Why am I in a good mood? I have no idea.

Here's my past week:

-Buried my aunt.
-My daughter got benched in volleyball last night. (weird how hitting 2 balls into the net after smacking a spike so hard it hit a girl in the face......how making some plays......eh, just a disgruntled dad I guess. But, go ahead, put in a girl that has trouble jumping higher than the depth of a credit card and can't make a block for her life - eh, just a disgruntled dad, I know. Hey, how is it the girl that smacked 6 balls into the net, and 4 spikes so long they needed to wait to get the ball back, gets to stay in?) Having other parents question the benching... Hey, it's just volleyball.)
-work is so slow!
-Sitting in my office, in my pole barn - where Sammy the cat lives, and a mouse shows up right beside my feet. I tried to get a picture but I must have moved too much. "Sammy, get in here! There's a mouse." He came in, but didn't get the mouse.
-Took my uncle to the volleyball game last night. The uncle that lost his wife, my aunt. The uncle that everyone thinks is my twin. It was tough. He just wanted out of the house, but he wasn't into volleyball, or anything really.
-Discovered that repairing/replacing my small deck (deck. DECK) is going to be much more work, and take much more innovation than I had thought.
-Quarterly income taxes are due Friday.
-There's more negative.

So why am I in a good mood?

Well, there's that. (You forgot Sammy the cat though)

It's been a bad week. As far as work, a bad month. But, for some dumb reason, I'm upbeat.

and then think how happy you'll be when the Browns start winning

Browns winning? It'd be awesome, although I don't know how my neighbors would be able to deal with it.

I'm in a good mood.

And dang, just got off the phone with my dad. Diagnosed with prostate cancer just over a year ago. Treated. Things were good.

Checkup today. PSA level: .02.

Not too shabby, as my understanding is, for his age anyway, anything below 4 is "normal". (maybe I don't have that exactly correct - if so, someone in the know let me know)

Good thing about no work tomorrow? I can sleep in. (yeah, fat chance that'll happen).

.02 is excellent. Actually, .02 is prostate cancerwise, "undectable".
Been going thru the PSA tests since I went thru the prostate cancer thing last Oct. They've all came back at .02 so far.
Just went for psa blood test yesterday(tues) and waiting for the results. If it comes back good for the 4th time my psa tests and office visits go down to twice a year.
How old is your dad? I'm 60.

And, normal for my age is .02 to 4.00.

First of all, good for you.

My dad is 75. When he was diagnosed just over 14, 15 months ago, they said they would "treat to cure", as opposed to...........?

He had a hormone shot, then 3 or 4 months of radiation, 5 days a week.

Dad is now at 6 month intervals. (this is just my opinion here:) He may be at the age that they won't do anything more if it comes back and is a slow growing cancer? Just my opinion. Regardless, things look great for him.

Couple of other thoughts: The urologist around here (he's retired" was Dr. Richard Tapper. Hmmmmmmmmm..........think about that.

The current Urologist is Dr. Lash.

Neither of those names sound real good for a urologist, do they?

I will say, Lash is an awesome, upbeat person/Doc. A number of my friends work with or for him. He's a great doctor and asset to this area.

I used to call my Urologist Dr Evil.

He went into my bladder with a scope and ripped a stent out of my ureter. (ureter is the tube that connects the kidney to the bladder.)
No sedatives.
No nothing.
In his office.
I was put under general anethesia to put that stent in...in the first place..
Yeah, rip it out...I'll just grip the table extra hard...go ahead dude.

Yeah, not a fan of any urologists. All evil.

I'm in a good mood too ..... even though I have to go have a colonoscopy nest month, and have to go see the surgeon about a torn ligament in my left knee. lol Weird. (NOT the ACL)

The Tribe is on a 21 game streak, and that makes me smile ..... my dog actually ran around the back yard the other day, (he usually kinds walks/waddles) lol and I had an improper collection account removed from my credit report, and my mom is in good shape.

Got this past Tues PSA test results back today. Came back again at .02, or undetectable. thumbsup

Got it down to twice per year tests/visits. nanner

Actually, the standard range on my printed results page are from .02 to 2.49. The tighter range could be an age thing tightened by the Cleve Clinic.

Research via the web says standard goes up to 4.00 but you could test under 4 and still have it or over 4 and not have it.
Check it out.

Well, I can now verify that Sammy didn't dine on mouse last night.

Sitting here and I just heard a "snap". Got up and walked around the corner - sure enough, the peanut butter in the trap was apparently attractive enough that it got a visitor. He/she checked in, but won't be leaving.

Reminds me of a song.

The last 3 yrs. My Dr said i don't have to even give you the finger test Your psa is better than then Drs. I've had that checked since 2007 every year.

Now the reason is my Dad died from prostrat Cancer so i have to be checked yearly at my age with a history.

Now my Mom not to be outdone Passed from an Adomibal Anurzium. So i had to have that checked. Guess what? ya i got one also plus an Aoetric Anurzium. Both at 4.4.They operate around 5. I had a close friend ask me what if it ruptures before they fix. Told them i will probably be dead before i hit the floor.

Alyways as long as i'm upright it's agood day.

Unless you have cancer then you can have a 5.4cm ascending aortic aneurysm which is growing quickly and they tell you oh hell no we can't crack your chest open till your cancer free for a year lol
