Why does this all sound so familiar?

Well, they don't play the national anthem before regular matches, only international ones. So, maybe players on England, Scotland, Wales and N.Ireland's National teams will begin to take a knee too. I hope they do.

That is why IMHO the protest should be done in another way. So the protest is about patriotism.

Then that’s a weakness of character on his part. I constantly discuss things with people who I don’t see eye to eye with.

How else would I be able to see multiple view points if I stay in a safe space?

Yup making the protest about patriotism and neglecting what it is actually being protested... "Racial Equality" tells me that many don't want to talk about racial equality. And they don't like to be forced into that conversation. Takes time with some. But IMO the take a knee protest is working.

I certainly do not mind a conversation about racial equality. I have one everyday (my wife is African American).

When haven't we had conversations about racial equality? Going back to my time on the official board, I can't remember a time where there wasn't a thread on that one or this one.

Because your jab about safe spaces was clearly an attempt to insult. I don't take any hard feelings over it because I don't really care all that much.

My posts were entirely about the collective conduct amongst we Dawgtalkers scholars. It was a long winded lamentation of how true dialogue, discussion, and possibly 'unity' can't take place because of people such as yourself.

The moment someone posts something that challenges you, you lash out, and in a despicable way. A couple weeks ago you repeatedly kept calling Haus and Arch Nazis and White Supremacists because they simply pointed out a reality that those people have a 1st Amendment Right to be a-holes.

Because you were so triggered, you couldn't distinguish the difference between them acknowledging their Right vs. embracing those groups views. Your failure to comprehend that resulting in those accusations against them was frankly disgusting. And it brought absolutely nothing to the "dialogue".

You're a smart dude Swish. I think everyone here would agree to that, and anyone who doesn't I have no problem telling them their wrong. I also think you're a good guy too.

But I guess if you think it's so controversial that Haus agrees with me about the need for a much higher standard of conduct that we all could hold ourselves up to... I don't know what to tell you buddy.

I'm going to try my best and hold myself to this higher standard I've talked about, but I'm no longer going to engage people who aren't willing to do the same. Furthermore, I'm going to encourage other people to not engage people who behave in such a poor manner because all it does is enable it further.

i said it before, but this confirms it: this pretty much made whatever the jags president said worthless. the owner doesn't side with trump, he supported his players in protest, and the players themselves aren't apologizing for expressing their rights.
