I wouldn't bet that anybody gets a pass should we be 0-16.

this whole time but I'd not be surprised if Jimmy is getting ready to jettison this bunch at the next station.

It most certainly is growth. Can't you see the loss column growing?

In a word, no. Passing on Wentz? Passing on Watson? No real quality at WR? These buffoons know ZERO about building an NFL roster. They know how to save money. That's about it. And if the Browns go LESS than 5-27 in their two years of "leadership" then that should be about it for them as well. Think about that. 5-27 was the Browns record after their first two years of expansion. To perform WORSE than that is absolutely unacceptable. Period.

First off, we didn't have enough picks to fill in all the holes we had. We need another draft and FA period to at least START to finish what we started. Secondly, in our 1st 2 years back we had a lot of veteran players in with young guys on our roster players that had some years in the league and knew a lot more than all the young guys we have now. We are developing these young guys we have now and it will take time. What's happening with us now should have been expected.

Texans rookie QB Deshaun Watson tells CBS Browns coach Hue Jackson texted ‘be ready’ on draft day

Houston Texans rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson told CBS he received a text message from Browns coach Hue Jackson April 27 on draft day that said “be ready.”

CBS play-by-play announcer Andrew Catalon told the story during Sunday’s telecast of the game between the Browns and Texans. According to Catalon, Watson provided the revelation Friday.

Of course, the Browns didn’t end up picking Watson at No. 12 overall. They traded the pick to the Texans and received the No. 25 overall selection, which they used on safety Jabrill Peppers, and Houston’s 2018 first-round choice.

The Arizona Cardinals told Watson they would take him if he were still available at No. 13, Catalon said. After the Texans drafted Watson at No. 12, the Cardinals picked Haason Reddick at No. 13.

It's a trust thing.

Dee needs to ask herself if she can trust Sashi and Co. to oversee next year's draft. It's too important to get it wrong.

So far Sashi and Co. have not earned that trust.

Hue is awful no doubt but Sashi and Depo have eclipsed Hue's awfulness by miles.

Dee will have some big decisions to make.

That certainly would suggest Hue thought the Browns were going to draft Watson, or at least he wanted the front office to draft him.

Interesting. I think those little behind-the-scenes bits of information will determine who keeps their job.

Personally, I'm not against keeping Sashi, but if Hue Jackson wanted Jared Goff and Deshaun Watson, it shows he needs to start trusting his coach on quarterback evaluations. I would wonder why he doesn't already. If I was an NFL GM with a head coach like Hue Jackson, I'd value his opinion most when it came to a quarterback.

The Browns had Trubisky ranked first, Mahomes 2nd and Watson 3rd. Hue might have thought Watson would be there with the 25th pick or in the 2nd round.

Need to get rid of the front office as soon as possible. We can't risk them further messing up the team.

Are you excited about the future because the present is always a example in failure with the Browns ?

The front office should get a pass. A bus pass out of town.

They said Hue texted Watson and we ended up trading out.

Now, we watch all these QBs ball out and we see us... our product. The FO fubar'ed it there and other areas, and it's so clear.

I hope it effects their sleep at night the horrible decision made there by Sashi.

Per a league source with knowledge of the situation, the 0-6 Browns (1-21 since the start of last season) have begun reaching out to candidates to potentially join the organization’s front office. The Browns currently are targeting football executives, and for good reason.

Currently, the front office is run by executive V.P. of football operations Sashi Brown, a lawyer who has never worked as a scout. Former baseball executive Paul DePodesta serves as the team’s chiefs strategy officer. The team has no General Manager.

The Browns have two more games before a bye, with the eighth game of the season coming in London. It’s unclear whether changes would be made during the season, or whether it would be an addition or an addition and one or more subtractions.

Jimmys the problem ... if he signed on to this re-build and he fires these guys or hue .. jimmy’s a worse owner than i thought .. and IMO and this is not me being upset ... GC, I don't know what it stands for, (general something), but it means one is responding in general, to the whole thread, and not to that particular individual post, or person who made the post.

You can replace Sashi and Depodesta with any 2 random adults in the world and get the same results

I always said I could do a better job drafting then these past 5 regimes and I really mean it. I certainly couldn't do any worse.

NO ONE SHOULD BE FIRED .. not the FO and not Hue ...

I don't know Rish, QB is without a doubt the most important position in the NFL and the FO hs seemingly made egregious errors in passing on Wentz and (possibly Watson).

Those two players alone guarantee there respective franchise will be relevant for the next 10 years.

Depodesta (whatever he does), even had the gall to claim they didn't take Wentz because they didn't see him as a top 20 QB in the NFL.

It's all a tragical comedy.

On the bright side, the harvard boys have failed to build anything, so there is nothing to blow up this time around.

Remember this when the next FO lets Coleman, Ogbah, Nassib and Garrett all walk in free agency.

Ogbah and Garrett would be the only losses out of that group. Nassib is way overrated by the fanbase and coleman is fragile.
