Didn't see the game, probably won't see another all year. It's hunting season plus alot to do on my property. Sadly, I won't/don't miss it and don't see myself starting to miss it. It's actually very nice not concerning myself with it. Go Blue Jackets!

Yep, the Jets were said to be the worst team in years. I watched the 2nd half of a lot of games yesterday, and no one came close to looking as inept as the Browns.

Is this what Ben R meant when he said the Browns are going to suprise a lot of people?

another depressing note as I watch the other games: Goff, Wentz, Watson, Prescott ... and then Kizer.

I agree that on gameday, I can post with emotion. I am usually mad.

The next day is different.I am no longer mad....maybe a bit depressed.

No doubt I didn't expect the playoffs this year. I also didn't expect 0-4 with the team looking worse each game.

I didn't, either. It's very disappointing - how we look so terrible, spinning our wheels and going backward.

This is a shameful product.

I'm thinking the same thing.... I'll probably still watch though (sighs).

I think either FO or Hue are going to be gone, possibly before year out. I think there is a rift between the FO and coaching and when you have that its over. Now as much as I think Hue isn't a very good coach, he and his whole staff atleast have a track record to fall back on, that can't be said for the moneyball boys. I think if you get Hue a legit talent evaluator that he can work with, Then you'll see things improve, but the lack of talent is glaring, but so are some of the coaching deficiencies you shouldn't see at this level

WE KNEW - Rookie Qb, raw talent. New OL that was going to need time to gel, Horrible WR cast, no real playmakers standing out on offense. This was going to be a horrid offense no matter what or who was behind center.
WE HAVE - pretty much what we all knew.

WE THOUGHT - that we were going to have an attacking aggressive defense that was going to keep us in games.
WE HAVE - absolutely nothing advertised. Guys playing 40 yards off the ball, 0 pass rush, corners playing 10 yards off WR. poor tackling.

I am ok with the offense stinking, I knew that was going to happen. There is NO EXCUSE for this defense to be this bad and playing so conservatively that teams are just picking us apart with guys 5-10 yards wide open.

You might be 4 games in... but we've been saying that for about 15 years in a row.. please let me know when being upset about that doesn't make people whiny little girls.

Sorry, I'm tired of sucking year after year after year.. I'm tired of hearing the excuses that we have a new coach, we have a rookie QB, we have this and we have that... when other teams with those same things win, compete, improve.. yet somehow we are supposed to suck it up and accept that we can't... that we should find some noble pride in being 32 out of 32 on the NFL power rankings all the time.... that we have to suck for many years before the pieces come together...

It's every year too. Literally, every single year. Every year, every coach, every scheme, every draft... everything. Usually I feel this way mid-season but I started feeling this way after the second loss.

Worst team the league has to offer.

Everything about our franchise/team is depressing. I thought we had a plan this whole offseason, but it looks like we have little hope.

How many offensive plays were truly competitive plays? Plays where we looked like a real NFL team? It's not a lot...it's not enough.

We need to run the ball...we all know it...our team knows it...the opponent knows it. Our best RB rolleyes can't run from the shotgun and our best QB rolleyes can't play from under Center. Did the coaches not see that coming?

The Bengals were coming after DK all game and we didn't throw a single screen pass that I can remember. Hue is not doing DK any favors with his play-calling and his insistence on doing the same thing over and over again.

GW has GOT TO STOP with the extreme-deep Safety plan. Our opponents have CLEARLY figured it out. It surprised Pitt...it's not surprising anyone else. Our LBs can't cover well to begin with and now have essentially no one behind them for 15-20 yards. It's beyond ridiculous.

Kizer looked lost and awful yesterday. Yes...the WRs did him no favors...AGAIN. However, I imagine Hue is getting dangerously close to damaging Kizer's psyche and risks losing the locker room if things don't change. Just like GW will start to lose his guys if the scheme continues to give up easy yardage and scores to every QB we face.

When the guys who cover your team on the radio continue to point out the folly of your ways, you better believe the opponent - and your own players - see it as well.

Horrible... Just horrible. Don't know what else to say.. Disgusted with the way things are going. I expected a slow start, I expected a bunch of rough outings, I expected mistakes.

What I didn't expect was a totally unprepared team.

Guilty. I am guilty.

Thought this team was better than this. Thought they would challenge teams.

Unwatchable.

Moving on to the Tribe. Super excited to watch the playoffs.

Watching the Browns is like some kind of obligation that you don't want to do.

It's no longer an obligation for me. If MG doesn't play next game, I'm 94% convinced I'll be doing something other than watching us go 0-5 next Sunday or whenever we play. I'll be 100% convinced by Weds.

