I feel this guy could be a steal. Hopefully he'll turn out to be another Simon Fraser.

Still, he's a 7th round pick...realistically, you're not going to get anything more than a situational player who can play more than 2 downs.

I liked the pick, and think Pittman can be solid on ST and maybe as a 3rd down rusher, if he improves on his atrocious first step.

Hey Joe T., Chase has signed...

Are you gonna take that!?!?!? He thinks he's better than you.

Well, caertainly not a show stopper, but overdue to get one in, and I hope most of this junk gets done. enough with the ego massage. Game wins, baby. Get your sweet hump to camp. Maybe that ought to be their earned signing bonus.
Meanwhile, go Browns! And may the Elf be with you!

Maybe I am just a fan... and those are numbers I can't relate to... I'm sorry, that extra 8% increase isn't going to be enough for me to hold out... If I suffer an injury, never play a single play in the NFL, and can't live comfortably for the rest of my life on $17,000,000 then there is something wrong with ME.... Would life really be any better if I had $18,500,000? I think not.

Maybe I'm a throwback, maybe I'm old fashioned, maybe I'm just downright delusional... but foregoing that extra money is worth it if I earn the respect of my teammates, my organization, and my fans...

Well said DC IF the kid really wants to play football for the Browns then 17 million or 18.5 million makes ZERO difference. Either amount is enough for him to retire and never have to work again if he gets hurt, or just retires after a few years in the NFL.

but in actuality.. we dont know what is going on... we dont know the numbers.. we dont know the talks... we only know two things:

1) That Thomas is not signed yet

2) We know what the previous 3rd picks signed for

What really scares me, is not that everyone seems sure Quinn will be a hold out, It's that if I was JT's agent, I might not sign until after Quinn is inked to ensure higher dollars as the 3rd pick over the 22nd.

We need that kid in camp asap to gel with the big boys.

There is no way in hell the Quinn gets more money than Thomas.

Exactly.

I've heard this statement outside of the board that BQ will get more money, and that's simply ludicrous.....

That is why I feel that unless the Browns fork out Young money.....58 mil....25 or so guaranteed, Thomas won't sign until the Quinn numbers are clear.

I think the Thomas camp is going to want to be sure there is enough gap between the contract the #22 player selected gets and the contract they finally accept.

the Thomas and Quinn contracts wont even be in the same ball park. Hell Thomas's signing bonus will be three times as much as much as Brady's entire contract. I dont see how one could possibly impact the other.

Quinn will get somewhere between 18- 22 money..Thomas is going to hinge on top 3 money plus 10% from last year..

I don't disagree........but if Quinn is offered a big bump in position over 22....Thomas isn't going to be eager to sign at a discount from Vince young numbers.

I agree with Attack....but I might say Quinn will be more in the #15 range rather than 18.....but that is just nit pick.

If Quinn gets more than Thomas, Phil Savage should be fired. Quinn will get a nice increase over Lawson from last year, but if you think he's getting more than Joe Thomas, I want your drugs.

The drop off in guaranteed money, on any given year from pick 1 to 8 is like 50%. From 3 rto 22 is probably close to 75%, if not higher.

I think he was talking about 18-22 slotting....not guaranteed cash.

I don't even think we need to consider Thomas signing for less than Quinn.

But if that idea is out there floating around in various circles..that makes the Thomas signing AFTER Quinn more likely.

No way Joe would do that. I would think less of him if he did. That would be just plain stupid.

So Joe doesn't really want to play for the Browns?

I like you buddy, that that comment is a bit self serving.

Just offer up league minimum and say if he doesn't sign he really didn't want to play for us.

That doesn't make much sense to me.

Considering where he is playing, the more bodies to rotate the merrier. Fraser was undrafted and improved quite a bit last year. While not a stud, getting another guy like Fraser would hardly be a bad thing. Fraser has played with more effort and desire than I saw out of Big dummy the whole time he was here.
