--I hated Jay Crowder when he played against us. I obviously love him now. LOL

--LBJ > Kyrie

--I don't like Love at the 5. Gotta put TT back in there or sign someone to play center.

--Smart was abusing us and J. Brown is going to be a stud. Those were the two I wanted if we we sent IT back to Boston.

--I think Green and Crowder bring us some nastiness.

--I think Wade and Rose bring us some speed on fast breaks.

--I like JR off the bench.

--I like our team. It's going to take some time, but I think we have the ingredients to be a serious challenger for the title.

Agree with all this. I'll add a few.

--Rose needs to pass a little more.

--They need to get Love more touches in the post. They weren't even looking for him and he was doing work down there.

--Still too much ISO ball, especially with Rose and Wade. If the ultimate goal is to beat GS, you won't do it that way. I'd like to see the team make a converted effort to move the ball.

--Not sure why but I enjoyed all the Cavs doing their handshakes with Kyrie. As players, they are bonded by a championship. They are brothers for life in that regard. As a fan, you have to appreciate Kyrie for all he did for the team. Now that it's out of the way though, I hope Kyrie never sniffs another title.

--Jaylen Brown was trash in the summer league this year, IMO, whenever I watched him. But you mix youth and athleticism with some skill and it looks pretty good.

--If Hayward makes it back, the Celtics are going to be good for a long time. I still don't like that we made them better.

that injury was devastating to witness. So much sympathy there. Brutal.

I thinking Jeff Green has the potential to replace Shump as "overconfident guy who does something amazing and then pisses me off seconds later"

It will be a neck and neck battle. wink

I remember Shump having a quick 4 points late in the 4th yesterday, only to have a sloppy turnover right after. They are both cut from the same cloth though.

it's imperative to rest LBJ, Wade, and Rose. And don't rush back Thomas ... who cares if we're the 1,2 or 3 seed

Yeah Lue has to do a better job at looking big picture...he's horrible at managing minutes, he really needs to assign that to an assistant coach. Like even last night, lebron, coming off an injury and first game back and he plays 41 minutes. Second was crowder with 34. That can't happen and shouldn't happen this early.. He needs to go deeper into his bench the early part of the year and just cruise and play with lineups. No reason to run them into the ground like last year. I know last night was a big deal, so I can understand needing to win that game, so lets see how he does from here.

Fun game last night, although that Heyward injury was brutal to watch. I hate the Celtics but I don't want to see that. Hopefully he has a clean, quick recovery.

The Cavs/Lebron still turn over the ball way too much. That played more of a reason than anything else into Boston making that comeback last night.

Aside from that, this potentially is a really fun team to watch. It will be nerve-wracking all season with Wade and Rose who have injury histories. Rose looked pretty good last night.

Crowder is the perfect fit for any team Lebron is on. He really is.

You never really win a trade when you give away top tier talent like Irving, but the Cavs did as well as they could have, considering Crowder is a starting caliber player and defender, Thomas when he gets back is a nice consolation to Irving, and not to mention that draft pick.

You were never beating Golden State with that previous team. With this group, I think you have a little bit of wiggle room to get better, as well as a few different looks you can throw at GSW.

Really happy to see the NBA back though. Can't wait to follow the rest of this season..

i look for that Brooklyn pick to turn into a all-star level player this year..Hope its boogie, because that would give GS fits. Who would they have to guard him...noone.

I almost forgot
Cavs 1-0
GSW 0-1

lol.. breathe it in while it lasts..

Boogie with contract extension is dream scenario.

Win the championship. LeBron stays. Sign Thomas long term and see if you can get 2 in a row.

kyrie in tonight's loss against the bucks:

7-25 from the field, 17 points, 3 assist.

I think he is going to find it a lot harder to be "the guy". Having LeBron on your team makes things a whole lot easier.

Not gonna overreact after 2 games, but he looks a hell of a lot more like the Kyrie we had before Lebron came back.

He'll have his moments where he's jaw dropping, and he's still the best finisher in the game, but he's a god-awful defender, and gets shot-happy.

What’s funny is during the game the announcers were talking about how Boston’s lack of ball movement really hurt them.. I said in game thread, Kyrie going to find it a lot harder to play his game without lebron bailing him out. GH would have been a help but it still wouldn’t magically turn Kyrie into a passer

One would think he'd have known that having been 'the guy' before Lebron came back but...

He was highly regarded in college but has bounced around the league.

I think he will help the Cavs because he is more athletic than the guys we have previously had at forward on the second unit. He also is a good wing defender. He can hit the 3, but is inconsistent. He is a good slasher and is quick on the way to the rim. He turns the ball over too much and his inconsistency will drive you crazy.

Bottom line: I think it was a good signing for the Cavs. He isn't being asked to start, but his athleticism will help the second unit.

I like Green. I think he'll be a good fit for the current role he has. A good replacement for RJ, who I really don't think has much more to offer anymore.

We already gave him max contract. Not money. Just thinks he can do it without lebron

Hmm...

Isn't LeBron approaching Michael Jordan status?

Michael Jordan was chosen #1 athlete of the 20th century. (all sports - #2-#5 were Babe Ruth, Muhammad Ali, Jim Brown and Wayne Gretsky respectively)

Sounds like a poor move by Irving.

Unless his ego is so big. Or he thinks, James is winding down.

I've not been impressed with Green, but this assessment is based off one game so I'll admittedly be too soon to get junky about it. Sounds like he's a person you give the ball to when he's hot though, so let's see more. Such a long season ahead!

LBJ looking good too, very lean and etc. Not bad for being injured.

I didn't think LBJ looked lean. He looked "puffy" and out of shape. He vowed to get in shape after the game.

As for Irving, it definitely wasn't about money. He waived money just to enable the trade. I think he wants to prove to himself he can succeed without LeBron. On one hand I commend him for wanting to take on that challenge and push himself. But I think it was more petty than anything else. I think he felt he was just as important to the team as LeBron but wasn't getting the same recognition or behind the scenes "bennies" like having his inner circle travel with the team like LeBron's. I think this ate away at him. He's a type a personality but like most young men in their mid 20s he still lacks maturity.

did anybody watch the lakers/clippers game?

man, patrick Beverly welcomed Lonzo to the NBA in spectacular fashion.

Lavar Ball might be the biggest douchebag on the planet...I almost feel sorry for Lonzo, besides being an overhyped player, the situation his dad has created from him is pathetic.. I could never imagine doing that to my kid. A nobody who happened to have athletic kids so he's trying to make himself relevant. He needs a throat punch

Agreed. He's also painting bulls-eye on his son's back. Other players are probably champing at the bit to show him up.

It was great except for the fact that Beverly is annoying. He's terrible but thinks he's good. Lonzo seems like a good, humble kid who's dad has put him in a tough situation. But it was a welcome to the NBA for the kid. Kinda liked that part. It's just Beverly is so annoying to me.

The Lakers are an absolute mess. That game was hard to watch. They literally have next to no talent on that team. Lonzo is going to need to be way more dynamic for them to have a chance and it's hard to measure his ceiling. Several times he had an opportunity to create for his teammates on the break and passed the ball to the wing well before he even hit the three point line. No pressuring the D. No creativity. Real basic stuff. But man, that team is a mess. They are banking on George and LeBron, and I just don't see it. There is no way those guys would join that.

Beverley made all defensive 1st team.

that's not anywhere close to "Terrible"

I just don't like the way the guy carries himself. Defense is a lot about hustle and want to and not necessarily talent, and to his credit he's done very well on that end. But he just comes across as he thinks he's better than he actually is. We all know the types. We've all played pick up with that guy.
