Hey Phil, good to see you back, and glad to hear you're doing better. I remember specifically thinking "I hope PDR is able to enjoy this" when we won the Championship back in 2016, because you had been a frequent poster in the Cavs thread, and then suddenly dropped off the board right before we had won.

It was a blast. I was living across the street from the Richard Jefferson Gymnasium (U of A basketball practice facility, RJ donates a lot to the school.

Ended the night there, as it felt right, and there's a good story behind it that maybe I'll share later.

Ok PDF, I see you are now posting in the highly combative Political Threads. Interesting.

When I first came to this site, many years ago, you and I began butting heads right from the start. It got nasty and then you disappeared.

Soon you returned and announced you have a drug problem.

To me, that explained a lot. I joined this site and ran smack into a drug addict. It was awful and I thought of leaving this site many times.

So here we are today as you make your return.

Problem for me is things are much different today. I am now aware that you are a drug addict. Back then I was not aware.

So, as you post in those combative threads, somehow thinking this will help you with your recovery, I am faced with a problem.

I want no part of arguing with you and I won't risk doing anything that will help push you back to the drugs that almost finished you.

You see, now that I am aware of your struggles it becomes partly my responsibility, as a human being, to not add to your woes.

I wish you good luck and just wanted to clear the air on these matters.

Things are not much different today.. every poster has the same two options they have always had... you can treat people with respect and dignity, even if you disagree... or you can treat everybody who disagrees with you like they are an idiot and with insults.... I guess there is a 3rd option, you can always walk away if a discussion is going south.

Nothing has changed. You get to choose how you treat people.

And if you don't think you can have a political disagreement with somebody without the fear that you are going to drive them back to drugs.. well then that says a lot about your approach.

Drug addiction is never prior, it is ongoing, for the rest of your life you must win, minute by minute, day by day.
