Might be time to really think about considering a managerial change....

That was such a fun couple of weeks. I was just telling my wife usually when a team gets a significant winning streak, in any sport, there is usually the element of some good fortune and luck that falls on your side, but outside of having to come back last night, that was flat out dominant baseball, and some of the best pitching we have ever seen.

What makes Tito such a great manager is he will get these guys to bury this whole thing by the end of the weekend. Between that and the impending division clincher in the next few days, Tito must get this group to regain focus, and keep everyone ready for the playoffs.

You could tell between last night and this night that guys were pressing just a little more. Baseball is such a huge game of habit that it's probably good in the long run that this thing is over, and you have a few weeks to just play baseball before going into the playoffs.

Awesome awesome run though, pretty cool scene to see the fans and players applauding each other afterward tonight

This team has really been fun to watch the last 2 years. That streak was simply amazing. Something I doubt we will ever see again. I am proud of the Tribe. Just one more thing to do. Just win the whole dang thing!!!

Nice job, but am glad it is over. Now we need to clinch and start resting a few of these guys for the playoff run.

Good time to rest regulars and work on getting Brantley and Kip back, I think you leave Guyer and Naquin off playoff roster, depending on health of Brant and Kip. Zimmer done for season correct.

Great run.

Lot's of fun.

Less than a "once-in-a-lifetime" occurrence.

And still lot's of baseball left.

It looks like the Indians will have 3 players with MVP consideration;

Kluber, Ramirez and Lindor

Congrats to the Indians and all of us Indians fans for our team winning the AL Central. Also, the streak provided one key element that no other team has had a chance to experience yet this year. Playing with real pressure in front of loud sold out stadium in playoff like atmosphere.

53 hours until the next Indians game.

That much scheduled time-off typically only happens during the all-star break.

The rest of Major League Baseball needs to recover from us!

Not much happening today. The Dodgers are playing. We can root against them, seeing is how they're 3 up on us in the win column (now that I know WS home field IS based on the best overall record). We're two clear of Houston, but they're idle like us.

Anyone watch the game yesterday? I heard Kip was in center. Did he play well?

EDIT...just found this:

CENTER OF ATTENTION
Jason Kipnis didn't embarrass himself in the outfield. He didn't do anything, really.
The Indians' two-time All-Star second baseman made his debut in center but didn't have a chance. He had been on the disabled list since Aug. 6 with a hamstring injury.
''It was good. I didn't touch a ball all day offensively or defensively,'' said Kipnis, who struck out twice. ''I had nothing, but it was fun. Obviously, I had some nerves.''
As soon as Kipnis left the game, two balls were immediately hit to center.

Kipnis was absolutely clueless at the plate.

Two At bats and two strike-outs in only 8 total pitches. (I could do that)

As long as Ray Charles was pitching.

But that's OK.

All part of Francona's grand plan to field the best possible team come October.

I'd put it at less than 25% kipnis is here next year..there's simply no room for him and he's always hurt. Let the young kids play, they are fun to watch. Ramirez has range kipnis could never have, and if you're comparing bats...lol, well let's not go there. Good problem to have and Kudos to the FO for having just a productive farm system

Yep.

But hey, slow down.

Kipnis has won American League Player-of the-Month 5 times in the last 4 years.

Meaning during those months he was the best player in the American League.

He was #1 out of about ~ 1,000 players.

Five times

That's kinda good. He's got something going for him.

Still he'll have to give Francona reason to put him on that tight post-season roster.

And you're right.

What a great problem to have!

Something fun to think about for a couple of years from now .....

You can never have too much pitching, and this kid looks like a valuable commodity in the minors ..... or a potential quality starter in a couple of years. Thus far nothing has been too big for him.

Indians' Shane Bieber: Breezes through three levels in 2017 - CBSSports.com
https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/baseba...levels-in-2017/

Bieber -- who worked his way from Low-A Lake County to Double-A Akron in 2017 -- finished the minor-league season with a 10-5 record, 2.86 ERA and 1.13 WHIP over 28 starts.
In just his second professional season, the Tribe's fourth-round pick in 2016 blew the roof off by tearing through the organization's minor-league ladder. Bieber's overall 162:10 K:BB was simply unreal, and his ability to dominate at three levels without a problem was more than impressive. The 22-year-old right-hander actually got better as the competition stiffened, lowering his ERA and BAA at each stop along the journey. Bieber has earned himself a nice long look in next spring's camp, but a spot in the big-league rotation is still at least two years away, assuming he continues to have success.
