OK so here we go.

The AP Top-25

1. Alabama
2. Ohio State
3. Florida State
4. USC
5. Clemson
6. Penn State
7. Oklahoma
8. Washington
9. Wisconsin
10. Oklahoma State
11. Michigan
12. Auburn
13. LSU
14. Stanford
15. Georgia
16. Louisville
17. Florida
18. Miami
19. South Florida
20. Kansas State
21. Virginia Tech
22. West Virginia
23. Texas
24. Washington State
25. Tennessee

A couple notes:

The Alabama vs. Florida State game this Saturday is the first time in AP Poll history (1950) that 2 of the top 3 teams in the preseason poll play each other in the opener. Geez one of the best games of the year the first weekend. Alabama favored by a touchdown.

The biggest opening poll surprises to me are Kansas State at 20 and South Florida at 19.

Actually South Florida’s not that surprising. But I don’t ever remember seeing the Kansas State Wildcats in a NCAA Football Top-25 poll before. Ever.

Why are their so many top-25 teams in Florida? Isn’t it too hot for football?

should be a fun year in general, and for OSU fans.

I think Bama, OSU, USC, and Clemson make the final 4

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

Kansas St. has been pretty good for awhile now. Bill Snyder is a great coach.

I'm excited about the college football season. The NFL game and the Browns constant ineptness is becoming a turn-off. I'm enjoying the college game more and more.

They've got a dark horse Heisman candidate in Ertz at QB, too.

The heat is what makes them good.

Heat will sap you faster than will the cold. Players build more reserve when stressed in the heat.

I am a Gator, but I don't expect much out of them this year. We will probably drop after losing to Michigan in the opener.

Florida is a solid recruiting ground for the reasons mentioned. It has the heat, and a big population. You are going to find a lot good athletes down there. Add in there are 3 top tier football schools, and 2-3 others on the next tier, and there you have it. Same reason why Texas and California produce lots of top teams.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

Rutgers looks much better this year. They might have been the worst D-1 team in the nation last year. They are hanging w/number 8 Washington, although the punt return was a killer.

Watching the Wisconsin / Utah St game I saw a quick interview with Wisconsin Defensive Coordinator and former Browns DB Jim Leonhard. I always liked him and glad to see him doing well.

Maryland is looking good. That Pigrome is a playmaking QB and their defense is just really aggressive. I like their attitude, just wonder how long it'll hold against a team with depth like Texas

maryland just gave up a blocked fg for a td (moments after doing it themselves) seems like a big play here

Maryland's DL and skill positions are much improved.
This Florida/Michigan game looks like a box of crayons.

Buckeyes host the Terps October 7th.

Great to see a quality Big 10 win. I like the Longhorns though. I hate to see it come at their expense.

You hittin' the wine early PastorMarc?

That's OK.

But nonsensical posts aren't.

There's nothing wrong with liking teams with losing records.
