Blu-Ray has the edge because every single PS3 that is sold = another Blu-Ray player in someones house.

that's actually quite minimal when you think about the big picture...

the ps3 sales will not have much of an effect on the future of blu-ray...

right now, neither of them matter because they're charging 25-30 bucks for 1 damned dvd...

blu-ray does not make porn though, and that is going to be their downfall... you're essentially turning away hundreds of millions of dollars...

Granted, porn is a billion dollar a year industry. But maybe they don't want for people to think ADULT when they think blue-ray, still think they should give it a go though.

But another question is: How much did the Ps2 bring dvd's into the mainstream?

Oh geez, if someone chooses one over the other because of porn, they got problems.

That's what the internet is for.

Its funny seeing people defend consoles like they're family. I wonder why that is? Every console I ever owned had great games and was worth owning.... even the Dreamcast (severely underrated).

Sometimes I'm happy that there's so many original Xbox games that I still want to play. Saves me the hassle of worrying about buying expensive, unreliable 1st gen hardware and $60 games. Instead, I'm buying $5 bargain bin used games and having a blast. Been playing Mercenaries (about 15hr into it right now). That game is such a sleeper hit! Like GTA but in a war setting and MUCH better "on-foot" controls.

Anyone that is considering buying a 360 or PS3 should take into account the Movie Watching. My PS2 was my first DVD player and whenever I get a ps3 that will be my first Blu Ray player.

70% of all blockbuster HD rentals have been Blu Ray and blockbuster is leaning towards Blu Ray.

If Blu Ray ends up the winner Microsoft will take a hit and Sony will get a push.

Also the debate between 360 and PS3 controller, I cant see how people prefer 360 over ps3. PS3 is way more sleek, not nearly as bulky, does the 360 have any pressure sensitive buttons?, and 6 axis motion (very fun). No competition.

Yeah I'm with you on the controller. I can't figure out how people like it better.

As far as Blockbuster goes, I thought I read somewhere that they decided on Blu-Ray over HD-DVD. Actually I think Sony even said it at E3, so that is a bi + for Sony and the PS3.

I had the PS2 and hated the XBox controller, i bought a 360 and now love the 360 controller, they slimmed it down. Only thing that sucks about it is the D-Pad, but I never use it anymore so its not a problem.

I would imagine so since the original Xbox controller had pressure sensitive buttons. Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball used them... one of the few games that did. I didn't particularly like that feature though. I'd rather use the "quick tap" vs "tap and hold" method for determining strength since that's what I've been raised with.

I can't see how anyone thinks the 360 controller is bulky. Like I said, the original Xbox controller was perfect for me. However, I realize I'm different from a lot of the gaming public in that I hold the controller differently. I don't know, maybe it's a throwback to the old Genesis days. With my right hand, I prefer to play with my thumb on the thumbstick, index finger on the face buttons, and middle finger on the trigger. This way, you see, I can hit any of the face buttons WITHOUT removing my thumb from the thumbstick. This is pretty advantageous in a lot of games, particularly FPSs. Holding it the traditional method means your basically not using 3 of your fingers... and taking your thumb off the stick to hit a button sucked in the middle of an intense battle.

Anyway, with the Duke, it was the most comfortable, FOR ME.

And on top of that do you own an HD set?

I seriously doubt it.
