I disagree there. I have 2 cousins that are probably in the 1%....maybe just the 5%. Compliments of their dad.

I do see that some people are wealthy because of their family and not of there own doing. I get it.

Am I envious of my cousins? To a degree, yes. To a large degree, no. They aren't any happier than I am when you get right down to it.

I have wants and desires, just as they do. Their wants and desires are more expensive than mine, but it is what it is.

They are absolutely not 1 bit happier than I am.

I'm loving my life as it is. Do I want more? Sure, but by the same token, what would it do for me, really?

Still alive so my kids are self made.

My father and grandfather and great grandfather and great great grandfather were self made.

Not saying they were rich but they did good and had good lives.

I believe their are more people in the top 20 who made it there on their own. Dad's money may have pushed them up to the top 5 or 1 percent but most of the battle was theirs.

As proof of what I say I present my witnesses, The Mexicans and the Chinese who came here legally. Worked day and night, living 20 to an apartment built for 5. They got jobs, pooled their money until one of them would open a small business, usually a restaurant so the leftovers could feed them.

They worked hard and long so as the business grew they would one by one quit their jobs to work at the restaurant, always pooling their money until one by one they became independent and opened other small businesses.

Eventually they got to the point where they sent for family to come here, legally, to work.

Capitalism works if you will only get off your arse!

There are thousands and thousands of people here in Hartford alone whose job is to not work.

They are second and third generation welfare experts.

They know the system and have many relatives in the welfare offices.

I think it's all thanks to LBJ's Great Society.



Any infringement on their welfare benefits will be met with cries of social injustice.