That’s funny considering you’re talking about him playing for Kizer, Kizer hasn’t made any throw worthy of an nfl qb, hogan had three in one drive

Second string QB playing against Cincy's second string D.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

After reading through this thread, I think if Browns fans had been Falcons fans years ago, they would have been overjoyed when the Falcons traded Favre away to Green Bay. QB's take time to develop. Just ask Green Bay how great getting Favre was.

Now I'm not saying Kizer will be the next Brett Favre. What I am saying is that this fan base seems to be giving up on the kid way too soon.

The ball was delivered timely and was caught...the offense moved down the field....just like in the Ravens game (although briefly).

I'm a little concerned that Hue is going to dig in his heels to prove a point when no one will blame him for giving Kizer a break if Kizer continues to not progress or continues to regress (he was awful in that Bengal game).

If Hue will not change the play calls and DK continues to look like he did yesterday, then Hue MUST consider a different QB for awhile. It wouldn't be a sin or an indictment of Kizers' potential...but DK was way out of his league Sunday. Way.

Not disagreeing here...but...no one is saying to trade or cut Kizer...just that he looked so not ready and maybe should sit for awhile. He looked incredibly not ready yesterday.

My concern is that I believe no other aspect of the offense can improve or really jell if the QB play is that off...DK wasn't just a little off...he was truly overwhelmed out there.

When Hogan has been thrown into the game(s) - after not being the #1 QB during practice - and moves the team down the field, one must wonder. Maybe Hogan should take over until after the bye week and see if the O can get something in synch...anything...then go back to DK after two weeks of bye-week-practice to get back in the cockpit.

If you are concerned about his confidence, what do you think benching him will do?

I disagree, no matter how bad it is or how bad it gets, we made this bed by starting him and we need to roll with it. Benching him will do more harm then good. He was not ready, we know that. now its time to see how bad he really wants it and if he has it. I for one, do not want to go into next season with a top 3 pick, wondering if we need to take a qb. Let him play it out this year, if he doesn't improve, we know what we need to do with that top pick.

If he can't handle sitting for awhile after his last performance, he can't handle the job of being an NFL QB. He's simply not ready...so not-ready that he might need to sit. It's not his fault that Hue keeps throwing him out there. No pun intended.

I would have been.. and my guess is that so would you.

Favre was a second round pick, in his 1 season in Atlanta, he threw 4 regular season passes and 2 of them were intercepted (because he couldn't beat out Chris Miller for the starting job).. they turned that trade into a 1st round pick the following season..

So in hindsight, yea it's really easy to say how stupid it was but if folks are intellectually honest with themselves.. most would have thought it was a good deal for the Falcons at the time and that Ron Wolf was actually the moron...

Is this some kind of addiction? Watching next week. How awful do you have to be to bounce to better? I need more kool aid. Pass the phony rah-rah presser. I like the ones where we pass vertical, press & blitz, and run the ball. Kool aid with a snake oil chaser. Go, Browns.

Agreed. We've drafted 4 1st round QBs in the first round, and really haven't invested in developing any of them the right way any time. I'm not saying any of them would have been good (and other factors killed a couple of them), but we didn't set them up for success.

Kizer might or might not be good, but if he demonstrates the work ethic and shows improvement as the season goes along............well at some point you have to ride with a guy and build a team around him.

Right now Kizer has very little chance to succeed because there are ZERO playmakers on offense. We have no difference makers.........no running game, no WRs. Really hard to expect a rookie to be successful in that environment.

Not far from what I expected:(

I have not said anything about Britt all season. I have been extremely disappointed in his play to say the least up to this point.
But after a 1/4 of the year Britt should be cut!!!!!!!!!!

Kiser needs to sit.
Anyone that thinks Hogan does not give this team a better chance to win must be watching somebody else play.
Is Hogan a Pro Bowl QB???? not so much.
Is Hogan a better option than Kizer at this point???????? Good God, Yes He Is!!!!!!

Penalties. Blah!!!!!!!!

I thought Berline nailed it when he said that he doesn't think sitting guys makes them better. Forget how he said it, but he said it how I said it earlier this year (probably why I agreed with him) but if a QB doesn't have the make up and determination and belief in his abilities sitting him isn't going to improve on that.

This is when Kizer needs to dig deep hold his head up and push forward if he can't do that he won't make it anyway.

The choice was Kizer we ride him until he can't go or he brakes thru the other side. If you all don't know rookie QB's have more downs than ups then your not paying attention if he is still playing like this come the end of the year he is trash and we need to move on.

Oh and it wouldn't hurt if the receivers caught the ball.

I am 100% in agreement with this and think it is one of the most misunderstood things in all of sports.

