman before he was released according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The New Orleans Saints reportedly agreed to a trade that would have sent a seventh round choice to the 49ers in exchange for Bowman. However, the 49ers did right by the veteran and released him outright so he could sign wherever he chose. The Carolina Panthers and Baltimore Ravens had also reached out about a potential trade. As a free agent, Bowman is expected to visit with the Oakland Raiders in the coming days. There is a "strong mutual interest" between the two parties according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The 29 year old was a third round pick out of Penn State in 2010. He has recorded 709 tackles, seven forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries and four interceptions over the course of his career.

I'd look for the Giants or Broncos to look at him now.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I'd look for the Giants or Broncos to look at him now. With Rodgers down in GB, I'm thinking Detroit might think it's time to take their shot. He'd be a nice complement to Tate and Jones and would help maximize Stafford's arm talent.

With his history os suspensions and the fact his biggest selling point is potential as opposed to production ...
There going to struggle to trade him for anything of real value ...

LOL......I thought this was a joke at first. Who the hell is Bryant to be asking for a trade. He has had a couple of suspensions and hasn't had a big year ever. It's all about "potential." That means.......he ain't done it yet. The Steelers also have Antonio Brown. Gee, wonder why he gets more targets. That rookie from USC is playing well. He is more dependable than Bryant. If I were the Steelers, I would tell Bryant to shut the hell up do his speaking on the field.

Possible landing spots for Sterling Moore A year after a career season with the New Orleans Saints, Sterling Moore has been released by the team. It’s back to the drawing board for the veteran corner, who has been bounced around to multiple practice squads and played on four teams. The Saints utilized Moore effectively last season when their secondary was ravaged with injuries. Moore, a former undrafted player out of SMU, was up for the challenge in an impossible defensive situation. In a down year for the Saints, he showed some backbone by leading the team in pass deflections, tying for most interceptions and having the fifth-most tackles. His performance was enough to earn him a contract extension in the offseason. Little did the Saints know that their secondary would actually be one of the team’s strengths this season. Moore was left in the dust by a talented group of young corners, spearheaded by rookie first-round draft pick Marshon Lattimore. There is little reason to doubt other teams will be vying for his services. There is no substitution for experience, and Moore has plenty of it. Obviously, the team at the top of the list of potential suitors is the team he spent the most time with — the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys have a young secondary that could certainly use a veteran for depth purposes. Moore is already familiar with Rod Marinelli’s defense to fit right in immediately. Even wideout Cole Beasley knows the Cowboys could use the help. Follow Cole Beasley ✔ @Bease11 Cmon bring my dog back home man @dallascowboys https://twitter.com/rapsheet/status/923216224703647744 … 11:39 AM - Oct 25, 2017 72 72 Replies 863 863 Retweets 3,063 3,063 likes Twitter Ads info and privacy The addition of Moore wouldn’t suddenly make the Cowboys a shutdown secondary, but he could help take some of the pressure off the young corners. The same is true for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Call that secondary “Wonder Bread” because it’s always getting toasted. Moore has some familiarity with that team, having played there and started nine games before signing with the Saints. Although their worries are predominantly with the defensive front, they might consider bringing back a familiar face in Moore. The Cleveland Browns are another team to keep an eye on. Jason McCourty, the team’s top corner, is still dealing with an ankle injury. Cleveland might be a place Moore could actually go to and stick for a while. That team needs help from top to bottom. Moore is a moldable talent who could help various defenses if too much isn’t dumped on his plate. He’s an undersized ball-hawk with the heart to make up for size. Even if he isn’t a starter, he’d be a welcome addition to any of those three teams in their current state. He’s a journeyman with plenty of football life left. https://www.fanragsports.com/possible-landing-spots-for-sterling-moore/

I'd bring him in. He is young and somewhat proven. At least add talent and depth to the roster.

Why would any veteran player sign with us at this point in the season? Idk it popped up on my app and thought I would throw it up. 1) we could use another CB 2) he is out of a job 3) most likely he is looking for a job 4) we have enough money to make the highest offer idk something like that. if someone were to pay me millions to play a game I love. I would jump on it in a heartbeat. I wouldn't care what team it was. lol A guy can always dream, Lord knows we need all the help we can get.

Why would any veteran player sign with us at this point in the season? As dogpound stated...he is out of a job.
Also he just might get a shot here more than on other teams. Anybody coming here at this point of the season would be to set up starting with us next season or sticking with a team which evidently he has problems doing so far. We actually could be the team to give him stability.
And quite frankly the way our Defense is shaping up players might be proud to be part of it!

Why would any veteran player sign with us at this point in the season? It would be along the lines or: Nowhere else to go More money ... those are the only two factors I can see put together.

Couldn’t we have just claimed him? Only players who are on rookie contracts go on waivers. Veterans are cut and become free agents.
