Correct me if I am wrong, but the first 12k and 24k is tax free is a bunch of baloney since I read where there will be no personal exemptions, so the 12k and 24k are reduced by whatever personal exemption amounts you had you had. For 2016 it was $4,050 per exemption.

This market exploded when Trump ran on tax reform and reducing corporate tax rates. If this does not get done the market will collapse. I don't think the tax plan will pass. Trump has failed at everything he's ever done. His Presidency will not break the pattern. He's a con man.

My understanding is the 12 or 24 is the new Standard Deduction for those who do not itemize. You knock that off your total income right from the get-go. Tax Free Mon-nay! So if you did itemize and it came out to more than the 12 for singles or the 24 for married, you will still want to itemize unless you deductions have been reduced by certain deductions no longer being allowed.

Paul Ryan said on Tucker Carlson that 337 bills have passed the house. Out of those, 274 still sit in the Senate. I blame them. Who's really pushing Mitch McConnells buttons? Trump FAILED at everything? C'mon man, this is nothing more than the LIES you keep peddling.

If y'all really want to understand what's being planned, let's look at the record so far.
The Wall - Trump said he would build a wall and Mexico would pay for it. He immediately asked congress to fund it.
ATTEMPTS FAILED
Healthcare - Trump said everybody would be covered and it would be better than we have now.
Then he and the GOP tried several times to ramrod through bills that would provide far less coverage and kick 20-30 MIllion people off healthcare. Each bill was designed to provide a tax break for the very rich.
ATTEMPTS FAILED
On the campaign trail Trump promised wildly reduced taxes and complete tax reform. 15% was a figure thrown out, some speculate 10-12%, others 20%... Good for everybody!
Reality has set in and 6 men have once again hidden behind closed doors to plot a tax reform package that they can't give us solid details on, but in true Trump form it looks to be screwing the little guy while giving more to the rich!
Now Trump has had some success, mostly with his pen and executive orders. He has removed protections to allow Corps and the wealthiest Americans the ability to do horrible things to the environment, consumers, and the country all in the name of making money... once again for the wealthy.
A chicken in every pot? I think not. Lots of great jobs? Looks to be bait for suckers. This is a heist.

if the market collapse because they can't get it passed, then that's on the market for being based on speculation, the GOP for not getting it done, and on the people who voted for the GOP.
at some point, people need to stop blaming politicians and start asking themselves if they are voting for the right people.
i've seen throughout social media, the people i meet, etc, always blaming the politicians for why crap is the way it is.
well who put them there? who showed up to the polls and voted for <insert candidate>?
for example, i see conservatives and moderate republicans that keep crying about mitch mcconnell, yet he's been in senate since 1984. at what point are the people of kentucky gonna look in the mirror and point the finger at themselves?

I give a lot of money to the Republicans each year. I have awards and such in recognition of my giving. This year they are asking me, where are you? Is something wrong? Can you help us? To which I have been replying, "I'm send my contributions to the Primary candidates running against our incumbents. I won't be giving to the RNC this year. They no happy bout that.

Most people will not be itemizing if the bill passes since the state income tax deduction and real estate tax deduction are being removed. Nobody will itemize but the "rich".

There will be no state or sales tax deduction or real estate tax deduction so only about 5% of people will itemize.

Honestly I think I would back a tax deduction for corporations if it was more incentive driven based on a ground up model instead of a trickle down model.
I think Arch was the one who mentioned a while back about how Toledo gave a tax cut to jeep for them to build this plant and wranglers in Ohio.
That's a ground up model right there. But the way the GOP at the federal level handles tax cuts is disturbing.
They want to give corporations a tax cut based on the HOPE of them bringing manufacturing jobs back once their taxes are lowered.
We've already seen how that plays out. And it ain't good. The road to hell is paved with good intentions, and the same concept applies to tickle down economics.
If theses businesses want a tax cut so bad then it needs to be contingent on them bringing jobs back. That's actually negotiating.
But just giving businesses a tax cut hoping they will do the right thing isn't negotiating; it's getting played.

Reagan did well at the beginning with trickle down. The problem was he over spent on building the military. I would have to read up on his economy. I'm not sure if he raised import taxes or what else accompanied his plan. If theses businesses want a tax cut so bad then it needs to be contingent on them bringing jobs back. That's actually negotiating.
I can agree to a point with some contingencies but being the highest corp tax rate in the modernized world needs to be addressed. I'm just not a fan of the tax and spend philosophy. That's Robin Hood socialism.

I wouldn't be opposed to zero taxes on Corps if it were tied to good paying US jobs somehow. But your formula would have to be fair to different sized businesses and 'good paying' well defined.

There needs to be a deliniation between big business taxes and small business / self employed people.
I am not a huge company. Just me, some contractors, and some volunteers. I pay 50%+ in taxes. Think about that for a while.
That hurts.A lot. Its quite a bit unfair.
So there is some fixing that needs done. Big business I dont care about. But mom and pops need a break.

That's fine if we need to make a well defined distinction.
But just a tax cut across the board doesn't solve much of anything. I understand that small businesses need a tax cut, but someone is gonna have a hard time convincing me that big corporations who make billions a year, don't pay their actual rate in the first place, and who get government subsidies, that they need even more tax relief.
That just sounds like a con job.

The con job is on people that think big business pay any taxes at all when they pass those costs on to the customer.
Cut their taxes and you cut what they have to pass on.
The biggest deal for big business is cutting regulations.
Small business will thrive under these tax cuts.

Small business will thrive under these tax cuts. well they are the ones constantly whining about the taxes they DON'T even pay. sorry but these businesses need to be regulated. if they want tax cuts, it's needs to be on the people's terms, not theirs. tax cuts for corporations has historically led to them having bigger profits while continuing to cut workers.

no, i'm talking about how things have run under the people you elected.
Obama got us out of a recession. but of course republicans are hell bent on putting us right back in it.

Well, I only care about my TAXES. I don't care what some millionaire gets to keep or has to pay.
Under the Dems tax ideology, I pay more, under this I pay less. Pretty easy to see which one I favor. I vote MY interest.

You mean like how they treated children before child labor laws? We saw how it was when business ran the country. That's why so many laws had to be passed to stop them.

Can only go by what I read and what is in front of me. What has been shown is it will benefit me. If that's otherwise, they will lose my vote next time around. But looking at the tax structure of Clinton produced during her campaign, to the one Trump produced, I highly favored his. My taxes would have went up under Hillary. That is a big reason independents went with trump.

What does the debt have to do with taxes? We don't have a revenue problem. We have a spending problem. Which is a completely different issue than taxes.

Close.
I voted for people that want to cut taxes.
I didn't vote for increasing spending.
I believe I'm on record here, probably multiple times, that spending is the main issue. Spending is too high.
Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to veto spending.
And, sadly, there isn't a politician around that would get elected if he/she promised to cut spending.
It's the world we live in. Politicians want their gov't. jobs to get the pay, and the benefits. To get the job, they promise.
As long as they're running our country into the ground, I may as well keep as much of my money as possible, don't you think?