When a great shooter loses his jump shot, when a great pitcher can't find the strike zone, when a great hitter goes in a slump... the first thing any athlete will tell you is that they just need to find some success to get their confidence back. They tighten up, start getting tentative, start playing to "not miss"... and that's with players who have already established themselves as "great".. so what happens when a rookie, who doesn't have any success at this level to fall back on, gets his confidence yanked away? What do they fall back on?

I can understand people are pissed but look at what you saw in Preseason. The running game was just ok. There was a starting QB(Brock) that was nothing short of crap. So Kizer comes in looking better than him. But folks have to remember, teams play alot of man-to-man in preseason. So now the season comes NOW he sees what pro defenses look like. Add in the Receivers can't catch colds and we have an offense that looks and plays worse.

The D now has to play alot of snaps and G.Williams aggressive nature gets him in trouble. He is playing too much man and does not give help with the safeties. No pass rush to speak of, so completions abound.

A perfect mix of a 2-14 season.

Had one final post game thought...

Alex Mack
Joe Haden
Phil Taylor
Trent Richardson
Brandon Weeden
Barkevious Mingo
Justin Gilbert
Johnny Manziel
Danny Shelton
Cam Erving
Corey Coleman
Myles Garrett
Jabrill Peppers
David Njoku

Not one single player on that list is currently contributing to the Browns.

Yikes.

LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

Browns rebuild is no excuse for a loss like Sunday's: Dan Labbe

By Dan Labbe, cleveland.com dlabbe@cleveland.com
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Browns head coach Hue Jackson said it best in part of an answer to a question about whether he was shocked the Browns were off to a winless start in 2017.

"We are 0-4," Jackson said. "We earned the record."

Did they ever on Sunday. The Bengals maintained their Steelers-esque run of dominance over the Browns, winning for the sixth consecutive time. The game didn't feel nearly as close as the 31-7 final score.

The Browns are now 1-19 since blowing up their front office and tearing the team down to the studs, as they've said. Their focus has been about acquiring assets and creating more opportunities in the draft: If you throw more darts, more are bound to hit.

So yes, the Browns are incredibly young, they are focused on the future and their owner specifically pointed to 2018 and 2019 as the years the turnaround would begin.

None of that, though, should hide the fact that the Browns are a worse football team after four games in 2017 than they were after four games in 2016. The embarrassing performances of the last two weeks shouldn't be allowed to be hidden behind talk of the long view and a rebuilding process.

Hue Jackson: 'We got beat pretty soundly' in Browns loss to Bengals
It's easy to write off losses like Sunday's and point to the idea that the Browns have pieces in place to build something successful. It's a disingenuous argument, though.

First, we don't know for sure if the Browns do have enough pieces to point to a potential turnaround. Second, every NFL team has pieces. Certainly a team that has drafted 24 players in the last two years should have some pieces.

What we saw last Sunday was disturbing. What we saw Sunday against the Bengals was alarming. The defense -- albeit a defense missing three key players -- was a sieve. The offense was non-existent.

There was enough bad on Sunday to reach across the building in Berea, from the coaching staff to the front office. Scheme, roster construction, everything led to one of the most embarrassing losses this team has suffered in a two-year span that has been full of them.

There has to come a point where progress is no longer an abstract. It's not an unfair expectation to want tangible evidence that this plan will work. No one is demanding a 10-2 run to finish the season and fight for the playoffs. Most reasonable people looked at this team and saw four to five wins at best.

Now, even that level of faith -- at that low of a bar -- has to be shaken.

Losses against a team like Indianapolis shouldn't be met with a shrug. Pastings like the one on Sunday by the Bengals can't be glossed over by peeking at a mock draft. Players the Browns passed on in the draft having success in other locations should cause concern.

This doesn't have to be an either-or.

You can believe in what this front office is trying to do, and still wonder why things are going so wrong right now.

You can believe that things will change once Myles Garrett is healthy and DeShone Kizer gets more comfortable, and still be confused about the vision on offense and the plan on defense.

You can believe that the mass of draft picks awaiting this team in 2018 will have the arrow pointing up, while still wondering about the overall construction of this current roster.

It's perfectly reasonable to look at this plan and have hope it could still work, just like it's perfectly reasonable to be cynical of the whole idea.

But this 0-4 start; this loss to the Bengals at home; you can't bury them under future draft picks. You can't hide them behind the banner of a longterm process. You should expect better, regardless of what you think of this plan.

The only sign of true progress in the NFL is found in the win column. If we're going to bother keeping score every week, a few additions there every now and again is something any reasonable observer should demand.

Not a coincidence. The Browns havent had a good skill player since 2007.

If the Browns look bad or lose to the Jets it will probably be Josh McCown.

1-11 Josh McCown, (Jets have won 2 straight)
2016 Cleveland Browns, quarterback Josh McCown.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.
